ooc...Before actions can you post what characters are still with us? People seem to come and go a lot :D
DM:
Eldarial
Krylina Vrygina - Currently captured near you all being forced up the ramp
Fruldrick
Uriel
Rolfo
Bronn
Crow
Darvin
Goratrix & Kunno(Maybe I haven't heard from these 2 in a while)

The beastmen outnumber you by a large amount you might find luck in some of the captured townsfolk aiding you as you free them though.

Also this song is fitting for this scene http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy0XSwHpGiA

Eldarial stares in shock at the scene on the ziggurat, shaking her head. "We have to save those people. The longer we delay, the more lives die horribly in some sick and twisted ritual. Gods be good! We have to put a stop to this!"

"Are you blind, woman?" says Goratrix to the elven lass, "There is no way we can beat such a mass of foes!"

DM: You believe though difficult you could sneak/climb around the outside of the ziggurat though it would be increasingly difficult the higher you climbed.

Fruldrick, Halfling

Wide-eyed, Fruldrick looks at the elven woman and whispers in panic, "For all that is holy don't get their attention or that will be us taken to the top of that thing!"

Fruldrick looks back to the ziggurat and tries to get rough head-count of the beast-men.

Eldarial looks at the halfling and then back to the ziggurat > "You think we could climb the outside of it and maybe sneak all the way to the top? If so, we could make a surprise attack on whoever is up there. They'd never expect that!"

Crow draws his short sword with his left hand, swings it in an impressive display, and says to Darvin with a smile, "Lend me your short sword, I'm going to need it, a lot. Especially if I'm going to keep those beast men at bay while you throw your magics at them."

Note that Darvin doesnt have his spells yet. You have to study a week per spell per spell level and I forgot I believe there is also a rolle to make sure you even learn the spell. Ive been slacking on class write ups.ill try to get to those .soon

Rolfo eyes the silhouette on top of the ziggurat. "My vote is to free those people and lead them against their captors. Let's see, how many of them can we free...?" Rolfo spends a moment comparing the number of captives to captors.

Goratrix is beginning to think everyone is going to die here in this accursed cavern. Alone, and unknown. Then again, he has been known to be wrong in the past about his hunches.

For every monstrosity you see there is a captive being pushed up the ziggurat. It's unclear if anymore reside at the top.

Krylina the Doomed Harlot of Cinton / Ziggurat

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, oh my god, ohmygod!, ohmygod!," screams the harlot of Cinton, who does indeed seemed doomed at the moment. She struggles, tugs, kicks, bites, spits to escape but every time she almost gets free the beast digs its talons into her flesh and shoves her onward.
[1d20-2] = 15-2 = 13 Krylina's DC 15 Str check to break free

DM: Every strength check failure is 15 feet of movement further up the ziggurat.

OOC: Nice "old-school" map, AQ!!

Eldarial points upward and says, "There is where we need to go! There are just a few of the beast men > maybe three. We can overwhelm them and help free the prisoners! You all can stand here gawking, but for every second we wait, another poor soul is sacrificed to some sick, evil god. I'm going > with or without you!"

And with that, Eldarial grips her spear, gives one last look at her companions, and prepares to jump overboard and swim to the ziggurat if need be.

You dont have to swim you can basically start yourself on the first row of squares as far as movement goes. You will all get 1 action in a surprise round before I roll initiatives.

"Dammit, the elf-woman has gone insane on us. Mayhap she caught too much sun in her head?" thinks Goratrix, oblivious to the fact they are all standing underground.

At Eldarial's ultimatum he responds:

"Merciful Gods! There's an entire army of'em out there. We'll all be slain if we go hand-to-hand, and we cannot use missiles for fear of hitting the prisoners, further..."

Then he hears a female scream pierce the air, and looking towards the ziggurat he sees the shapely, alluring and most terrified form of Krylina being dragged/pushed forward by a clawed beastman.

"...and further, I think we should stop all this japering and get ourselves there to aid her...I mean them."

Then he stands by Eldarial's side holding his staff. "I just wish i hadn't wasted my damn spear back there."

ooc: if I may offer some editing advice, and this isn't a problem exclusive to this campaign, I'd suggest sizing any uploaded pics to properly fit the threads and avoid stretching them sideways, as that is a bit aggravating and makes navigation harder. I use TinyPic.com myself, you just select the option to size a large pic down to chatboard size (680x480) and Bob's your uncle.

Eldarial looks at Goratrix and smiles. "If I knew how to use that staff, I would trade you for my spear. Seems I'm not very adept at stabbing things. Maybe I'm better at whacking."

She seems not to notice how her choice of words may be taken by a male, instead she is focused on the struggling prisoners. "I say we attack there," she points at B1 & B2. "Ready? Let's go!"

Fruldrick, Halfling

Fruldrick, with fear in his eyes, climbs out of the boat and follows Goratrix and Eldarial. He draws his scissors and says, "I suppose it is better to die fighting than to die a sacrifice".
