One of the scientists overhears your question and replies, "As far as we know, just local animal life is in the area. How many explorers do you want armed?"
Adventure 2.0
Re: Adventure 2.0
Daz asks, "How many explorers are we planning on taking? How many scientists will be on this expedition? Any support staff?"Harpoonrgm84a wrote: ↑Thu Jul 22, 2021 11:35 pm One of the scientists overhears your question and replies, "As far as we know, just local animal life is in the area. OOC: How big are the explorers (tonnage, seats, capacity)?

There are 5 currently on task. Each explorer holds 6 crew and 2,000kg of cargo.mghaught wrote: ↑Fri Jul 23, 2021 1:47 pmDaz asks, "How many explorers are we planning on taking? Re: Adventure 2.0
Okay, sounds like we need two explorers. Do they need us to drive or will they have skilled drivers? Daz would suggest we have both of them armed, if possible.Harpoonrgm84a wrote: ↑Sun Jul 25, 2021 10:54 pm There are 5 currently on task. Each explorer holds 6 crew and 2,000kg of cargo.
Re: Adventure 2.0
Rick chimes in, "Maybe we be needing more than two explorers. Dependin' on how much cargo the scientists be having. But yeah, let's be arming two of them. If it be in the budget, maybe a heavy leaser on one and a rocket launcher on the other."

The scientists glance at each other, then one pulls out a chronocom and talks into it for a while, then turns to you; "Your two other explorers will be here in 2 hours."
Re: Adventure 2.0
T'prin will use his chroncom to contact one of the local salvage companies. While we wait
Re: Adventure 2.0
When the explorers arrive, Rick will check over the armaments carefully.
OOC: I will be gone on vacation for a week and a half so feel free to NPC Rick during that time.

Re: Adventure 2.0
T'prin mentions to Daz that maybe we should show the Magazine to one of the scientist and see if he can tell us anything about it?

T'prin Intuition roll [1d100]=87
Rick's Intuition check [1d100]=21
Daz Intuition roll [1d100]=14
As you are waiting for the 2 explorers, Rick and Daz notice that a nuclear reactor is being loaded into an explorer by the scientists.

T'prin will take the magazine and approach one of the scientists, then ask him or her if she can tell us anything about it.
Re: Adventure 2.0
GM: In this setting, how unusual would a nuclear reactor be? I'm assuming it's highly dangerous but perhaps the tech here makes that not the case. Are there concerns for safely transporting it? Before Daz reacts or inquires further, I'd like to know what Daz knows about this.Harpoonrgm84a wrote: ↑Sat Jul 31, 2021 4:09 pm T'prin Intuition roll [1d100]=87

Re: Adventure 2.0
Not exceptionally unusual. A lot of times, when power is needed for a long period of time, a nuclear reactor is better than a dozen or more parabatteries. Those with technical skills note that this is a type 4 power generator.mghaught wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 2:01 pmGM: In this setting, how unusual would a nuclear reactor be? The scientist looks at the magazine, turns it over in his hands for a few minutes, then looks at you; "Where did you get this? This is not made here in the frontier worlds. It doesn't even look like something the Sathar wield. What a strange device!"
Re: Adventure 2.0
T'prin will give him the redears digest condensed version of the events on the casino ship
Including the ozone smell and how the attackers seemed to just appear from thin air

Re: Adventure 2.0
Daz will chat with the scientists about the equipment they're bringing and what sort of environment they're expecting. She'll inquire who's the group's tech while at it.

The scientist looks at you quizzically, then snorts, "What were you smoking, my friend? That is pure science fiction!"
