Daisy gasps as she sees what's going on with Maag. She walks quickly to stand beside him, scowling at the 'man'. Ah'll thank you to get your hands off'n my friend. He ain't necessarily a good guy, but he's one of ours.
She takes Maag's hand. Maag, darlin'- time to wake up.

Daisy is just hoping she can help Maag break whatever enchantment he's under- she doesn't have any miracles to apply.

"I like the thought of an experiment, but let me suggest another option." The Princess tries to reengage the creature, diverting him from his fun. "You clearly have experience with the void. I wonder if you have been held here, or escaped here. Do you know the Master? Or perhaps the dragon?"

"Instead of an experiment with known results, I suggest a joint collaboration. With all of us. Outside of here is an Island teaming with life. Almost too much, really. How would your kind fare in such a place? Or would that also have known results?"

"What wouldn't have known results is manipulating that diagram and what it means. I have suspicions, do you?"

Activation Station II, Cold And Dark
The Basement


When Darklin and Daisy move forward to protect their thief, the figure keeps his eyes trained on the elf, but clearly finds humor in Daisy's spunk. He pulls his chains away from Maag and holds his hands up in the air for a moment. "I apologize little one. I had no idea he was yours. My aren't you the feisty one for such a small thing?"

Not taking his eyes off Darklin, he lets Daisy lead Maag away while he motions for the elf to come closer, which he does. Maag suddenly regains his own faculties, but the cold rushing through the half-orc is still quite painful. Once Princess makes her counter offer, the figure looks back at the diagram and the sconces.

"No doubt the diagram has something to do with this island you speak of? I cant say for certain myself, but I also have my suspicions. I have met a few dragons, but the only Master I know of is me, of course. Tell me, on this island of yours, are there sandy beaches and tall palm trees? A veritable paradise in the sun, as it were? Perhaps you could show me how you get there before we decide on any collaborations?"

He stops for a moment, looking back at everyone standing there watching this all take place. "And you have something in your possession that goes with these sconces, I believe? Don't be afraid, friends. Step forward and do what you must. I dont think I can go to this island of yours, but that doesn't mean we cant all remain cordial with one another."

She chuckles at the idyllic image the creature puts forth. "It does have that, for sure. But also a distinct lack of proper amenities. Not a footman in sight."

"What is restraining you? Does the void tether you? I would show you the way if you would like. But as you said, we do have things to do here."

The Princess turns to her friends and nods. "Place it. And be prepared."

There are 2 sconces, one on each side of the diagram on the wall.

I will need to know which activation sphere you intend to place into which holder.

Will place the Sea Green sphere first with his right hand and then the White one with his left hand. (as noted in the diagram)

Daisy makes an adorable attempt at a cold glare. Ya'll don't know the half of it, darlin'. We Halflings are all feisty and a yard tall.
Oh, an' Darklin isn't your playtoy, either.
She walks toward Darklin, intending to make sure he's free to act on his own.

Activation Station II, Cold And Dark
Outmatched In The Basement


As Maag mumbles under his bad breath, the abnormally tall figure clad in gold studies Wake's movements with great interest. The cleric drops the green sphere into the right sconce, causing a green light on the diagram to suddenly appear. He drops the white activation sphere into the next sconce, and as expected, the white light on the diagram starts to glow as well. According to past wisdom, it seems he has just activated 2 more of the islands strange obelisks.

Princess continues her talk with the man from the void, but he is clearly focused on the stones and the diagram. "I don't believe I am tethered here, but until now, I had no way out, you see. So what happens with these lights? What did you just do here?"

When Daisy makes another break for the dumbfounded Darklin, who is now just standing there saying nothing, the golden hued host seems to get a bit more upset this time. He grabs Darklin by the arm and flings the elf behind him violently with a strength that easily matches Maags own, and likely even surpasses it. He growls down at Daisy to indicate who will be next unless she backs away. Darklin hits the wall behind him and stays put near the earthy patch on the floor. (If Darklin is still with us, I will allow him another Saving throw vs. Spells to break this charm.)

Sneering at Daisy, the tall figure continues speaking. "I think it is time you all understand something. Nothing you do in here will be free. There is a cost for everything, you see. The cost of the information you have learned here today will be one life." He points to the cowering elf behind him. "Today it will be his, tomorrow it might be yours, but there will always be a price."

He looks down from his dais with a growing smirk on his pretty face. "Do not put your own lives at risk for this one. His fate is now sealed, and he will stay here with me forever. If you would like to argue, I could always keep another as well. Any volunteers?" The arrogance of this creature is surely an indication of its sheer power. The whole affair sends an unwholesome tingle up your spines.

Wake

As Wake puts in the stones into the "correct" places and sees the expected lights activate, he will smile at the golden boy demanding payments for questions and then showing his lack of understanding and asking more of his own.

Wake looks to Darklin eyes for the answer as to what to do next. Does Darklin after being thrown show love and admiration to this golden boy or fear and anger in his eyes and on his face? Whatever he sees he knows that there will be disappointment for Darklin. If Wake sees love for the golden boy in his eyes then the golden boy will need to be taken down a peg. If Darklin shows anger it will be time to flee and not attack the golden boy.

Depending on what he sees he will call out the command of "Run" (if Darklin seems free from the charm) or "Attack" (if Darklin seems charmed still). Wake will follow his own command without question.

Yrias is relieved that it wasn't himself the one chosen to stay but he doesn't like it either that one of them has to stay. He has felt the power of this being and the fear that started brewing in his entrails still has a good on him.

Something comes to mind though, since this being is bound to this place, maybe it can't even move from where he is standing? He tries to recall if he even made a step to any direction since they arrived.

I have been under the weather Covid got me and with my Immune system down from the Radiation it took it's toll.

She raises a brow at the new information. "Interesting. But now that I think on it, I would have made the same choice." She smiles at the golden creature. "Having a house elf around does make things more enjoyable."

"But now that we can agree that this is a negotiation, let's start. You offer him as payment for the information we've already gained. I'll counter with new information for him. I can tell you exactly what those lights and orbs are for."

The Princess stands calmly with he hand on her hip, eager to enter into high-stakes negotiations.
