Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Avaala the Grey
Having taken the first watch, Avaala sits quietly, his eyes tracking back and forth around the room. There isn't any sign of drowsiness in his face, as though something is keeping his attention. Whatever it might be, Avaala does not do more than stare around and occasionally blink.

Monocar
After his extended nap, he will wake up again in time to munch on some rations and tend to his weapons and armor before taking 2nd watch. He will step outside the door to keep an eye out for anything happening after offering to take a double watch so the magicy people can get plenty of rest. Thus the long nap Hearing the scoff from Krystal to presumably Jax, he will giggle like a school boy, doing a poor job of hiding his amusement.

Wes
Wes accepts Avalaa's rope. "If we wedge some of this junk behind the door, so it can't be opened by more than about two feet, I can lay the snare here". Wes points to a spot slightly off to the side, just inside the door. "If anything breaks in, or smashes the door open, it will step into the snare. But if we need to go outside, we can move the junk and open the door wider"
Once the sun goes down, Wes goes ahead with this plan. He will also do it for the other room if they accept his offer.
When not asleep or on watch, Wes alternates between praying and studying Wrrk the chameleon as it changes colors on different backgrounds.

Chauncey, fascinated, will happily accept the offer of the rope trap on behalf of his room and its occupants.

Galanthas quickly searches through his stuff in his back pack. "Oh..." he brings out the suspicious magazines that were on the table where the magic candle stood. Clearly embarrased, the elf leaves them back where they orginally belonged. "Ahem... I don't know how did they get here." He looks away as if trying to focus everyone's attention elsewhere. "Eeeh... I fear I left my quill and all back in town, yes..."
"Regarding my invigorating spell..." The spellsword relates the advantages and particularities of his spells.
After some perusing and explaining, when the conversation starts to recede, he volunteers for the first watch.

Luther
Sooner or later, Luther's casual posture lulls him to sleep. Unfortunately, he snores. When he is awakened for his guard shift, he prowls the whole sanctuary, keeping watch.

After volunteering to take a double shift, MMM is all smiles when Luther relieves him. In a whisper he leans in. nothing yet. I think it was a good idea, staying here to rest up.

If all of his shift passes uneventfully, Avaala will get some rest in order to replenish his used spell later.

Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Sunday, the 14th of Goodmonth
Early Afternoon, Hot, Humid, Damp, Dim
This will take place sometime after Brother Gilbert was outside of his room alone. The members staying in the closed bedroom area, (Chauncey, Luther, Galanthas) wont know anything about this unless/until someone fills them in. Good luck, campers!
Once Brother Gilbert is sure that this place could eventually be restored back to its former glory again, he spots something very strange near the altar. All of the chairs and other furniture begin to drop and fall from the structure as the secret stairway begins to slowly open again. Oddly enough, none of the chairs make any noise as they crash to the floor. The curious priest begins walking towards the altar until he sees what is coming up the stairway to greet him. Then he decides to head back towards his room to inform the others.
Swinging the door to the storage room open again, he shouts over to Monocar, Wes, and Avaala. "Uummmm, guys! I think you better come out here to see this!"
Once the door is opened all the way, several skeletons can be seen coming out of the open stairway door and infiltrating the sacristy area.
Actions?
from BG, Avaala, Wes, and Monocar only

Wes
Since the Snare spells haven't been removed from Wes' 3rd level inventory yet, I'm assuming this is happening before they have been cast?
Wes looks out through the door. "More skeletons? How did they get here without disturbing our trap?"
"Can you dispel them before they reach us?" he asks Gilbert.
Wes considers casting one of his spells, but turns to the matter of tactics first. "Gilbert, if you step inside the room, and Monocar holds position just inside the doorway, only one of them will be able to enter at a time, if any resist Pelor's power. We'll have them in a bottleneck".
"If there are still a a lot of them, I'll call on The Shalm to place his Fire on them". He grasps his club firmly as the skeletons advance.

You mentioned that you would cast them at sundown. The time stamp in the header states that it is now early afternoon.

Seeing the skeletons as Wes's alarm, the big man arms himself with sword and board again and moves to stand outside the doors, putting himself between the new threat and the entrances. Wake up everyone! The Bones are back!

Avaala the Grey
Pleased, as always, to have Monocar in front of him for this sort of thing, Avaala stays close to the Man Mountain, behind him on his rear left flank. He has his staff at the ready and simply lets Monocar know where he is. "Right here behind you, partner. You soften them up and I'll try to finish them."

Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Sunday, the 14th of Goodmonth
Late Afternoon, Hot, Humid, Damp, Dim
The first pair of skeletons stops about 30 feet past the stairs. They slowly turn their heads creepily towards Brother Gilbert and begin walking in the direction of the doors as the priest readies his holy symbol to chase them away using the power of Pelor. (D20 roll please if you'd like to try turning them before they actually arrive)
Monocar jumps to his feet as soon as Wes starts to make suggestions for a plan of attack, quickly joining the priest outside of the room. Avaala readies himself, right behind the massive fighter. Then Jaxsen's unseen voice rings out from just outside both of the doors. "Someone is coming from under the altar. Prepare yourselves!" Chauncey, Luther, and Galanthas clearly hear Bralm's monk shouting outside of their door now, so they prepare themselves to get involved as well.
The second pair of skeletons doesn't do anything after it enters the room, apparently waiting to see what happens before they decide to attack. Then a creepy looking dark figure covered in a dirty robe exits the stairway, flanked by the third pair of skeletons. All three of them begin shambling towards the back of the altar, away from the action. A disturbing and hoarse voice rings out from the hooded figure once he is there. "Well trespassers! If you are arrogant enough to sleep in my own bed, maybe you will actually present a challenge for my minions and I for a change. Now, come out to meet your fate!"
The closest pair of skeletons advance towards Monocar and Brother Gilbert swinging away with their rusty swords.

Avaala the Grey
Avaala sticks his head out the door to get a good look around.
How well lit is the area? Could Avaala get anything like a good look at the dark figure in the robe?
Distinguishing markings on the robe/cloak? Colors? (Other than dirty)
Holy Symbol out/displayed?
Anything at all about his face?

Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
The room is still dimly lit from the setting sun outside.
The figures robes are dark grey and dirty, with no obvious distinguishing features.
You don't see a holy symbol.
His robes are heavily hooded, denying you a good look at his face.

Avaala the Grey
Avaala pulls back out of sight into the storage room once more. "Do NOT attack me. I am still Avaala, but I'm about to change appearances," he tells his friends.
Avaala morphs into a close replica of the dark hooded figure behind the altar.
Is there time for anything else this round?

Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Chauncey will walk calmly to the door and peek out. Seeing the robed figure behind the alter he formulates a plan. A classic decoy, surely he thinks. We shall see... He performs a series of quick finger movements, eats a live spider and touches his finger to the wall outside the door. A mass of sticky webs shoots across the room to intersect the supposed villain, cast slyly at just above alter height to envelop him and his two skeletal companions by the head and torso.
Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Luther
Luther starts awake, reaching for his sword. He thinks better of that, grabbing the thighbone he collected earlier and charging the skeletons. He attacks the nearest one.
attack [1d20] = 11
bone club [1d6] = 1
