The good news is hps are rerolled at every level

Play by Post RGPs and a nifty dice roller

Over time rolls trend slightly above average, I think. I've also got a house rule where you can spend time and money carousing for a hp reroll. Once per level, new roll is what you use.PresGas wrote:True! forgot about that houserule. I definitely want to see how that works in game here to see if I want to bring it to my table.
Okay, cool. An adjustment is in orlder for Ardath; he's raise Wis +1 and Con +1.
I'll play a thief. I'll take the second set and swap Wis for Dex.thirdkingdom wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 7:13 pmSets.

2. : 6#3d6 12 12 16 7 5 9
3. : 6#3d6 10 13 14 12 14 12
Choose one set, you can switch any two stats. Do you need any of the reference books? There's a free preview version of Into the Wild on Drivethru. The only classes that are off bounds to starting PCs are the cerves and mochyn classes.
Cool. Will get you hp, money, and item rolls ASAP.kalstone wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 11:21 pmI'll play a thief. I'll take the second set and swap Wis for Dex.thirdkingdom wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 7:13 pmSets.

That is correct. One "slot" grants success on 15+, two at 10+, and three at 5+.R.R. Brando wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 11:44 am I'm going with a bard. I'm taking my third set and flipping strength and intelligence:
Str: 9, Int: 14, Wis: 6, Dex: 14, Con: 13, Chr: 16
Am I understanding the skills correctly? I know three skills, +1 for intelligence, and three more for leveling? Do I need to spend extra slots to get to skilled and expert? It looked like some PCs had and some had not.
Totally viable, onscreen as well.kalstone wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 11:21 pmI'll play a thief. I'll take the second set and swap Wis for Dex.thirdkingdom wrote: ↑Fri Jul 09, 2021 7:13 pmSets.

Edit: Are mercantile ventures viable? Maybe off screen?
In that case, would it be ok if I took the third set of stats instead, switching Wis and Dex?thirdkingdom wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 6:47 pm Sets.

60,000 XP puts you at 7th level.
: 2d6+1 7 8#1d100 49 33 18 21 39 52 13 24
7,000 gp.
1d2 potions, 1 ring, 1d2 scrolls, 1d2 misc items, 1 sword, 1 misc. weapon, 1 armor.
: 3#1d2 1 2 1
: 8#1d100 85 43 21 78 44 90 28 31
Potion of poison (normally I wouldn't give this to players to start, but I'm going to assume your thief might want to start with a potion of poison)
Ring of invisibility!
Scroll of 2 spells
Scroll treasure map I
Elemental summoning device, earth
Sword +1, locate object
Axe +2
Chain armor +2
If you can't use items you can sell them, use them to attract retainers, or lend them to other PCs. When you pick your Knacks I'll roll hp.

Performance: Song (Expert)
Alchemy (Skilled)

Magical Engineering
Etiquette
For Knacks, I'll go with Arcane Performance and Silvertongue.
Edit: An now I can post without moderator approval. Awesome!
Sure, if you want to do that you can.kalstone wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 7:24 pmIn that case, would it be ok if I took the third set of stats instead, switching Wis and Dex?thirdkingdom wrote: ↑Sat Jul 10, 2021 6:47 pm Sets.

That would be Str: 10, Int: 13 (+1), Wis: 12, Dex: 14 (+1), Con: 14 (+1), Chr: 12
Knacks: Haggler, Merchant Prince, Self Improvement Secondary (Chr +2 to 14)
Skills: Bargain (Expert), Alchemy (Skilled), Knowledge: Legal System (Proficient), Profession: Attorney(Proficient)
If those last two skills are too far out there, I can change them up.
