"Oh, crap," says Peaches under her breath. She whispers to Claude to get in front of her and get ready to kill something. She silently prepares to cast a spell that will blow whatever is moaning to smithereens.

Bronn stifles a nervous chuckle. "Note to self: position to the side of the doorway and duck when opening."

He moves forward to guard the closed door behind which the moaning can be heard. "Perhaps some of you should check that room with the failed trap swiftly while a couple of us keep this other door closed. Ubrecht! Prepare yourself, priestling. Judging from the tones emanating from behind this portal, I do believe it will soon be your...TURN!" He waggles his eyebrows again.

Mortiganto guards Dren, assuming that he will be searching the trapped room. He readies his axe and gives Dren the nod.

With Mortiganto at his back, Dren dodges into the crossbow room alert for danger. "At least Mortiganto and Dren have an extra door between the restless dead and them eh?" Her smirks as he dodges into the room.

The irony of his statement fills his stomach with a cold dread as the torchlight spreads throughout the room revealing the walls riddled with burial alcoves. Bones littered the floor and fill the alcoves.

With the words dying in his throat, Dren initially stands perfectly still fearing to trigger some magical alarm that breathes life into these long dead remains. Slowly ... cautiously .... When nothing stirs, Dren edges back out of the room, planning on closing the door and spiking it shut until the active threat is dealt with.

If Ubrecht notices Bronn's pun, his expression does not betray it. He stands stone-faced, watching the door from which the moaning sounds emanate, ready to call upon Moradin's aid.

Nightsong steps quickly with Mortiganto and Dren to check the room. His bow is drawn to cover Dren as they enter the room. Seeing the burial chambers makes Nightsongs heart skip a beat and the whisper he was about to make sputters to nothingness. He sees Dren stop as well. There are several long seconds while he watches Dren for a reaction. As he sees Dren slowly step back from the chamber, he does so as well, and upon exiting covers both doors as best he can as Dren spikes it shut. Once it is spiked, he turns his full attention to the other door, ready to loose an arrow should something come through.

While all the focus is on the burial room, Pyrrhic turns and peers back down the hallway behind them.
Quietly he whispers: "I don't see anything behind us. If there's no way through, we can probably just board it up and come back later."

The door to the alcoves is spiked shut and seems to be holding, though there is no noise coming from within. The door at the end of the hall is holding but whatever it is on the other side is making a lot of noise which is bound to draw unwanted attention.

"Ye might as well open it," says Ubrecht, his holy symbol still at the ready.

Dren scurries forward and gets ready at the door .... "Dren will open it, then will strike at their backs once they are past where I can do most damage ... Be ready on three ..... One ..... Two .... Three!"

Dren throws open the door, hiding behind it with his shorts word drawn.

Pyrrhic wheels around and plants his spear into the stone floor, angled so that -hopefully- whatever comes running out the door will impale itself on his spear.

Peaches nods to Claude, who prepares to defend the mage. Peaches prepares to cast a spell.

Bronn raises his sword and sets his shoulders at whatever may come through the door.

Nightsong takes up position with Pyrrhic, hoping to put an arrow into whatever finds itself on the ends of his spear, hoping the combined damage will put an end to whatever it might be (*and if its on the spear, it will have a hard time dodging an arrow). If nothing ends up on the spear, he plans to take aim at whatever Dren attacks, waiting until just after Dren has pulled back from his attack before firing(hoping that Drens attack will draw attention away from his arrowshot).

The door opens inward so I assume that Dren will step back into one of the hallway corners while the creatures burst out.

Dren throws the door open and four zombies begin to stumble/shuffle out of the room, their moaning nearly deafening in the tight quarters of the hall.

Ubrecht holds his holy symbol forth. "Back, foul creatures! Return to the darkness from which you came!"

Turn Undead: [2d6] = 4, HD: [2d6] = 7

Ubrect readies his mace.

Bronn steels his nerves against the stench of rotting flesh, and waits until the first rank of zombies is close enough to strike. Given the tight quarters of the passage, he chooses to chop downwards in a powerful arc at the zombie attempting to cleave it in one.

Two Handed Sword: To Hit [1d20+2] = 15+2 = 17, To Damage [1d10+2] = 6+2 = 8

Dodging back into the darkness in the corner, Dren wretches at the stench of long decayed flesh that rolls like a wave of putrescence out of the yawning space of the doorway.

Grasping his blade which is hidden from the light within his cloak, Dren holds his breath in the darkness hoping to remain undetected and also to avoid swallowing one of the large black flies that buzz in a cloud around the rotting corpses, shambling out before him.

Dren plans to wait until the zombies have passed, then once they are engaged with the rest of the party, to stab the rearmost in the back.
