Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
1.) Every player but Wyzard has specified whether their character is drinking the broth. Wyzard, I'll need that specification from you at this point, please; you've seemed kind of cagey about it so far.
Obviously the broth thing is important to the NPCs. They could be trying to subtly poison the PCs. They could be trying something else. They could just be really strict about establishing guest-right.
2.) In the interests of saving time, I'm going to be explicit about the fact that the NPCs (chiefly the old woman) aren't going to budge about wanting an oath. In other words, before they reveal the location of the treasure, they're going to want assurances that the PCs aren't going to go load up on loot and then jet.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
Alfius, at least, has spoken the oath and consumed the broth, although the latter may have happened before the former.
Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
Tacitus is not drinking that stuff until they get to know each other better, but he'll split some of his corn dodgers with them if they want to establish guest-right.Julius Sleazer wrote:1.) Cool. Can you make an IC post addressing that? Thanks!

My bad---you've already done so.
I'll update IC shortly.
Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
Huh. I hadn't intended to fuck this deal up.
Do you guys want me to try and salvage the situation by eating the broth, go outside and let you guys make the deal, or what? I'm going to be gone almost all day tomorrow, so Tacitus will do whatever his friends think is best.

Well, the jury's still out---you could have caused the group to lose out on a pathway to loot and XP, or you could be the lone voice of reason saving them from a trap.Wyzard wrote:Huh. I hadn't intended to fuck this deal up.

Others: Please respond to Wyzard's question ("Do you guys want me to...") with alacrity so that I can adjudicate tomorrow (Tuesday) when I have a chance. My posting might be a bit spotty like it was Monday.
Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
The broth was already cooked when we arrived. She first learned of our arrival when Cadmus entered the hut, upon which she immediately gave him a bowl of the soup. Unless the old lady was trying to poison her husband, or this family has a genetic immunity to toxins, I think it's probably safe.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
Cool, thanks for voting. I'd like to request a little elaboration, if I may. Looks like Wyzard's going to be absent much of Tuesday and is willing to have his character proceed as per the party's voted wish---how exactly would you like Tacitus to proceed, based on the options Wyzard laid out in his most recent OOC post? Thanks, Vek!

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
I'd say that if Tacitus eats the broth it would save the deal.
I don't think that the plothook family is trying to kill us though I'd recommend us having a watch at nights all the same just in case the guys seeking the dagger have any way of magically tracking us by it.

This. If not eating the broth means he doesn't go into the dungeon with us I think he should eat the broth, simply to keep the party together.MonsterMash wrote:I'd say that if Tacitus eats the broth it would save the deal.

I think Tacitus should try to salvage the situation and eat the broth.
The egg is so going to be on my face when it turns out the broth is actually poisoned.

JS, Wyzard asked that I let you know that he is currently battling insomnia and his posting will be erratic for a bit.

Hard-core insomnia truly sucks. Thankfully I haven't suffered from it since my twenties.

Google style map of the Roman Empire. Thought some of you might find it interesting.

Re: [OOC] Into the Unknown
Does it look like there is enough time left in the day to perform a cursory examination of the structures (i.e. peer into them and see if they are inhabited) or is the sun literally about to go down?
