Sky looks back and forth between Klilxuac and Yusdrayl as the pair briefly continue their exchange in the draconic tongue. "Common. Of course she speaks common," the tabaxi begins. "And while I appreciate the free lesson in draconic, I'd really like to know what's going on," she starts. "How else can I impart my wisdom?"

"But, of course,"
Yusdrayl says with a toothy smile. Then something Kelben said seems to register with her. "Yes, more like you -- " she says, pausing to stare at Hargrem. "Yes, more like you did pass through here earlier. Went to fight the goblins, I assume. I do not know their fate, but they have not returned."

The kobold leader nods at Meepo and, without pause, the scarred kobold -- your former, and soon-to-be present guide -- crosses the room and begins heading through the entrance through which you entered.

Hargrem quietly follows directly behind Meepo. This is getting even more interesting, he says. Missing children and now a missing dragon. People need to keep better eyes on the things they hold dear.

Once everyone begins to follow, Meepo exits the room and begins heading to the turn which leads to the previously explored long passage... with some unexplored doors. After making the turn, and spying the first door ahead on the right, Kelben asks: "What is in all these other rooms we're going to pass?"

Meepo, casually, throws out single word descriptions of each area, including those without doors.

Just after making the turn, your kobold tour guide simply says "guards" indicating the left wall. "More guards," he says when reaching the door on the right wall.

A pair of doors adorn either side of the hallway, just before the branch to the left which leads back into the large chamber you just exited. "Empty," Meepo says indicating the door on the right. "Prison," is his answer to the door on the left.

"This way," Meepo says with a hint of sadness as he leads the group back into the room with the empty cell; the room, a constant reminder of his failure. Sky, who's doing her best to maintain pace with the kobold, believes she hears their forlorn escort begin to whimper slightly as he loops the group around the firepit and back up towards the door in the right wall at the top of the room.

"Is through there," Meepo says as he wraps around another couple turns and leads the group into a roughly 50-foot long passage with a door in the left wall at the end.

Hargrem considered the question from the gnome. I think he’ll be of use. If not, he’ll die. But, that’s also the way of the gods. So, yeah, let’s bring him.

Empty Chamber
"Meepo not know goblin space, but Meepo help!" the guide says somewhat excitedly.

The group moves to the end of the hall, and after deeming the plain stone door at its end to be safe, Kelben opens it to reveal a 20-by-25-foot chamber that is mostly empty spare some rat droppings, crumbled flagstone, and various stains of an unsanitary manner.

On the opposite wall is another simple stone door of stone construction with a familiar iron ring on it. It does not appear to be locked.

I've decided that, on occasion, I am going to take the occasional liberty when it comes to mundane things such as inspecting or opening a door that is safe. As frequently as GreyWolfVT posts, it could still take a full day or two to declare that he wants Kelben to inspect it... then wait for me to respond... then declare whether or not he wants to open it.

To be clear, I will not do this every time, as I do not want to only ask and wait when there's something unusual about a door (or this will be a dead giveaway), but only when it's safe, I will occasionally make certain assumptions and progress the game accordingly.

Dry Fountain
After deeming the door to be safe, Kelben gives the iron ring a slight tug and cracks the stone door open. Dust and odd bits of stony debris and rubble lie scattered on the floor of this new area.

Off to his right, the rogue spots an ornate stone fountain built into the wall on that side. The now dry fountain is cracked and stained, and a masterfully crafted carving of a dragon diving into what was once a pool of water still retains its beauty.

On the left wall, another stone door -- this one with a relief of skeletal dragons twisted in flight carved into it -- lies locked shut.

Straight ahead, a 10-foot wide corridor continues in the direction the group is currently traveling.

I commend whoever the sculptor was. Very nice likeness of a dragon, the sorcerer comments as he examines the fountain.

Kelben nods agreeing with the dragonborn "It is very grand sculpting. Wonder how much of this is original to the citadel before it fell into the chasm." the gnome says admiring the door and fountain artwork. Then remembering where they are he looks down the open hallway to see if any goblins are coming.

Sky watches Meepo's reaction to the dragon sculptures. "This whole place was for a dragon priest cult, right? They seem to have done rather well for themselves. These carvings aren't cheap."

Dry Fountain
Klilxuac and Kelben admire the sculpted form of the dragon diving into the fountain, commenting on the skill required to obtain the lifelike features chiseled out of solid rock. The dragonborn takes a closer look at the fountain itself, and aside from a thin layer of scum coating its base, it is otherwise a normal, dried out fountain. As the sorcerer is studying the fountain's features, Kelben makes his way to the door on the opposing wall.

As soon as the gnome approaches the door with the skeletal dragon relief upon it, a chill runs down his spine. The rogue notes that the entire area within 5-feet of the door is significantly cooler than the rest of the surrounding area.

After spying some foreign symbols also carved into the door, and believing them to be draconic symbols, Kelben calls Klilxuac over to confirm and translate, which he does, as follows: “Rebuke the dead, open the way.”


Harbeck moves to keep eye over the open passage leading out of their current chamber, which the cleric notes appears to continue on after a crossing passage intersects in, running off in each direction.

Sky asks Meepo about the goblin territory, and their kobold guide reiterates that he has never been this far into the area, and assures the group that he is still willing to help.

A scurrying sound is heard coming from the passage beyond.

Overhearing the translation from the dragonborn, Hargrem was puzzled. Rebuke the dead? Gladly! Where are these dead that we need to rebuke?

Hargrem calls upon Tymora to assist him in sensing the location of any undead things in the area. He listens to help identify the sounds coming from the corridor beyond.
