Xenos

"You! You lying, conniving..." he bites his tongue and seems to calm slightly "You lied to get us here, this is all your fault. What do you want with us, witch?"

Valkrina

"So milady, we are here to collect lotus blossoms. Spell compounds, material for witchery.

The majority of your 'Flagship group' is here, stripped down to the bare bones. Literally in the case of Captain Lazereth.

I presume Ozlo and the other knarrs are completing their explorations elsewhere?"

She tries to maintain composure and decorum in the presence of the spectral sorceress.

Spectral Reunion

By the light of their single torch, the three men who fled the room realize they might stand a better chance of survival facing the spectral figure with the others. They return to hear Xenos and Valkrina conversing peacefully with the faintly glowing female.

The floating spectral simulacrum of the once beautiful Kazeffron...

...turns to answer Xenos first. "Oh calm yourself man! I have no idea what you're talking about, but what kind of revenge do you think you could exact from me in this condition?" The ghostly apparition shrugs and points to her insubstantial form.

She shakes her head at the words of Valkrina, apparently unsure who any of the people she mentions are. "Flagship group? No idea. And I've never heard of a Captain Lazereth. But I do think I know what is happening here, if you haven't figured it out yet." She chuckles to herself again, seeming quite pleased that you have all suddenly shown up.

When the others rejoin the group, she notices the carved wooden holy symbol (winged sandal?) around the neck of Euripides and busts out laughing again. "HAHA!!! Well, that is precious! And I though I was duped! At least I didn't worship the piece of shit before being trapped here!" She continues laughing, but there doesn't seem to be any negative consequences from the conversation. Still chuckling at your situation, she allows you time to reply. "I think I can see what happened here, but please continue. I am so enjoying your misgivings."

Walks to open the door, ignoring the spectre. She hasn't figured anything out much during the trip apart from a couple of guesses.

So...a witch that looks just like you, well, less dead and ghosty, anyway, hired us to find her some flowers. She goes by the name Kayser Soze- is that your name, too? Anyway, she gave us magic totems- we didn't know they were magic when she gave them to us- to wear. We got shipwrecked on an island with cannibals and people trying to make everyone worship their God and had a well that made you forget who you were so you'd worship right. We made our escape by killing some guards and stealing a ship, which then ended up heading directly toward this island 'cause of the totems. Oh yeah, we fought a Kraken or some sea monster but got away. Anyway, the ship traveled here and was going to run into the rocks but I jumped into the water. I don't know what everyone else did, since I was underwater. Oh! I found a skeleton underwater that had a totem like ours, except it was different. I couldn't swim down to it, though, the current was too strong. We got out of the cave, ate some fruit and fell asleep. Then we found a statue with a glowing ball for a head- which you can't pull off. Then we found a bunch of arches and put totems on a hook and here we are.

Spectral Information

The gorgeous spectral being listens to the ramblings of the Atlantean, shaking her head the entire time.

"Its Kazeffron you ignorant twit! Kazz! Zef! Ron! It's not that difficult!"

She looks the group over for a moment before continuing. "So it would seem that he is using my name and image now? Tricking others to come here as well?"

"See, I was just like one of you once, and not that long ago either. But I fell for the old line of promised riches and power, just like you must have. Or did you really believe that you were sent here, by me, to look around for some stupid flowers?"

"No! It is clear that you still don't know what's happened, so let me say this slowly so you can understand. You're fucked! You've been tricked by the trickster god. To come here and search for mystic magic items and long lost riches under the lost remnant of this sunken shithole. You would think one of his own followers would understand, but you must not be too important to him after all. And unless you know a way out of here that I haven't found, you are going to be stuck here forever.....just like me."

Valkrina moves to the door and looks it over, finding it to be a normally constructed wooden affair with ruins or some writing she cant understand carved across its face. There is no lock or handle to be seen.

Euripides Nereos

Blinking at being chastised by the spirit, even though he's pretty sure he got her name right, the Atlantean keeps talking. Well, if I die here, I die here. Caffeine- the other one- stopped a couple Vikings from killing me on the spot, so I should have been dead before anyone even got in the ship. Why would she save me just to send me somewhere to die? She got real excited when she saw my gills.

Anyway, there's a door and that hole in the wall, so we have two options. You say it's certain death if we go back through the hole, but you say it's certain death just being in here so either way we're dead. I mean, you are dead, but we'll be dead, so I guess there's nothing to lose, is there? Now, are you going to just yell at us or are you going to be helpful? What exactly is through that hole? What's on the other side if the door? What did you do to try getting out? How did you get in here in the first place? And if she's not you, who is she?

Xenos watches the various attempts to open the door.

If they fail he will have a go at forcing it open himself:

Spectral Information

The spirit of Kazeffron just stares back at Euripides blankly as he explains himself. "She was him.....I mean I was him!" Shaking her spectral head in disgust at the difficulty of this conversation, she tries to continue before giving up completely.

"Rel! It was REL! Not me!!! Gods you're daft aren't you? Rel tricked you to come here, just as he did me, before you! The reason HE was excited that you were an Atlantean, is that there are supposed to be sunken underwater treasures all throughout this place. Don't you know anything about Hyperborean history? This whole place is nothing more than a test, set up by 7 unified gods. And all of it to appease their greed and to give them a little entertainment along the way."

She points to the breach smashed into the side wall. "That way leads to the tests of Mordezzan. If you like playing with lots of undead and other nasty things, that is the direction you should go. Through the door are the tests set up for you, to judge if you are skillful enough to explore what lies beyond, under the center of this island. But I can tell already that you wont have much success figuring out the tricks and traps left behind in that direction. For those were placed by.........you know what.....never mind me. Go ahead and explore with your friends."

At the door, the four completely ignoring the ghostly figure attempt entry instead. Valkrina bounces off, Drest just looks around, Akhilleus seems confused, but Xenos throws his shoulder into it, forcing it open with brute strength to reveal a dark, short hallway 20 feet long, with another unremarkable door at the end of it.

Xenos eyes the new corridor and the door, then steps back to give the others access.

He thinks on the situation for a few moments and then turns to Kazeffron "Why are you here? Has your spirit been tasked to greet newcomers, or are you simply bound to this place until you are properly laid to rest? If it's the latter then it would be in your own interests to help us find our way through to your corpse."
