Kit Round 3 APs 4-6

Seeing his first target drop Kit switches aim to the next. His target drops into a crouch and fires from the hip. Kit doesn't change his point of aim and his return burst takes his target's head clean off.

Frank, Dog & “Funtime” Freddie Round 3 APs 4-6

Frank takes cover behind his rock and then presses the attack as he pops up to snap a burst off at the riflemen in the streambed. Return fire or maybe rock chips deflect harmlessly off his combat armour as he sees his burst of gauss needles rip the ACR from his targets grasp and pitch him backwards into the streambed.

Dog also puts a burst into the same area and staggers his target with a burst to the centre mass but doesn't put him down. The guy seems astonished at his remarkable good fortune until something rolls to a stop next to his right foot. The explosion blows his right leg out onto the manicured lawn.

Freya (& Freddie) Round 3 APs 4-6

Freya puts some rounds down on the retiring rifleman sheltering behind a rock. She hits the rock but misses him. However, this seems more than enough to make his mind up over returning fire and he scuttles northwards. As she suppresses that insurgent Freddie shouts “Frag out!” and pitches his grenade into the streambed. Bits of people fly out.

Prerna & Easy (& King) Round 3 APs 4-6

The rifleman at the top of the streambed fires again at Pte King and misses. The irate King blazes back and rips up the stream bank. A sharp whistle gets the man's attention and he turns to see Easy fire a LAW into the streambed. He avoids injury from the direct explosion and the sharpnel and, relieved, begins to smile when a burst of armour piercing sabots from Prerna's ACR take him through the head.

Jess Round 3 APs 4-6

Being not effectively engaged Jess can take in the “Big Picture”.

The streambed will not quite be the same again and is now a charnel house. The now (very few) remaining insurgents are routing. One emerges from the central trees to be cut down by Mike's overwatching gauss rifle. As he goes down another “rabbits” for the northern hatch. They are running with their backs to the enemy.

Having held her ground she sees further routing insurgents emerge from the western corridor and simply stop dumbfounded by the carnage inflicted on the two full squads who they know had gone ahead of them. Meanwhile Charlie storms triumphantly out of the central woods and onto the torn up bridge over the stream. He momentarily trains his rifle into the streambed but a second's assessment is enough. He instead covers the insurgents who drop any weapons they hold and raise their hands. She sees Gaughan leaning on his falx and the helmetless Beau push through the press and start towards the visible Merc troops. Lannigan, his face dark with a terrible fury, roughly searches through the prisoners and seeming to recognise one seizes him and, with a nod from Gaughan, drags him back into the western corridor.

Another group of battered Guardsmen emerge further north. Jess seems to recognise the strange vagrant like Guylai armed with several ACRs and being propelled along whilst sat astride a medical trolley. He immediately starts blatting full mags at the retreating insurgents “winging” one of them. The walking wounded men with him seem to act as both his propulsion and loaders.

Jess flips a salute to Gaughan and turns to send a burst after the rabble fleeing north. Don't want them running off with weapons and armour, they might come back later.

Major Ghoshal, can you shut the door on those guys for us? We'll be wantin' that kit off 'em.

With the fighting apparently over Jess goes to check 'Arry.

Jess lets rip a burst and sees it strike the unwounded fugitive in the head. He pitches forwards like someone who just had all the fuses pulled all at once. His mate behind him skids to a halt, throws his rifle away and cowers on the ground.

I think with the post from Tiglath right after this, W2 surrenders and W3 was KIA and the two with WF were captured by what is left of the Guard. So I think that this request is mute, but if there was a door you wanted shut please let me know again.

(OOC: Prerna will be well aware that the fountain blocks LOS. So, when moving north she can possibly take advantage of this. She also knows what Baker can see as "clear" - linked below).

"Colonel, there a couple of things that have been confusing me.
  • Given the layout of this compound there is no logical reason that the insurgents would try to escape by entering into the room to the north of here - it leads deeper into the compound, not out. Especially if they have never gone that way.
  • There was a sniper in the room to the north of here. Again how did he get so far in and then why bother to shoot at us when he could have gone deeper into the compound.
  • I mentioned this when I first met your team, but there is the sensor reading of the open water door. From the waterfall you might be able to get to the location of that open sensor reading. I am guessing that it basically leads right there.
  • In addition, the first two insurgent attacks started from the stairwells, while I have been thinking perhaps they came down the stairs, when they tried to escape your team it was down the eastern stairs, which could lead to that same open water door in the basement.

The best way to protect those delegates will be to help me close that water door. I think that is how the insurgents are getting into the compound. Will you help me close that door? - And if there was one sniper there could be other rear guards as well.

Since no LOS works both ways, Prerna moves straight toward the dead sniper, with Easy in trail. She will stop at the sniper's hide, and then move from there to the door.

He sets his comms to the general company channel "Good work everyone. Anyone injured get assessed, injury report from squad leaders please. It's good to see you Sargent Dawson."

In reply to Kit, over the officers channel:

"Major, I agree with assessment about the access point, and we do need to close it. The sniper was either protecting it or was there to stop others heading further into the compound. I assume the Baron's suite is that way? I can't believe the insurgents would attack this place and not take the opportunity to have a go at the Baron. Everyone, regroup and assess a move north to seal the entry point. Ms Ingriddsdottir, that drone of yours would be very useful for an initial scout of the northern gardens, if you don't mind?"

By Radio: Will do...Drone going there. I can see through the drone and my gunsight, but I can see a thing with my eyes. To much blood!

She slides down the door frame and sits on the ground - concentrating on the drone to try and stop the panic that's welling up. She might be able to see through the gunsight, but it's suddenly much too wobbly to be much use for anything.

To Freddy, relatively quietly: Freddy: I can't see!

Freddy can see that the entire front of Freya's mask and armour jacket is just covered in blood. It's seeping down the inside of the bullet-proof hoodie which has a hole in near the front edge, and the mask has a chip at the edge.

The bullet has gone through the hoodie above the right eye, off the mask, along her skull, nicked her ear and lodged in the back of the hoodie near her neck
