Raffi will try and put out the fire. With waterskins if he can or dampening it out with a near by blanket or cloak if not.

Boff grabs his sword and attempts to slip into the foliage near the camp, while Frannie hurries to slip her chainmail on.

With Raffi helping to put out the fire, on a hunch Garrant calls out in the language of the storm giants.

"Yes, we are friends, indeed!"

Siouxsie

Wakes, dresses. If she can understand the language or accent such as a giant speaking common, she will reply asserting, "We mean no harm, we are only passing through."

Androgost in common and Garrant in storm giants calls out that the group is "friends".

Boff grabs his sword and attempts to slip into the foliage to the north. He ignores that his bedroll is on fire and Frannie is still asleep.

Garrant puts out the the fire on his bedroll and Hex and Raffi puts out the fire that Boff ignored.

Qleceec wakes up the sleeping Frannie.

Androgost has his sword ready.

Siouxsie grabs her Khopesh and shield just in case and takes a chance calling out in Hill Giant, "We mean no harm, we are only passing through."

Nah Olos moves another 30' and his infravision is returning and he sees a few large figures (details in private message)

The different voice yells back something that only Siouxsie seems to understand (details in private message)

No hostile action takes place, which takes us back to the party action!

Siouxsie

If they are Hill giant or (one of their larger kin) it makes sense they see us all corporately as 'dwarf friends' due to our comparative size, not just those who are actual dwarves.

She will approach. Speaking in Hill Giant grunt and some dwarven greetings.

"We came from the near land that way, disturbed by the dragon and the earth quaking. We go to the settlement to help investigate the cause of the ground thundering.

You have felt this too. What can you tell us and can we help bring peace to the earth?"

Raffi finishes putting out the fire. Once that’s done he will edge closer to the foliage or a sturdy trunk away from the voices.

Hex will move his hand to his wand case and slide it out ready, but not make any movements to use it currently, also stepping back towards a sturdy trunk to hide behind and gain some cover.

Both Boff and Frannie continue as they were, Boff trying to remain hidden, Frannie, donning her equipment.

Androgost and Garrant waits for a reply to their friends call, but nothing comes.

Hex and Qleceec stay with the camp readying their wand and bow respectively.

Frannie begins to get her chainmail on.

Siouxsie walks out much of the way (perhaps 45' ) to Nah Olos. All the while calling into the darkness. Nah Olos remains where he is and looks around for the three giants. "Siouxsie, I saw three giants, but they have moved out of range after one said something."

Boff continues to hide north of the camp in the limited foliage and is joined by Raffi since the fire is out.

The night mostly quiet, just the sounds of the crickets. No hostile actions are taken against the party and they can act again.

Siouxsie

"Ok, well if they are not hostile or friendly enough to talk, I'm going back to sleep."

Boff will also return to camp after a few minutes, and try to make the best of any remaining sleep.

Androgst also returns to sleep and his turn at guard duty.

Garrant waits half an hour or so before returning to sleep.

Hex settled back in to sleep bud Raffi resumes his watch from the hiding spot he has found.

Our group of adventurers eventually all head back to rest or watch as was their part, the second watch turns into third and eventually the sun rises without additional interruption. As the spellcasting part of the group have prayed or studied as is their custom and refreshed spells (If there are spells you wanted to cast before rememorizing then include them in your next post.) All that are still wounded gained one hit point for the night.

The party is just about 5-10 minutes from heading out, when a group of 11 dwarfs marching two abreast (with the odd one at the rear) down the road. They are all wearing chainmail. The 1st, 3rd and 5th ranks are armed with long swords and spears while the 2nd, 4th (and singular dwarf) are armed with Battle Axes and Heavy crossbows.

The group marches to about 70' from to group. The heavy crossbow men kneel in a semi-circle and the spearmen form a line behind them. All weapons are pointed in the general direction of the group but not pointing at them. The dwarf that had been at the rear remains behind the newly created wall of dwarfs. He calls out, "You have entered the lands of Silver Spring. Identify yourself or face our wrath!"
