And finally to Garrett, he asked, letting Thomas’ hand drop, “Do you still want me on the Project? Everything is in order for the machines, from what I can see.”

“Well, That would explain the hardware.” He spoke somewhat sardonically. “Wait... which mine troubles? Some unrest? Is there significant hazard now? I wonder if I need to strap up, too.”

He looked mildly distressed, but turned toward Garrett, “That is if you still want me working for you on this, that is.”

"Lloyd, glad you made it back in time. You will be joining these people and myself to check on some trouble brewing on Pale at the Thornton mine site. Be at landing pad Eta 1 in 4 hours. I have to go take care of a few things and will meet everyone there."

“Affirmative,” he said. He walked over, taking a quick look in the chest. He grabbed a folded skeinsuit. Underneath, in some oiled canvas at the bottom of the chest was a heavy package, which he unwrapped. He unwrapped it, took the auto pistol and wiped down the grip a holster and a separate loaded magazine. He cycled the bolt and replaced the gun in the holster. There were still more than a dozen grenades in the box (a baker’s dozen, if truth were told), and he took three himself. “Anyone else want any of these?” He asked. If not, he would put the rest in the sack in case one of them changed their mind.

Storyck never really thought about grenades before but after Lloyd's urging, decides it would not be a bad idea to have a few. Before heading to the plaza to buy a couple of jetclips for his new gyrojet pistol, he heads back to the table and grabs three of them out of the box.

When he returns, he has another human in tow and they are carrying a load of items. The both put the items down on the table before you. The helping human is thanked and he quickly leaves. Garret points to the pile and says, "Here is some help for you."

On the table you find the following items: 1 Gyrojet Pistol with a full clip, a box containing 15 grenades (5 doze, 5 tangler, and 5 fragmentation), 1 Needler Rifle with one full clip, 1 Needler Pistol with one full clip, and 6 Civilian Skeinsuits.

Garret says, "This should get you started. You can pick up more ammo down the plaza if you need it. Also, here is your first days pay." He hands you each 110 credits (Don't forget, half of that goes toward regular things like rent, food, etc, so you end up with 55 credits each.) "Now, go do what you need to do, but please be at landing pad Eta 1 in 4 hours. We launch at that time. Again, thank you for helping me in this endeavor."
Vigg takes the needler and ensures that the mechanical integrity is smooth and also engages the safety before attaching it to his work coveralls. He also takes one of the one-size-fits-all civilian skeinsuits to put on under his coveralls.

To the others, "I will hold on to the remainder of the grenades, but everyone should have at least one." Vigg puts one frag, one doze, and one tangler on his coveralls for easy access. The remainder of the grenades goes in his pack, which he will provide to any who ask.

"Thank you for the credits, Boss Garret!" Vigg adds the remaining 55 credits to his 10 and he thinks that he needs another clip for his new needler pistol... "Anyone else heading to an armory? I need an extra clip or two for this needler pistol."

((OOC: No worries. I didn’t want to leave them behind, either. Looks like there will only be a couple left:

My math shows: 2 doze went to one PC, one of each to your PC, Lloyd already had some smoke and sleep gas grenades so he took two frag and one tangler, another took three, unspecified type... that makes 11. There’s four left to either divide up or to put in the sack. Cheers))

Okay, this is the in-between time before you are to meet at the landing pad, so if there is anything you guys wish to do, now is a good time to execute that plan. Garret has left to take care of some business before he meets you later. Everyone is currently still in the plaza. If you want more ammunition, just list what you get so I can note it on your character sheets here. Also, please let me know what you spend your experience points on and I will mirror it here. The next segment of the adventure is titled "A Miner Inconvenience" and it will start as soon as everyone has done everything they need to. I hope everyone is enjoying the adventure so far, if you have any ideas to make this a better experience, shoot me a message.

Lloyd takes a few minutes to collect his things, putting the civilian skeinsuit on, then stepping back into his many pocketed and well-broken-in coveralls. He visits the armorer and picks up 14 additional bulletclips for the auto pistol, since they are quite economical. These he stashes in various pockets and in his carryall. He has an ‘interesting’ meal of steamed maelstrom worms and some bitter tea. He moves half of the 110 credits into his ‘living and maintenance fund’ and considers the 27 he has left from the payment, and adds them to his ready credit, 30 was a small, if decently rounded number.

OOC question: if we want to pick up something that isn’t in the AD book, can we propose a cost for that? My character would like to have an inexpensive digital camera. Can I pick one up for 5Cr? In case anyone wants to visualize H Lloyd, I’m including his picture. Note that this is not my art, but from a portfolio of failed video game concepts.

Assuming that is the case, Lloyd sat at the lunch counter for a bit longer, trying to search for news about what happened in the plaza as well as what might be going on over on Pale.

Once he has exhausted that Avenue, he sends a short email off at one of the terminals, updating his brother on his planned location. Lloyd thought this was a reasonable use of his time, since it kept their mother from worrying and him having to sort through frantic and peeved video messages if he did not pick up mail for a few weeks.

After some haggling, Lloyd manages to pick up a serviceable camera with moderate resolution for the low, low price of 10Cr. He snaps a few images to test it, including one of him with teeth bared in what was probably intended to be a smile. He sent that one to his brother, after connecting the camera to his chronocom.

OOC: thanks, GM appreciate the message. If I run across other things, I’ll post questions as well.

Storyck will accompany the others to the plaza but the only thing he buys are 3 jetclips for the gyrojet pistol. He raises an eyebrow when Thomas purchases the brass knuckles. "You like to get in and mix things up close like?" Storyck asks.
