While waiting on the others to gather around this new opening Fosco stosses a large rock into to darkness of the pit. Than using his dark vision peers into the blackness to better get a feel for what is down below.

Unaware that a possible new entrance has been found Halbrad wanders in the direction where Worren went.

"What's down there? Found anything?"

"Found, other than another blasted nasty hole..nothing. Looks like the other one...even contains a hallway below. Sure to be traps."
When Fosco droped the large rock into the hole what happened? Also, what did his darkvision enable him to see when looking into it?

Fosco's infravision reveals that the hallway is 20' wide, 60' long, and 10' high. At the end are two doorways. The rock bounces and clatters around but nothing happens.

Worren says to Halbrad, while pointing, "Saddlebags and a box in the undergrowth there."

Worren walks toward the box in the undergrowth watching for any movement as he closes to more closely examine it.

Malibran makes his way to the new opening, offering to help dig if needed.

Mason continues to dig. He is rather surprised at the lack of help he has received, but doesn't say anything. He will push and pull sand until the opening is about three foot square.

Several of you widen the hole until it is big enough for a grown man to climb through.

Worren has a closer look at the box in the bushes. It is old and rotting. Half of it has collapsed revealing some dried up remnants of food. Most of it has been picked clean by animals long ago.

This is what Fosco saw through the hole. It is still dark and the humans can only rely on the halfling's description until a light source is put to use...

ooc..Is the opening eye level so we can just walk in or is the tunnel below the opening? From the drawing it looks like level ground and we can just walk in. Reason I ask is because I tossed a large stone down into the opening but that could not happen if it is on level ground.

Mason shrugs off his pack once again, this time coming up with a torch.

"Fire it up, and we can see a bit more."

So the group of adventures digs away for what seems countless hours exposing a large opening. Fosco, lites up some wood, which rest on the ground, and once the fire is bright and secure he tosses it into the darkness. Backing away so others can step up. "Now you all can take a better look for yourself at what waits below us."

ooc: It's a few feet higher than that, about 6' from the floor. This is a loose block wall holding back the dirt outside rather than a giant pile of sand so you are able to enter at a much lower point than the previous hall.

Xale studies the stone hallway and doors to see if he can determine anything about them. After a few moments; he picks up some loose stones and tosses them down the hallway to see if any traps are triggered.

Fosco notices one thing. The door on the right has no hinges!

OOC: is Zoster's Detect Pits and Snares spell still in effect? He still had 18 minutes when checking the previous tunnel...

Well, since Fosco is not interested in being the first one in this time, Mason heads in, searching for traps as he tells his group, "Hold back until I can make sure it is safe."

"Mason!" Fosco yells down the hole. "If you need help man just ask. I must of been day dreaming or something."
