Monocar

Is reminded of what it was like as a teenager when he had his last growth spurt and nothing seemed to work together correctly.

To Hit [1d20+4] = 1+4 = 5 S DMG [1d8+6] = 6+6 = 12 DMG L [1d12+6] = 10+6 = 16

The map shows him at about ten feet away. Just close enough for you to move over to him and still cast the spell this round.

Lightfinger continues.

Barely noticing his attack on the 3rd Ogre was barely noticed, the tiny adventurer maintains his trajectory and tries to stick Ogre #2 as he speeds past. Unfortunately his thrust is hasty, and his sword fails to penetrate the monster's thick hide. Intending to avoid being within reach of either of the Ogres' massive claws, he keeps moving. The first of their enemies is breaking free of Chauncey's magical conjuring, but is still incapable of attack... THIS one is the safest for him to attack! He returns his blade to its sheath and snaps his sling like a whip, digging in his pouch for a lead slug.

Ogre Attack: Round 4
Earthday, The 4th of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Hot, Sunny, Very Buggy

The battle rages on as the ogres fight back with reckless abandon. Monocar still cannot get used to being so large, whiffing at his target this time. Luther has better luck than his huge friend, stabbing into the ogre on him again. This time the ranger is able to duck the ogres club, but Monocar gets hit right in his broad chest. The blow sends the big boy reeling backwards a little bit, nearly knocking the wind out of him. 12 dam (crit)

Lightfinger tries another sneak attack on the next panicked beast, but his attempt is foiled. He decides to look for an easier target.

Seeing the fighters in trouble, Chauncey lets loose a spell that causes tiny bolts of pure energy to shoot forth into the badly injured ogre. The beast lets out a gurgled cry as it falls to the ground quite dead. Talaris steps forward and touches the back of Luther, blessing him with the healing powers of Pelor and curing the worst of his wounds. healed 5 hp

Alordan slashes again at the webbed ogre, cutting away even more of the webs for him, but missing his target completely. He is somehow able to pull his sword free from the sticky mass again as the ogre tears away at the strands some more. Lerrick slings another projectile at the beast, missing badly, but at least he isn't helping him to get free. The beast struggles against his restraints to the point where it is nearly completely free now.

Lightfinger spins his sling.

Aladdin! Duck! The Halfling shouts as he launches, the bullet whistling thru the air with blinding speed.
To hit: [1d20+6] = 16+6 = 22 Dmg: [1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6

Bullet removed.

Lerrick quickly assesses the state of Monocar's health after watching him take a devastating blow from the ogre. Seeing the other cleric tend to Monocar's injuries Lerrick loads another projectile into her sling and fires it at the ogre still caught in the webs, this time with much better results.

to hit roll: [1d20+1] = 15+1 = 16
damage roll: [1d6+1] = 6+1 = 7

Talaris

The cleric hefts his mace and will help Luther. If the ranger attacks, Talaris will also.
He will basically follow Luther's lead.

Wait, who is Aladdin? thinks Chauncey. Fresh out of spells, he will scamper around behind the hut in front of him to about ten feet to the left of the halfling with the long term memory issues. He’ll take out a dart, throw it unerringly at the ogre he previously trapped in the webs and yell ”KROK FENKUK! DA PUKATT, FANK? PUPUKA GROT?” at the beast to see if he can enrage it enough to turn towards him and entangle itself further in the sticky strands.
Surprise! Chauncey speaks ogrish. :)
Translation: “Nice loincloth! Where’d you get it? The toilet store?”
Attack with dart (THAC0:20): To Hit [1d20] = 12, Damage vs s/m [1d3] = 2, vs Lg [1d2] = 1

Alordan, hearing his name being mispronounced once again, deftly dodges to the left while stabbing his sword into the flailing beast.

Long Sword Attack [1d20] = 15 (THACO=18)

Long Sword Damage(+1 str / +3 vs. giant)) = S/M: [1d8+1] = 3+1+3 = 7 / L: [1d12+1] = 8+1+3 = 12

Strength (16) [4d6] = 16

If there were any doubts about this groups ability to succeed at their overall mission of taking down the powerful evil pirates, it fades pretty quickly once this round of fighting is over.

In a sudden unprecedented rally against the huge yellow monsters, the group rips them to shreds. Slashing, smashing, and poking them to death, each member of the party causes damage, instantly dropping both to the ground in large bloody heaps.

The group spends the next 30 seconds or so just looking around at each other, most of them sporting a did that just happen look on their face.

Lightfinger gapes.

The sudden lack of foes momentarily flabbergasts the young Hobbit. Did that just happen? I mean, we just put the hammer on these great beasts and we're barely harmed! We must be getting better at this. He scratches his head a moment before his focus again becomes clear. His facial expression notably changes and he lets out an Ah! and quickly rushes to the pair of Ogre carcasses not currently webbed to rifle thru any belongings the could be carrying. I wonder if we could trail them to their lair? I'm nearly certain there would be more booty stashed there.

Booty stash? Monocar makes a face. Like in... prison camps? You're kinda small, can't imagine you being able to stash much, but I don't wanna know... the ogres could have a lot... but I really don't wanna know... Monocar adjust his pants a little and cleans his sword. Then he perks up. hey! Instead of lightfinger doing... whatever... why dont we see if we can figure out where the ogres came from. I bet they keep better atuff there than... well... you know...

Monocar leans in to whisper loudly to Luthar. I think our Hobbit is broken. makes the *he's crazy* sign and nods to the halfling.

Then the ever hungry fighter gets another idea and stands up looking into the treetops for fruit and nuts.

Alordan takes some deep breaths to calm himself after the fight. He looks over the ogre for any clues of where they may have come from or come across. "Finding their lair could be useful. Where they a random encounter or were they working with these smugglers I wonder?"

Luther

No more broken than the rest of us. Luther smiles up (!) at Monocar.

Ranger Jax always said to beware of The Fool-Killer. I think we'd better assume these beasties work for Bing and his crew. However- I'll watch for sign that they have a lair off the trail.

WHEN the group moves on, Luther will be watching the undergrowth to either side of the trail, looking for any damage the ogres would have caused coming onto the trail.

Chauncey surveys the carnage. "Well, I am once again 'fresh out' of spells, as it were. I am confused, Luther, but what was... did you think you recognized one of them?..." He appears to be on the verge of agitation, then suddenly sighs and seems to give up. "We might have easily avoided this confrontation, but I suppose we would have had to face these beasts eventually, and perhaps under less favorable circumstances. For indeed, by my estimation they do work for Captain Bing. Did not Wesley warn us of this?"

He then also looks up at Monocar, then looks to the others and gestures to the gargantuan man with pride, as if to say See?! See what I've done? "And we got to experience this delightful treat! Magic!" he says out loud. "It's just so... I really love it. You're welcome." Then conspiratorially he adds "If you're nice, you may all get a turn one day. Can you imagine??" He is almost overcome with self-satisfaction.

"We'd best dispose of these fellows discretely so as not to alert the encampment of our approach. A great job for... a giant man!" He looks pointedly at Monogogre. "No throwing them in the river! We'd best drag them into the jungle a ways and cover them with... shrubs?" He turns questioningly to the ranger types.

The ranger looks vaguely annoyed. I misread how he was acting- I thought maybe he'd be more accepting of a non-violent meeting. I'm sorry, everyone. As for the bodies, yeah. Check them for valuables and drag them into the undergrowth. The scavengers will take care of them soon enough.
