Re: OOC III
For those not entering town, there is a possible chance of encounters if not in training (about 10% each day and night). If your PC is a spell caster and will not be in town, please make sure you give me a standing list of spells.
Thanks!
Zhym, was that an accident leaving the necklace off the "to sell" list?

Re: OOC III
Oh, right, the really expensive necklace. Yup, that was an oversight.

Re: OOC III
The armlets are estimated at 75 gp, so 300 gp total.
Re: OOC III
Is the gnome jeweler also the head of the Alleborg thieves guild?
When splitting up cash among the group, please don't forget whatever we can get for Angus's not-so-old armor.
Also: is anyone else leveling and thus in need of training? Do we want to regroup in one week?

Re: OOC III
Dandelion would prefer to keep a couple of items rather than gold pieces, if that is ok...
Assuming it doesnt lower the price of the other pieces.
Can she take 2 armlets and 2 ambers (should be 304 gp worth to the jeweler, and 14 gp)
a girl prefers jewelry, ya know???

Dandelion will need to pay 200 gp to train for her next level.
for once... I knew that. She was making a lame joke, in thought.

Re: OOC III
I thought so, but then Dandelion asked for armlets and amber instead of gold. The barracks will require cold, hard coin for training.

Re: OOC III
oooohhh.... ok, wasnt paying that much attention.
Can she train before getting the xp necessary? or does the XP have to happen first?
Cause if she can train now, then yes... she would prefer to take more gold...

Re: OOC III
PCs can train at any time and do not need to have the requisite xp to do so. They just need the money.
PCs need both training and the right amount of xp to advance.

Re: OOC III
Once I know who wants to go talk to the captain, we can roleplay that conversation.
In the interest of moving the game along and allowing players to plan for training and other things, I'll reveal this: The captain will organize an inspection team to look at the goblin lair. Once confirmed, there will be a ceremony in Alleborg to recognize the party members who cleaned out the lair. The Captain will provide food and lodging for those that eliminated the goblin threat for two weeks while this is organized.
There's also a rumor that Sev (the paladin, remember him?) and a leather-clad halfling named Tempus headed south from Alleborg. The halfling returned wounded, reporting that Sev had died in an encounter.
Another rumor states that Jaspar (the thief, remember him?) decided to return to the nixie lake and serve as the swain of the nixie that enchanted him.
So, please let me know if your PC plans to train to level up. Also, feel free to discuss plans for another adventure or if the group wishes to talk with townsfolk, etc. The Captain may reveal interesting information. I'll remind you all that you don't need to stick together as a group. That was a pretty big party that wiped out the goblin lair, and although there's safety in numbers I think a few players were left with little to do. Your call.

Re: OOC III
Ilfrien will be training for one week, potentially two depending on how much gold she ends up with.
Re: OOC III
Sounds like what my brother-in-law does with his farmland. He rents it out for others to farm, or used to. Farming is for suckers. Landlording, on the other hand, is nice steady income.AleBelly wrote:Some know the laws of Alleborg, which require that all farmland be used for the production of food. This could be a way to generate some modest revenue, but they will have to hire help or do it themselves.

I'm going to ask a dumb question:
Can someone refresh my addled memory on what became of our horses? I believe one of them got chomped, but the rest?

Re: OOC III
Time slows to a crawl as Arnulf hears the twang of the bowstring. Leaves eddying in the wind seem to drift lazily as he spins around, trying to pinpoint the shooter.enn.in.me wrote:"You have people that you are sure you can trust? I'd be especially worried around the ceremony. Somebody's going to be making less money off the goblins than they have been."
"Crossbow!" he shouts, as he dramatically moves to protect the most important person on the bandstand with his own ample body. He only has a fraction of a second to make the leap that will save a life. Every move counts. He goes to leap into the air, his eyelids fluttering closed as he anticipates the impact of the bolt in his own chest. His sacrifice will mean others live on.
Unfortunately, he trips over the shaft of Chet's ridiculous pole arm and goes ass-over-teakettle across the front of the stage.
"Shitballs!" he yells, as the wind is knocked from him.
Coincidentally, "shitballs" is the phrase he's chosen to complete his Sleep spell, an incantation he had been absentmindedly mouthing as he waited for his turn to be recognized by the city's elders.
The spell goes off, and all assembled drop like so many untethered scarecrows.
The bolt thuds harmlessly into a tree. Hyde begins snoring. Loudly.

Re: OOC III
We should have an "alternative reality" thread that involves no dice, but instead everyone takes a turn writing the narrative. That's a good start!
Re: OOC III
That would be fun.
So, what's next for our intrepid band of adventurers? Unless there's a plot hook involving the spy for the goblins, the only option I know of is the orc city. I'm still not incredibly keen on wandering into a city full of orcs, though, given the results of our first foray into the goblin hole. OTOH, it's awfully cold outside to be hanging around waiting to ambush orc patrols.
Is the orc city the same place the prophet of Zoidberg or whoever it is hangs out?
