Many other scientists gather closer listening to your tale. One by one, you see many raised eyebrows (or equivalent by species). They demand to be told more about this at the camp site. Soon afterward, two more explorers roll up with the requested armaments.

t'prin will ask if any of the equipment boxes would be able to block any kind of tracking signal.
t'prin will enter the lead vehicle and strap in for the ride.

Rick is ready to go. He will travel in one of the armed explorers, setting up by the weapon.

Daz will operate the armed vehicle Rick has chosen.

OOC: I wasn't certain but is Lloyd still with us? I know his player isn't active anymore but wasn't clear on the status of his character. I thought Lloyd was a technician and thus good at operating vehicles.

Depends on the strength of the transmitter. A low powered transmitter can be blocked, but not a comm link or stronger.

Okay, everyone gets into their vehicles and they begin to roll out. Your convoy travels many hours and you have left any signs of civilization. The lead explorer radios that the destination is about 500 kilometers away and it will take 10 hours to get there. After about 7 hours, you see that the plains have given way to hilly terrain. The next 3 hours drag by as there is mind numbing nothing to look at. The lead explorer radios that the destination is ahead. You see nothing unusual about what is ahead, just more hills. As you continue to drive ahead, you feel the explorers shaking. At first, you think it is a tremor from a fault causing the ground to shake. Suddenly, the ground sunders beneath the weight of the explorers and they all fall into a large crevasse. Everyone make a reaction speed roll for me, please...

The explorers plummet 50 meters into an underground cavern.

Daz takes: [2d10]=8 Damage

T'prin takes: [2d10]=6 Damage

Rick takes: [1d10]=2 Damage

When the explorers settle, all the scientists start assessing damage. Luckily, the explorers take only minor damage from the fall.

forget the explorers, what about the reactor? is it damaged?
also ,what typoe of rock are we looking at as fgar as the walls of this crevasse, is it a soft material or a hard material such as granite?

Ricks picks himself up and then looks over the weapons systems. He also scans the area where they landed looking for any hostiles.

Daz will immediately check to see if everyone is alright. After that, she'll do a quick diagnostic on the explorer to make sure the vehicle is not in immediate danger. Finally, she'll assess the safety of the surrounding area. What sort of ground did we land on, are rocks still continuing to tumble down or has it quieted down?

The reactor is undamaged. It was securely strapped down in it's storage bin. The surrounding rock in the area appears to be fairly solid. As for it's actual type, you would need an analyzer to determine what it is. The cavern is very dark except for the area where sunlight is coming through the hole above. One of the lead explorers flips on it's head lights and you can see that the cavern is fairly large...at least a kilometer across.

T'prin brings his rifle into position, checks his ammo and chambers a round. Not that I see anything but want to be ready just in case.

Question the debris on the ground from the collapsed "Ceiling"
is it thin or thick?
Also does it appear to be the same material as the wall?
