Welcome to Autumndale
Re: Welcome to Autumndale
"Time to figure out shifts again," Cilian says, nervously patting the pocket with the amulet...

"Not sure how much further we have ta go. Can you tell by the amulet, Cil?" he queries of his wizardly friend.
Vik offers to take his previous shift, if that continued rotation is still okay with the others. Once they find a suitable spot, he'll look to picket, feed and rub down the horses. "Ya'all think we can afford a fire tonight? Might get pretty cold," he offers, looking about to the others to see what they think.

Cilian shakes his head and frowns, "No, it just gives me directions. And it doesn't even use anything but the four cardinal ones..."

Thor told him to take these...
light, command, bless, resist cold
Osric looks around at his friends......
they have been getting bumps as bruises for as far back as he can remember.
Can he substitute cure lights for these at whim?
If not he will wonder what strange plan the gods have laid, and he will not question the choices, at least not for the first night.

Serg is fine with sticking to the same shift order.Argennian wrote: Vik offers to take his previous shift, if that continued rotation is still okay with the others. We need fire, there's no need to freeze to death. The mongers and its creatures have proven to be very competent in finding us so I will be surprised if the night is uneventful. We should all keep our arms close and be prepared.

you can substitute CLW for any 1st level spell you have memorized.
Re: Welcome to Autumndale
When the scroll of this day is read, I am certain it will not be filled with our shift rotations and firebuilding skills.
I care not. I will help if asked of.
Osric does his best to study the sky, the vegetation and the lay of the land.

OOC: looks like we don't. Lets set one up.
Cilian will take last watch so he can study his spells as soon as possible in the morning.

Re: Welcome to Autumndale
Tub's fine with watching with someone in the middle. No spells means I don't have to worry.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Re: Welcome to Autumndale
Serg suggests that Cil and Osric are kept out of watch so they can have complete rest and be fit in the morning for their morning prayers / studies.
He will then suggest the following order, which we could use as a standard if everyone agrees. 6 hours sleep for each:
Serg
Scy
Tub
Vik

Re: Welcome to Autumndale
I will go with the above schedule.
it continues to snow through the night as the temp drops. the greoup sleeps close to the fire to try and keep warm, but at least the night passes uneventful.

Re: Welcome to Autumndale
After prayers, Osric keeps the same spells and welcomes the first real snowfall of the season.
He looks over the others. He has needed to do little to heal them, but he feels that that will soon change.

Re: Welcome to Autumndale
Viktor helps get the horses fed and sorted while everyone's waking up. He checks the forecast while doing so to see what's in store before returning to the fire for a morning bite.
"Wonder how much further that damn temple is," he complains over his trail rations.

Sooner we get moving, Tub says wearily, the sooner something strange comes to kill us, or ambush us, or storm on us...

Re: Welcome to Autumndale
Cilian puts the pendant around his neck and then quickly removes it after he gets the direction from it.
"I wonder if it is only good for finding the one temple, or if it works to find more than one. What will make it stop trying to find the one we're nearest, i wonder... Or do we have to get far enough away that it starts indicating some other temple? I guess..." he trails off in a mumble as he ponders the pendant while breaking camp.

"We will find out once we have destroyed the first temple..." Serg says, a mocking smile in his face.
Re: Welcome to Autumndale
Again the pendent calls for the east.
The party sets out for another days journey. After a few hours the terrain begins to become hilly and rocky, after another hour it begins to become so rough the cart cna no longer tranverse it.

Re: Welcome to Autumndale
Should one of us scout up ahead, over that nasty hill perhaps? But stay in eyesight. And another thing, if the temple is underground, would the amulet direct you up and down? As if when directly above it? Osric shrugs as if out of suggetions.
