Daz will greet the man in the white coat, "Ah, indeed. It seems we may be your match. We're looking for Professor J'Lan with the University of Thantos. Would that you be you or someone you're associated with? My name is Daz."

"Ah, my apologies, Miss Daz, but I was sent to collect you, but Professor J'Lan didn't tell me who I was picking up. If you and your companions will follow me, I have a skimmer ready to take us to the university." At this point, he turns and walks to the exit and a waiting skimmer.

Daz will follow the others towards the skimmer.

T'prin follows the man.

Rick will also tag along.

Okay, everyone is in the skimmer, the human male sets a few controls and the skimmer takes off and moves into traffic. Within a few minutes, you see the city start to thin out some. Soon a rather large group of buildings comes into view and you see signs indicating it is the university. The skimmer takes a side road and goes around the back side of the campus where you see a caravan of explorers (5 total) lined up and being loaded. A Yazirian glances up and waves to the skimmer. He moves to your slowing vehicle and calls out, "Greetings. I am Professor J'Lan. Thank you for agreeing to help us with this exciting expedition. If you have any needs or wants, let me know and I will have it brought to you."

Rick will exit the skimmer and introduce himself. He has no immediate wants or needs.

Daz also exits the skimmer and introduces herself. Her expectations are that we'll meet to discuss the details of the job and its rewards. She's in no rush and can adopt whatever schedule the professor has set.

Professor J'Lan shakes everyone's hand. "Your primary mission will be as an armed escort for our convoy. The expedition will travel out into the nearby wastes, 500 kilometers out, where I will uncover evidence to support my theory that the Sathar were once peaceful and that the intrusion of the 4 races into this area of space caused the hostilities. I am willing to pay you Cr500 for the mission and another Cr500 upon return to the university. Is this acceptable to you?"

The fee is acceptable to Rick but he will wait for the others to reply first in case they want to negotiate for a higher price.

T'prin agrees to the fee, He asks the professor if there are salvage companies on planet, and if so if I can use a communication device to contact them

Daz agrees to the arrangement.

J'Lan looks pleased. "Very well, grab any explorer you want to ride in and let's get started!"

Do any of the explorers have mounted weapons and, if so, what types?

Daz is willing to operate the explorer if no one else speaks up.

None of the explorers are armed, but several of the scientists see your gaze and where it is going. One of them walks to you, "Do you think we will need an armed explorer on this trip?"

[MajorTom]

Rick shrugs and answers, "If you be thinking you need us as armed guards then yeah, I be thinking an armed explorer would be better than a not-armed explorer."

Daz nods to Rick. "What sort of threats do you know about where we're headed?"

I'd be more comfortable with an armed explorer as better to have and not need it than to need it and not have it
