Silvestri tries not to panic as the paralysis sets in and he slips down underneath the rail, obscuring the creature that attacked him.

He focuses his mind, attempting to use his power of magnetic control to move himself out of the way:

Initiative: [1d20] = 16

Magnetic Control: [1d20+6] = 16+6 = 22

The adrenaline rush seems to fuel his power as he drags himself backwards (equivalent strength of 16) away from the creature, trying to get to higher ground to get a better view.

Belial
Belial shakes, dog-like, to get rid of the slime. He snarls again, and attacks. Uncool, grody-smelling grommet!
init. [1d20+1] = 19+1 = 20
melee [1d20+3] = 10+3 = 13
spear [1d8+3] = 1+3 = 4

Ron steels himself firing his blaster and attacking again in melee:

Blaster: [1d14] = 9+3
Damage: : [1d5] = 5

Polearm: : [1d20] = 5+1

I'll spend some Luck to hit with my blaster, if needed.

Carcass Creeper Attack, Tunnel Complex, 297D/81 (Morning)

Combat, Round 3

  • ~The mutant grub against Silvestri (#4) gets the initiative and bites into the paralyzed psionist! (DMG 5)
    Image

MacMak fires a crossbow bolt over the body of the putrid worm (#3) and into the wall. (Miss)

Belial thrusts, twists and turns his spear into the head of the aberration (4pt. dmg).

Kurot resumes environmental input functions and notices activity ahead in the passage. He bolts out of the pod, under the lead pod and down the tunnel into the fray! The android leaps over the paralyzed body of Frank and swings his axe into the giant grub-beast. (1 hit, 3pt. dmg)

Silvestri uses his mental powers and pushes off the metal rail anchored to the tunnel floor. He scoots, on his back, 30ft across the floor into the eastern cavern and apparent safety.

  • ~The wounded monster (#1) against Belial begins to back away from the combat zone.

Bruce shoots twice at the same creeper (#4). His initial shot opens a hole in the creature’s body. (5pt. dmg)

  • ~The carrion worm engaged with Denslow and Kurot decides to attack the android. The grub’s tentacles flail at the humanoid construct, but the toxic slime has no effect. The creature appears puzzled by the tactile sensation of the androids ‘skin’.

~Ron’s opponent (#3) lashes at the cyborg. Three tentacles score a hit, but the first one rakes a metal part. (No effect) Two others rip flesh, and the cyboshark fights the paralysis toxin and remains standing. (One CRIT, Made both saves!)

Ron’s blaster automatically sears the monster with an energy bolt (5pt. dmg; 1 luck point used) but his polearm slices only air.

Denslow takes advantage of the distracted aberration and slices down into the beast with his svetlegk, (7pt. dmg) tossing blood across the floor!

Frank remains paralyzed and observes the combat whirling about.

Silvestri spies some nearby rubble with what looks like metal within and realising he has a clear path to the worm that attacked him tries to use his Magnetic Control powers to launch them at the giant menace:

Initiative: [1d20] = 19

Magnetic Control: [1d20+6] = 20+6 = 26

:o

Roll of 20 doubles the class bonus, so another +2 = 28

No of rocks: [1d8] = 3

Silvestri focuses his power and 3 rocks go hurtling towards the vile giant grub (no. 4):

rock dmg: [3d8] = 19

Carcass Creeper Attack, Tunnel Complex, 297D/81 (Morning)

Combat, Round 4

Silvestri summons his psychic powers and visualizes chunks of rubble rising into the air and then dropping onto the mutant grub (#4). Three large chunks wiggle, rise and drop onto the putrid, legged worm. The beast lets out a shriek of sorts and is squashed – DEAD! (19pt. dmg.)

Bruce holsters his pistol and charges forward towards the creature crushed by Silvestri. The synthetic sees the aberration die and changes his target to the grub-beast against Ron (#3). He leaps over the metal rail and, in flurry of nunchaku strikes, the martial arts construct pummels the wounded monster to its death! (7pt. dmg)

Kurot chops to and fro into the soft tissue of the grub’s body (#2)(11pt. dmg), severely wounding the monstrous mutant!

Denslow tries to finish the beast (#2), but cannot bring his polearm to bear. (Miss)

  • ~The creeper (#2) ignores the axe-wielding android and flails its tentacles at Denslow. Three of the organic whips lash into the plantient’s bark, but his constitution resists the paralysis toxin! (Made his save)

Belial charges at the retreating grub, swings and misses the beast as it scuttles away into the dark tunnel beyond the illumination.

Ron and MacMak pull their attacks at the last second to avoid hitting their android companion. (Both missed their attacks)

Frank remains paralyzed, but safe, on the floor of the cavern.

Kurot doesn't yell anything. He just keeps chopping the grub like it's a big, squishy, tentacled tree. On its side.

Look, as a metaphor, it's flawed. But the android sure chops the heck out of the grub anyway.

Axe: [1d20+3] = 20+3 = 23 [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4
Axe: [1d20+3] = 18+3 = 21 [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7
Axe: [1d20+3] = 10+3 = 13 [1d6+1] = 3+1 = 4

Belial

Belial barks in fury, but stops short of leaving the light. He heads back, intending to help with the remaining critter.
