"Given the relatively close location and hope that there would be something more underground, I would recommend that we travel there on foot."

Passive Prescience triggered, make a Skill Improvement roll for Prescience (1d100+17, 35+ increase ML by 1).
Arngier nods

"We be careful then, not wander off on own. The hill on other side..." he gestures across the vale "...is odd, should check it out, somewhen. Lead us to tower then."

Agree on foot, will just have to carry the treasure :)

Lharzin grows quiet as she looks down at the valley. Her fingers fidget, counting through beads of stone and bone tokens on her woven bracelet.

Casting the spell to locate the nearest dimensional rift.
Spell [1d100]=52

Eye of Kemdal, EML = 51-5 = 46, marginal failure, you gain 1 fatigue point. Note focuses don't modify Neutral spells. FP recover at 1 per 20 minutes of rest (no strenuous activity) or 1 per 10 minutes of sleep. You can attempt again with another -5 for the FP or wait for it to go away.

Lharzin fails to get her spell off and feels a bit drained after her failed attempt.

Spell (41) [1d100]=90

Lharzin focuses harder, trying to overcome the clouding in her mind from the Valley's eminations.

After that, hopefully our walking around the site is 'non-strenuous' activity.

Critical Failure. Now things get interesting. First roll a Skill Improvement roll for Neutral Convocation. 1d100+17, 52+ increase ML to 52.

Misfire roll. As this is a passive spell (and not violent) things are unlikely to go so bad someone gets killed.

Misfire roll [1d100]=100

I apparently lied, this is very bad. 100 (and only 100) is a Total Release. Thankfully the spell is Neutral, which causes it to open a Nexus to another location. Think a random Teleport, potentially involving another plane. As you are currently standing a short distance from a Basari Point (a natural gate to other planes) I will rule you just opened up the gate. I will think on this and get a post up soon detailing exactly what happens next.
