Re: OOC forum
I wrenched my back yesterday and moving at all makes me very nervous. I will probably keep up with posting but if I lag, know that I will be back up to speed as soon as I feel a little better. I will try to only take my frustration out on NPCs and not PCs.
Re: OOC forum
Man, sorry to hear that. Take care of yourself, and I hope you mend up soon.

Ice, ibuprofen, ice, stretch, ice, repeat > maybe a visit to your local chiropractor might help too. I hate it when it happens to me.
Winter is coming...
Re: OOC forum
Quick protocol question: I recall reading that the powers that be ask that threads not be longer than 20 pages. I am wondering if this needs to be followed strictly. I prefer to collate posts by topic/scenario but can split things by number of pages if that is better for whatever reason. I am asking because we are about to hit 21 pages on the current game thread. I don't want to cause problems for admin because they're the ones who let me into this fantastic playground in the first place.

Re: OOC forum
I think that "rule" is mostly a suggestion.
I have run past 20 on a few occasions and it has never been an issue.

Re: OOC forum
Yeah, I think it's a suggestion—but I'm not sure what headaches a much larger thread might cause the admins.
In any case, I would think that our present moment would be a good one to start a new thread, since our motivation is changing a bit. We've gone from directly seeking the plaques to a bit of opportunistic dungeon-delving. That seems like a good place for a chapter break.

Re: OOC forum
Will we be able to bring the horses back with us?
I hate to leave them here if Mom could use them, but it might be a moot point if we can't get through the bush with them.

Re: OOC forum
For the first half of the return trip to Mom's the horses will need to be walked as the brush and trees is thicker but it is doable. The last half of the trip back is clear enough that people can ride.

Ok, thanks!
Re: OOC forum
"Coffle!" I didn't know that word! Excellent.coil23 wrote:They quietly allow themselves to be tied into a coffle and wait for further orders.
Of course, it's a super-depressing word that I hope I never have use for, except in games like this.

Vocabulary is a passion of mine. This word is new to me this year thanks to my word-a-day calendar. Yay, something new!

I will definitely steal use that one some time.

Re: OOC forum
Two quick ones:
recusant (adj.) - refusing to submit to authority
sedulous (adj.) - involving or accomplished with careful perseverance
- diligent in application or pursuit
(Or was that request rhetorical? Too late!)

A personal favorite: Procrustean. To ruthlessly enforce conformity to an arbitrary standard.
Very useful when dealing with bureaucracies.

Re: OOC forum
Sweet! I had heard of the word but did not know what it meant. That is something I can use as both an attack on someone else and a descriptor for myself.

Please note the new entry in the DM log thread. Thank you.
