Orgoth

Orgoth steps up and attacks the zombie closest to the door with his spear (trying to keep them pinned in from a distance, thus the spear).

Sven pats his magic box, hoping it works again, eventually.
With the press of zombies to clatter the bars as you put your hands through, can you add a dex save to keep hold if it please.
I didn’t mean he was going to use it again right away. Just that he was going to refill it with another toenail before we dispose of the trolls body.

Sven is keeping his distance from the cage.

Gideon will position himself to provide cover for Cosmo,Sigrid, and Gerdal. Shield and morningstar at the ready for anything hostile entering melee range.

Sigrid

Sigrid, horrified at the cruelty inflicted on the troll and his cries for death, wishes she could do something to end his pain, though helpless to do so. She places her one slim hand flat on Gideon's right ear and leans her face close to his left ear, the ring in her nose brushing the top of his ear as she whispers, her breath soft and warm, "vǫxtr styrkr,". Casting Strength.

"Slay the draugr, we can take care of ourselves noble goði," she says to Gideon. She then begins to sing loudly in trollish, a war-song called Bale of the Storm-Sun as she dances behind the priest.

Gerdal does not seem to be that bothered by the infernal screaming and bloodshed from the cell, peeking forward to see how things are going.

"Oh dear. That's one, two....three down? I don't like to waste holy water, but maybe we should throw one in there? It should splash nicely against the wall and catch a lot of them?" OOC: remember Gerdal can turn them into disease/poison antidotes

She presents a flask of holy water to whichever agile warrior (with good THACO + DEX bonus) wants to throw it on the pile of zombies.

Patra-Patra seems not-too-comfortable in the confined spaces of the Barrowmaze, but does not flip when hearing the groans and sound of meat being torn off limbs. She draws a short sword or dagger carved out of a bone, or tusk, and looks warily in circles around her. Like a prowling animal.

With both groups currently all bunched up together, I thought it might be easier if you had some idea of our intentions, in case you want to have two different groups tackling things at the same time.

Finish off the zombies (stashing their bodies in the room with the other dead things)
Keep the troll from regenerating by continually stabbing it
Check the other two doors/rooms in this hallway (pretty sure we peeked inside last time, but didn’t enter)
Check the cage room walls, floor, and ceiling for secret doors etc.
Regroup in safety with a bunch of new treasure

Barrowmaze: blood and guts and bones ...

I forgot to add Patra-patra and Sundance to the visual so I will put both of those down the corridor by the Rat Room helping shift gear.

Holy H2O: [1d20]=2 [1d6+1]=2+1=3Gideon: strength spell increase [1d6]=4

Cosmo equips some oil flasks from a crate, informing the npc's in the corridor of the incident nearby. It should be under control with minimal fuss, but one can never tell for sure ...

Gerdal throws her holy H2O flask to Isvand who cracks it open, throwing it at the Ravenous zombie that is impaled mid-meal by the spear thrust through its chest from Orgoth. The beast rises, clawing itself along the spear shaft to try and reach the warrior but is splashed with the holy water that burns into its body and withers its necrotic undead spirit. It faintly claws to grasp the half-orc but his touch is only caressing not raking. Orgoth withdraws the spear with a twist and batters the body aside. Either side of him stand two sentinels of St Ygg, invigorated with a righteous vengeance towards Undead in any form. Sir Dewey's shield shines light that dazzles the corridor. Gideon receives the benefit of Sigrid's blessing, her Strength spell bulking out the priest Str 16 for 3 hours.

The feasting Ravenous are beset by the fury of a summoned swarm of long-tailed, whiskered critters. The rats nip and bite to harass the zombie cellmates. The zombies though are provoked from their feeding frenzy and rise with trollish bones in hand to surge at the open cell door. The quintet spill out in the corridor to assail characters nearby, two go right towards SD, two go left and grapple those in the corridor turn and the last one towards 'Ratmaster' Sven and Orgoth.

Actions, enough zombies for everyone to have a go at! Give me an attack roll each please. Include rolls for your NPC aides if they are nearby. Any surviving zombies are hindered by the shield effect and the rats on them.

Meanwhile, Troll-head laments his portion in life, cursing the zombies and the characters in painful shrieks of condemnation and prayer to Orcus. Sigrid tries to sooth his suffering singing a barbarian, trollish skaldic hymn.

"Troll kalla mik
trungl sjǫtrungnis,
auðsug jǫtuns,
élsólar bǫl,
vilsinn vǫlu,
vǫrð nafjarðar,
hvélsveg himins –
hvat's troll nema þat?"

The Troll-head calls to you above the noise and mayhem.

Actions everyone please

Gideon

Slightly taken aback, and unsure if it was the words or the messenger, Gideon's distaste for the undead boils over as his morning star suddenly feels lighter and more lethal.
"In the name of St. Ygg, return to the darkness from which you were raised!"

Sigrid

Sigrid continues her song, even as the troll speaks to her over the din. His promise is not what motivates her, it is his pain and despair. She quickly removes her cloak and wraps it tightly around the top of her staff. She then removes the three flasks of oil from her backpack and pouring each out, soaks the cloak in the dark liquid. Moving closer to the cage, she strikes her tinderbox at the edge of the cloak causing it to burst into flames and thrusts her staff between the bars to reach the remains of the troll.

Exploring the 'de Ogilvy' Corridors

The five Ravenous zombies burst out of the cell, "freedom, food." they gnash and pounce upon the comrades.

Orgoth stabs at one, missing but hammering with his shield back into the cell where Sven causes it to implode with piercing Magic Missile attacks. -10hp. Spitting blood and troll flesh, the Ravenous leaps back to ravish upon them.

One zombie runs into a hail of thrown daggers from Gerdal & Cosmo, impaled three times, bleeding from multiple wounds it crashes into the them by the corner. -4, -3, -1hp, relentlessly it claws at the dagger throwers.

Gideon flails with his domain mace, Sigrid bathes her cloak in oil. She considers wrapping the screaming Troll-head in the garment and immolating it in a fiery requiem to its prayerful torment. As she prepares that action, the Ravenous strikes out at one of the pair.

Isvand gets off a volley of arrows but he and his bow are parried aside, the Ravenous tearing at his favoured bearskin cloak, snarling like a grizzly himself.

Sir Dewey advances to strike and Copperpiece triggers his crossbow. The paladin wounds the Ravenous, barging it with his shield to advantage his squire. -4hp & -11hp, deceased.

Copperpiece: heavy crossbow damage [2d6]=11

It is the only fatal blow among the many wounds. These Ravenous look extra energised from the portions of troll-flesh they have feasted upon.

Ravenous Dead: vs SD [1d20-1]=8-1=7[1d8]=3 vs Is [1d20-1]=10-1=9[1d8]=3Ravenous Dead: vs Sv or Org [1d2]=1 [1d20-1]=1-1=0[1d8]=2 vs Cos or Ger [1d2]=1 [1d20-1]=13-1=12[1d8]=6Ravenous Dead: vs Gid or Sig [1d2]=2 [1d20-1]=10-1=9[1d8]=3

Cosmo, -6hp and Sigrid, -3hp are both raked by long nails and bitten as the Ravenous choose the choicest rare flesh from the offerings presented.

Troll-head continues his screams, his prayers to Orcus, his regeneration.

next attacks on the quartet of injured zombies left.

Gerdal you can act for PP too who is in the corridor and Sven can bring in Amos if you wish.
