"Let's just camp here for the evening? I need a break. And we should have two people per shift, for longer shifts, from now on."

Cillian starts looking around for any dry or semi-dry firewood he can find. He does not, however, leave sight of the wagon or the rest of the party.

Whew, I feel like I haven't seen this cart in a year and 2 months! Tub says stretching.
:D
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!

Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Still feeling horrid for nearly falling asleep and getting one of his mates killed, Viktor agrees with the two-person/shift watch from here on out. "Aye, let us keep watch two at a time. That way I, err... I mean we, will stand a better chance of hopefully not getting caught by surprise again!"

OOC: is everyone okay with the following?

Watch Rotation:
1. (6pm to 10pm) Sergius & Tub
2. (10pm to 2am) Vik & Scythius
3. (2am to 6am) Johansen & Cilian
(Note: Osric recovering and not taking a watch shift)
Yosef Travathas: High Elf Fighter4/Magic-User3 (rredmond's Pacesetter Games "Legacy of the Unknown" OSRIC Playtest)
Brok Sterling: Human Assassin3 (ToniXX's Incursion into Newiron OSRIC Playtest)
Tanik Tremwoodak: Dwarf Cleric3 (Dave's 1e Skype Game)

DM: home-brew OSRIC "A New Hope to the West" campaign

Fireball... good!!

"What's it gonna take?"
"Everything."

No issues here.

"Two it is," Sythius agrees. Not normally one for encouragement, he looks to his downtrodden comrade: "Looking forward to standing watch with you, Vik." he says sincerely.

Vik looks up at his childhood friend and smiles his understanding. "Thanks, Scy. I mean to be ready this time," he promises aloud as he looks over to Osric and then the surrounding terrain.

The young churl checks his weapons and takes up a position near the cart and their wounded mate. "Oh, forgot to mention. That Death Monger Bug-Thing we killed? Wasn't the same one that Tub and me seen back on that cliff. That one was much bigger and much quicker. Probably would have killed us all, that one. Wonder how many of them devil-spawns be about this accursed place? Sure didn't have no trouble finding us, did they?" he queries aloud to no one in particular, already gritting his teeth in anger and near choking on his feelings of desperation.

OOC: Wolf, not sure if Johansen took possession of the wicked-edged broadsword we acquired. If not, then Vik will carry it.

"I've been wondering about that,"Cillian mentions casually. "Seems like we had three different things come at us, all marked with that weird skull thing. Do you think there is something one of us has that they are drawn to? Or just bad luck on our part?"

Viktor's eyes get wide and he looks back up at Cillian with a look of dread. "The displacer beast hairs we be carrying mayhap? That other Death Monger Bug, the big one, he grabbed up a handfull of it's hairs too. Could they be needing them like we does? I know not what else there could be we got. Other than that wicked-looking sword we took of the one we killed, do one of us have something used to belong to them?" he queries, looking around at each of his companions desperately.

Looking over each of the party members in turn, Cillian's eyes are drawn to Sergius's obsidian-tipped spear, the only thing out-of-place in a sea of otherwise normal gear.

"Serg... where did you get that spear, again?"

I took this on our first adventure on the caves. Sergius holds the spear up and looks at it for a few moments Could it be attracting them to us? I had no special reasons to keep it other than thinking it looked nice. I guess it is better if I get rid of it...
I'm ok with the suggested watch

The night passes uneventful, and the party begins their journey home.

There is no out of the ordinary encounters over the next two days as you arrive back in rashtan.

Spell casters can memorize spells, and Osric could have healed everyone back to max.

As you arrive back in town you see a lot of commotion as it appears many of the locals are gathered and armed.

Let's check out the reason for such unrest. Serg says and moves on in the direction of the crowd.

Don't know if that was necessary or not. Just tossing ideas out there. Might have nothing at all to do with the spear.

yup, probably nothing to do with it but it made sense in-character. And Serg has 2 other spears to carry around. ;)

You find out the local farmers have been called to town and sworn in as militia by the soldeirs that are quatered in town. there are also rumors that there are Sentinals on the way to Rashtan.

Sentinals are specialy trained warrior priests of the church of odin. Considered very powerful, but most places don't like their presence as they enforce church rules wherever they go.

Everyone recieves 850 xp for the adventure and an additional 100 xp for the number of posts

Scythius privately wonders how long before these so-called Sentinals arrive, but does not lend voice to this query of his.

"What now?" he asks to no one in particular.
