Pulling himself out of slumber with the help of Ribar, Gardo gets up and continues his charge, abandoning all thoughts of subduing the creature and going for outright slaughter.
Do you want Notai to act?
Yeah, that would do.

Round Three
Gardo, Goshawk, and Notai charge in as Ribar shakes Aldus awake. Gardo deals the creature a mighty blow with his blade. Goshawk attempts to force the creature off Feargus, with no success, while Notai's spear thrust misses wildly. Telemachus utters the words to his spell of somnolence, but the incantation has no effect upon the horrid creature! Notai darts back some fifteen feet away from the creature, looking for another opening she can use to attack.
With a sickening slurp and spray of sanguinity that stains the snow the creature withdraws its probiscus from Feargus's chest. The drone of its wings changes pitch suddenly, from a low drone to a high pitch whine. Goshawk is able to withstand its effects, but Gardo feels the sound worming into his head, and he seems to lose control over his own actions! The horrid fly-like stirge scuttles forward, off Feargus's body, towards Goshawk, lashing out with its clawed, human-like hands and whip-like probiscus. A single claw catches Goshawk's cheek as he dodges the other two blows.
Aldus, Gardo, Goshawk, Notai, Ribar, and Telemachus may act in Round 4. Gardo is affected by confusion, though, so he may not take his declared action. Just a note that I made a mistake with the base attack bonuses. I had thought, before OSE was published, that THAC0 + BAB was supposed to equal 20; which I believe it does in AD&D, which has a max AC of 10. In B/X, however, the max AC is 9, so THAC0 + BAB equals 19. I'll go ahead and revise the class document when I get a chance. Initiative, PCs first:: 1d6-151d64

Ribar shakes Aldus awake. Aldus can act during Round Four
Telemachus. Casts Sleep. No effect.
Creature withdraws from Feargus. Activates confusion effect, targeting Gardo and Goshawk. Saves: http://orokos.com/roll/749757: 2#1d20-1017 Gardo fails, Goshawk succeeds. *This will affect Gardo in the following round, and I will determine his actions as per the confusion spell.

Ribar helps Aldus to his feet "Quickly, Feargus needs your help", he then heads over to wake Wulfka.

Goshawk
"Feargus! Get up! Somebody see if he's alive and get him up. Keep on him, Gardo...Gardo?"
Goshawk bravely holds his ground, swinging his halberd in a powerful arc at the thing.

Aldus presses his sword into Ribar's hand. "Give this to Wulfka, she'll make better use of it."
He then nocks and arrow and fires at the droning monstrosity.

Notai
Seeing success in her last attack, the brave prepares to do the same thing again. Noting the strange way that Gardo is acting, she takes care to time an attack to avoid actions from him.

Round Four
Aldus presses his blade into Ribar's hand and tells the young priest to give it to Wulfka. He fires an arrow at the creature but it misses. Ribar rushes to Wulfka's side and shakes the warrioress awake. Telemachus shakes Casfrea awake. Gardo, confused by the droning sound the creature is making, stands there, slack-jawed. As Notai rushes back in with her spear she, too hears the eldritch buzzing worm its way into her skull, but is able to avoid its effects and stabs, but is unable to connect. The fleet cerves retreats back away from the melee. The creature continues to attack Goshawk, who takes a blow from one massive fist and just barely manages to avoid it lashing out with its cruel, needle like probiscus, an attack that surely would have ended his life had it landed. Goshawk, now, is overcome by the buzzing drone and he, too, stands there, unable to make his body act..
Aldus, Casfrea, Gardo, Goshawk, Notai, Ribar, Telemachus, and Wulfka may act in Round 4. The buzzing causes confusion round by round for everyone within 10'. Initiative, PCs first:: 1d6-141d65
Creature's hp: 24
Continues to attack Goshawk: http://orokos.com/roll/750017: 3#1d20+71810172#1d6612d46Two attacks hit, doing a total of 12 damage! Goshawk is reduced to 0 hp. I'm going to say he uses his fighter ability to cancel the tongue attack, so he takes only 6 damage.
Ribar glances around and sees nobody else to awaken, so he darts over to Feargus, dragging him away from the fight before doing his best to apply his healing skills.

Telemachus
Telemachus tosses an oil flask at the drone and follows it with a lit torch.
Casfrea attacks with her 2H sword.

Notai
The buzzing sound concerns the brave, going in is a risk every time she does so. She decides to throw her spear then switch to her short bow with arrows.
Is the confusion like the spell or only the effects?

Round Five
By now the ruckus caused seems to have alerted residents in the nearby buildings. Lights flicker on behind window curtains as lamps are lit. "What's going on!" cries one man; "You'd better calm down out there or I'm summoning the guard!" exclaims another.
Outside, in the cold and wet, a desperate battle continues. Ribar darts forward, but as he reaches Feargus he is overtaken by the monotonous hum of the creature's wings and stands there, uncertain. Aldus fires an arrow, but it just misses, as Telemachus tosses a flask of oil that shatters against the creature's strange, fly-like hide. It shatters, and Telemachus removes torch and tinderbox and starts lighting it. The creature continues to bedevil Goshawk, who's luck finally runs out; a blow rocks the warrior, and in the opening the creature's whip-like probiscus shoots forward, into his unprotected throat, and sucks noisily at a vein until the fighter collapses.
Gardo and Wulfka are both overcome by the drone: Gardo swings wildly at the creature, while Wulfka attacks Casfrea, rushing past her. Casfrea takes almost no note, and her blow just misses! Notai stands back, uncertain, unable to throw her spear into the heaving melee!
EDIT: Goshawk slashes the creature with his halberd as he dies.
I missed the Wanderer's question, above. The way the confusion effect works is that all creatures within 10' that can hear the drone must Save v. spells to avoid the effect, which is as per the confusion spell. Affected creatures can make a save each round, and once they succeed they're no longer affected by it for the remainder of the encounter.
Creature hp: 24 Initiative, PCs first:: 1d6-141d64
Ribar makes a savehttp://orokos.com/roll/750504: 1d207 and fails. He http://orokos.com/roll/750505: 2d68 doesn't know what to do, and just stands there!
Aldus fires an arrow: http://orokos.com/roll/750506: 1d20+5181d62 It *just* misses.
Newton. At this point I'm going to assume that someone trips over Newton.
Creature continues to attack Goshawk: http://orokos.com/roll/750507: 3#1d20+72413212#1d6552d48Goshawk is slain!
Telemachus tosses oil flask: http://orokos.com/roll/750503: 1d2016 I'll consider that a hit, seeing as you're just trying to hit the creature and not penetrate its armor. However, he still has to light a torch -- it was my understanding that you guys were going dark so as to not alert anyone.
Saves for Gardo, Wulfka, and Casfrea (in this order): http://orokos.com/roll/750508: 3#1d2010420 Gardo remains affected, Wulfka succumbs, but Casfrea saves.
Goshawk hits the ground with a thump. As his eyes go dim, he sees the form of Feargus, still unmoving nearby.
Feargus
For his part, Feargus' dreams have passed from one of wrenching pain to cold darkness.

Aldus calls to the wondering voices from the nearby buildings: "Murder! Monster! The back alley ripper! Alert the guards, but warn them that it is powerful and terrifying beast! If they have magicians on their payroll, this is the time to dust them off and send them out into the night air!"
He draws another arrows, but pauses before firing. He is keenly frustrated with how difficult it is to get a bead on the blasted thing, and even then, he is unsure his arrows will do much damage. Perhaps the net will do something? It might prevent the creature from flying away, make it easier to hit, or perhaps even foul the maddening drone of its wings.
He runs to within throwing distance, hoping to avoid the confused attacks of his comrades, and flings the net at the creature.

Newton drags himself to his feet, confusion on his face as the takes in the awful scene, the creature, the bodies, friend attacking friend and others standing there in a daze.
He casts Faerie Fire on the droning horror while he decides what to do next.
When Ribar can act he'll still try to drag Feargus out.
