Perhaps 1 paladin, 1 fighter/thief, 1 fighter/cleric, 3 clerics, 1 fighter/wizard and 1 wizard.

Ironwill is off the waitlist regardless of Fendt's fate. We lost enough to bring one or two more on board.

Well you very well may be losing one more Zhym. But fresh players helps from time to time. After a year in the game I'm starting to feel like I've had enough Ravenloft.

Sorry to see you go Grey if that is what you mean. If we go in again and we end up with a large number of PC losses perhaps we can run it again with higher levels as a test/hypothetical campaign as a what if we had PC's with above average stats and higher levels and see if we can complete it that way? Just food for thought. Players like to win too. :o) With better than 30% chance of success. :o)

That was Dram's first roll. He posted that roll, then edited it with a re-roll, perhaps thinking the first one didn't count because it said "Initiative." But it was a d6, as asked for, and I'm certain he wouldn't have re-rolled had it come up 5 or 6.

Sorry, man.

It's ok Z the module has made me no longer want to play to be honest. The fun stopped for me a while ago. Least now I know I don't like ravenloft.

Sorry to hear that. I think there's a lot of cool stuff in the module you haven't seen yet. But, like in Tomb of Horrors, it helps if you aren't too attached to your character's survival.

Here's what I think we have coming up for characters now:

Dram (Bragar, C)
Storm11 (Castran, F/I)
Cwreando (Lar, F)
Inferno (Ajax, C/MU)
Ironwill (Rexton, F)
Stirling (Scarlett, F/C?)
Smoke Warrior (?)

I think it might help to throw some henchmen, men-at-arms, apprentices, etc. into the party. They'd add a little power without overbalancing things, and could be backup characters to play if (when?) your main character is killed. But having a henchman for every character might be a bit much to keep track of. Or maybe not. Any thoughts on that?

If we are smart and prepared we may do it.

With Madame Eva's protection potions gone and the sunsword we are now at a distinct disadvantage. Negative plane protection spells are really important now I think.

Plus if you allowed us to buy things like holy water that might make a difference.

Without the druids reflecting pool we are gonna struggle to find Ireena.

If the magic-users have some descent spells that could be a HUGE help in Ravenloft.

Unfortunately I am the type of player that never makes a character he is not into or overly attached too. So then Really I don't belong in a game of this nature. Tomb of Horrors I made a character I wasn't entirely into but really fell into the essence of the strange mage and now am fairly fond of him as well. So see even with out the intent I did manage to enjoy the odd mage and his pigeon. Fendt on the other hand is one of my favorite old characters I used to play as when i was a kid just normally he is a ranger not a fighter/MU. But alas he is dead here and still alive in another realm as a ranger.

Hmmm I would make a bad ass like BLADE lol if only. That may be the only way to play this game. Only way worth staying is as well from my experience would need to have someone like Blade on the team.

Ravenloft is great !!! and has been admirably built up, beautiful maps and background story setting by Zhym, and puts the characters at a disadvantage from the start so we have to compete together and overcome through adversity before we become legends of our own making. If Agrippo had not fumbled a charm roll or Vorkath had saved vs the banshee we would be in total different positions, rolls of the dice favour or penalise the party but that is what gaming is about and characters live and die by them. You can win Ravenloft by all becoming a party of hippy druids if you play well enough or even fail despite being the most knightly paladins in shining armour.

I for one will play on if only to discover that Tumbler has become the new accountant in the burnt out office and Melampus is playing Mozart tunes on the (also burned) organ. Agrippo may well be working on baby number 15 as we speak...?

I don't like honcho's in a party, just roll up a second character. Familiars are okay but too many distracts and everyone wants one.

Scarlett is a cleric /rogue.

Ravenloft and the surviving group and the charmed trio and Ireena are not done yet!

The Ravenloft style of game isn't for everyone. No point in frustrating yourself if you aren't enjoying it.

Here's the updated list of what I think we have for characters:

Dram (Bragar, C6)
Storm11 (Castran, F5/I5)
Cwreando (Lar, F)
Inferno (Ajax, C/MU)
Ironwill (Rexton, F)
Stirling (Scarlett, C/T)
Smoke Warrior (?)
Computer +1 (C)

I'm thinking that with that many characters, the new PCs should start with 40,000 XP each.

Don't lower the xp. The more I'm reading on here, the more I'm beginning to think this game isn't for me. I'd rather duck out now than find out I hate it further in and feel like ditching. I, too, become attached to my characters. With the rate of death happening in this Campaign, I don't think I'd be able to keep from getting frustrated. Good luck people, and hopefully I can find something closer to my playstyle.

FWIW, 40,000 is a bit more than stated module level. It's enough for most characters to be level 6, while the module would have 8 characters be level 5.

okay 40K in XP ! I will edit Scarlett as it may mean she gains a level. Just looked and must admit to resisting the temptation to power game by splitting the XP 12K thief and 28K cleric for a level gain in each!! more sneak and more spells...hmmm what should I do....okay will just add 10K to cleric class and trust the DM 'gods' reward her diligence with a nice 'gucci' blessing. ;)

Thanks Zhym. That makes Agax a level 5/4 Cleric/Magic-User.

If Smoke Warrior isn't a single class MU, I may become one so we might get access to third level spells. Will have a think about it.

hmm to make something I would not be attached to it'd have to have had it's tongue cut out and be essentially a mute..... I think I "could" pull that off.....and it'd have to be a bard  that never sings? is that even possible?

A bard that doesn't sing. That's an interesting idea. I'm not sure how that would work. Maybe the bard's art form is interpretive dance? :D

If he's a mime, the party may kill him before he ever meets Strahd.
