Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
I wonder what the penalty will be for going abandoning the toy soldier army...

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
well maybe we'll have to go on a long "scouting" mission into other territories claiming to be in search of the "enemy"

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
So we are only missing GWAR and Butchness and still don't know why?
Yes, the toy soldiers seem mired in protocol and inaction so going off on a scouting mission, ostensibly in service to the toy soldiers, seems best all around.

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
GWAR! and Butchness left after the battle with the rats (and when rl prevented Grogs from keeping up with his pbp games). Here's the post.
Once we wrap up with the Quartermaster, it is my intention to fast forward a week or so for a Long Rest. Feel free to scupper this plan, if you have other ideas.

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
While I am tempted to filch goods from the quartermaster's tent and/or start getting downright immoral with these folks, I doubt we would survive the experiment. Maybe the long rest is a good idea and then we'll be considered in good enough shape to start the "scouting"(/escape).
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
If I'm summarizing correctly, it sounds like there are three proposals for where to explore next:
1. Scout the Rat Balcony
2. Bluff your way through the Wooden Doors
3. Return to the Audience Chamber
Perhaps a quick vote?
Or, you could wait for Fate to force your hand. Gentle, nurturing Fate. Sweet, delicate, gossamer-light Fate.

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
I'm more for option 1 and 2 not really looking to do option 3.

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
I'm leaning towards 2 because it's kind of a stupid idea. I also like fate, the gossamer one, especially.
But seriously, two has me curious and it's bound to end weirdly. I'll go happily with another consensus, however.

Option 2 is for real fools heroes, so that's my vote.
Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
I lean toward 1 or 2 and not 3 while severely distrusting this sinister Fate cooing in my ear. I'm fine with sacrificing myself by spearheading option 2 if that is the consensus. I think the bottom line is we need to get out of this camp, preferably without being pursued by the soldiers.

Looks like door-bluffing is the way to go!
Now, how are you going to go about it?

I think the smartest character among us should work on the plan and details of that Pulp

Re: Whispered Asides and Backroom Squabbles: OOC
Don't tease!
First we need the decoy. The packages we have seen carried through the door- do they look like something we could manage to recreate convincingly? Once that is done Horton will simply walk in and say he was asked to bring this in. He already has the outer form of a toy soldier.
In the interest of keeping the party together we can hurriedly say that a straggler from our group just came with intelligence we must investigate that could lead to the princess. We blurt this out as we leave the camp in haste so it seems we are still on task to them but don't stick around for any lengthy time where holes could show in the story.

Works for me.
