XIII. Flooded Quarry - Trip Two

Fulp whispers,

I suspect we may need to go with another plan. Let's move out and back in the southern way where Ciar went. He may have found trouble.

[OGRE MAGE]

Sparrow doesn't hear Fulps whispers so he moves up to the next corner 19 to check on Sorsha. He tries to better hear the commotion from the kobold cavern from his new, closer vantage point.

[AleBelly]

Sparrow frowns and whispers quietly to those near him.

Maybe these stupid little creatures are smarter than we thought? Or maybe they just don't understand common?

"I have heard of such intelligent little wretches. Koboldensis tuckerii is the correct taxonomic classification, if I recall." Sylvan pauses.

"We're not going to draw them out. So we either close them off temporarily while we explore the rest of their lair, or we attack. They have positional advantage, but they aren't good fighters. If we assign a kobold or two to each, we should be able to take them down. It will hurt, but I think it will work. I can use the healing wand, so I'll take one on then tend to the wounded. How does that sound?"

Leliana looks a tad annoyed, "Whatever we do, we need to do it quick before they change positions again. Never knew such little bastards could be so annoying."

[onlyme]

Fulp quickly answers
Like Suicide. Only worse. By the time just one of us can get to attacking them, they would already have killed us.

Sparrow misses Fulp's suggestion at retreating to the southern entrance and instead steps forward a bit and draws closer to Sorsha. The forward pair strain to listen down the eastern passageway, where they continues to hear non-descript signs of activity off in the distance, but the sounds remain there without drawing closer.

Fulp signals that he is going toward the southern tunnel and hoping the others follow.

Fulp, intending to follow his previous suggestion, gestures to the rest that he is exiting their current location with plans of exploring the southern entrance.

[OGRE MAGE]

Sparrow soon realizes that the plan is not working in the least and decides to follow along with Fulp.

He tries to get the others attention as well, in case they want to follow.

Im pulling out the torch as soon as I hear any sign of them.

Sylvan follows.

"Gorram!" hisses Sorsha. "You're not supposed to REALLY leave me!" With another look down the tunnel then to Sparrow and Leliana she says "Whatta we do now?"

Leliana is there too! She doesn't know what to do so she follows the others into the southern caves.

Grim will move off to the south when its clear what the others are doing. He looks ahead with infravision if he is able.
He will stop short 20 feet out from any cavern and hold the party there.

The rest of the group follows Fulp out of the northern tunnel and begins making their way towards the southern entrance.

Fulp sighs in relief as he nears the end of the cramped northern tunnel. Emerging from the darkness of the tunnels, he squints and shields his eyes from the bright, early day sun. Sparrow is next. Sylvan is on the verge of exiting, followed by Sorsha, Leliana, and Grim in order, when the familiar voice of Ciar is heard.

"Oh, crap!"

Through a gap in the boulders just outside the exit, Fulp spies their halfling companion running a full speed in their direction "Here they come!" he shouts.

Those having just emerged from the northern tunnel cannot yet see what is pursuing Ciar, but, based on his reaction, they steel themselves for a significant challenge.

Fulp grabs his walking stick and prepares for the onslaught.
Sylvan, be ready with that wand. We will need it.

Sparrow moves away from the entrance to let the others through. if possible, elevating himself again on the rocks at 84

He pulls out his bow as soon as he sees the kobolds chasing Ciar and takes a couple of shots.
