2 Dam? It must be a Lawn Dart! LOL!

Snorri attempts to enter the fray…

Battle In The Ruined Warlords Palace

Akhilleus and Drest fight for their lives against 6 enraged slaves while their friends slowly arrive after following them through the rubble strewn opening. Valkrina easily slithers her lithe form through the sandy hazards to find the battle already raging below. Xenos follows next, unsure what is happening below. He concentrates on his decent, able to keep his feet all the way to the bottom where he finds a crowded and chaotic scene.

Cyril and Snorri climb to the top of the sand covered wall, awaiting their turn to descend. The brutish Viking rushes his entry, floundering into the steep hole behind the others and losing his balance in the shifting sands. Cyril can only watch as the large man slips below, awaiting his own turn to enter. (neither can attack yet)

Drest grits his rotten teeth and blinks away the sleepy effects from the poison coursing through his neck. He steps forward swinging his blade wildly, but gets clobbered by 2 club attacks for his effort instead. 5 dam

Akhilleus rushes forward towards the back ranks, making room for those entering the chaos behind him. He is intercepted by a pair of ax wielding attackers, who the professional fighter makes quick work of. Though he is cut once in the process 4 dam, his sharp sword easily rips through the bare flesh of these desert slaves, spraying gouts of hot crimson that decorate the drab, broken sandstone. 2 more darts ricochet off his scale armor as the blood soaked Kimmerian looks in that direction next. (your post suggests non-lethal combat but your rolls are quite deadly) :D

Xenos

Seeing the bodies lying at the feet of Akhilleus, Xenos moves to support Drest, attempting to strike one of the scout's foes:

Valkrina

Valkrina: uses Move Silently vs >6:12 [1d12]=6

Valkrina uses Hypnotism: number affected [1d6]=3

The bard looks over the rubble at the scene and tries to work out the best way she can help. So if she can sneak closer without being heard to gain surprise by arriving behind the group of slaves, she will then mesmerise them with her entrancing gaze.

Speaking in Esquimaux and Ixian, she utters the words , "Peace, be still, no harm will come to you. Come away over here". she flutters eyelids and clicks her fingers at a trio of slaves.

so the Hypnotism cast upon agitated or aggressive opponents allows them a +1 to +3 save vs spells at DM discretion. I am trying to offset that by gaining surprise via the sneak move to take them unawares.

Battle In The Ruined Warlords Palace

Cyril watches Snorri trip his way to the bottom with the others, floundering once below and unable to get in any attacks. The priest of Azathoth finally has a clear path for his own descent, if he wishes to join the others. (still need that Test of Dex roll [d6])

Akhilleus quickly kills 2 more of the 6 attackers, the highly trained fighter seems no match against these unarmored renegade slaves. This also disrupts the dart firing duo, causing them to toss their tubes aside and join in the melee. Their eyes are crazed and determined, with no hint of surrender.

Though no damage is done to the party this time, Drest and Xenos continue attacking, the latter dropping another combatant to the ground, giving Valkrina a moment to shine as well.

The bard stares at the rapidly dropping attackers, her eyes fogging over and becoming kaleidoscopic. She intones deep vibrations from her throat that causes the final aggressor to stop what he is doing and stare at the Esquimaux with a blank expression on his once crazed, pointy toothed face.

The 20 non-combatant slaves (in rooms 3/4) continue to cower as they scream and wail, the woman and children reacting very loudly to the unadulterated violence they see laid out before them. The disheveled group looks around for a place to escape, but don't try anything foolish against such dangerous intruders.

Cyril

"Fine work down there. I will be down in a jiffy." He begins picking his way down, using his quarterstaff for balance.

Snorri

If the Viking was pissed at missing a chance at mayhem by his axe due to losing his balance in the shifting sand, He hid it well.

Snorri warily ignores the females and their children as he quickly looks around for other entrances that might disgorge more rebellious slaves.

Akhilleus cleans his blade on one of the slaves' clothes. He doesn't sheath it yet, just in case, and remains vigilant.

"I don't like to kill people in front of their families, but they chose their own fate.

Someone talk to the women here and try to calm them down and maybe get some information. I'm not good at that. "

Xenos looks over to the women and children

"You will not be harmed if you do not cause trouble." he gestures to the bodies "We did not want this, you attacked us. Is there someone here who can speak for you?"

(he repeats the above in Ixian)

Valkrina

The hypnotized one is subject to further Suggestion and I would rather you didn't tie him up. Instead let me influence him to leave for Xambaala and take the women and children in tow with him across the desert. Better they chance their future in the city than staying here. Can we trust them not to expose us once we start to search the fortress?

Let us send them all away.

Battle Rages In The Open Courtyard
Ruined Warlords Palace

Drest badly desires to tie up the final living enemy, but realizes he has no cordage on him.

Xenos tries to shout over the screaming slaves, attempting to ascertain if they have a leader.

Cyril skitters down the wreckage to join the group, keeping his feet to arrive at the bloody carnage his friends just caused below.

The once crazed renegade slave stares at the hypnotic looking Valkrina, awaiting her instruction.

Akhilleus and Snorri remain on full alert, wisely scanning the area for any more trouble after their raucous skirmish. It takes mere seconds to find what they seek, when the door across the open-air courtyard bursts open, releasing a second deluge of blood thirsty slaves, armed with hand ax and club. Four more of these pointy teethed, loincloth clad slaves enter the open-air courtyard through the archway next to the open door, aiming more of the dangerous long tubes at the oncoming invaders.

Actions!

It might be quicker for everyone to include a Save vs. Poison with your action, just in case.

Drest

Drest will attack a blowgun wielder if possible, if not he tries to get behind some rubble for cover from them and defends himself against whoever comes.

Short Sword [1d20]=10 to hit [1d6+1]=6+1=7 damage

save vs Poison (15) [1d20+1]=5+1=6

Xenos

Cursing the arrival of more armed slaves, Xenos grabs a javelin and moves through the rubble (one sq N then one NW) and throws the javelin (nominally at the slave to the east of the top yellow arrow, unless he moves and another is a clearer target)

Initiative: [1d6]=5

Javelin: to-hit [1d20+2]=13+2=15; dmg [1d4+2]=1+2=3

Just in case, poison save:

Death save (16): [1d20]=11

Valkrina

Valkrina: random save, (+2 vs devices & avoidance) [1d20]=1

"Take the women and children away." she will gesture at the hypnotized slave to shepherd the non-combatants away from the courtyard and out of the breached wall in the fortress. If she needs to, she will lead him by his chain towards that area and by default shield her from any targeting by the dart blowers.
