9. Five Months Later
Re: 9. Five Months Later
Lar says softly, "Do not invite anyone inside this building. You will have the gifts of Ohama unless you exit through the door."
Lar draws his sword and raises his shield then moves up to envelop Castran inside his Aura of PFE just on the outer edge and up to the door and then remains still.

Castran stands at the door. Bragar waits behind him in the narrow entry hall, followed by Lar and Gragog. Shinyah and his bears hang back in the main hall with Peytr and Bogdana. Agax remains upstairs, praying. Scarlett sleeps.
The gnome reaches for the door, opening it just a crack. Through the narrow opening in the door, he sees the figure of a tall, muscular human male. The man's bare arms and chest are covered in tattoos and scars. His skin is a pallid green. Glassy eyes look dully from a scarred, bearded face. On his left arm is a round wooden shield. In his right, a bronzed spear, the butt of which he is using to pound on the door. Although his face and body show many battle wounds, long healed into scars worn with pride, one is relatively fresh: a long fleshy red smile that hangs open across his neck.
Castran recognizes the form as Agrippo, who had rescued him from the spider's web and then fallen to Helga's charms. Five more zombies cluster behind him. One appears to have been a dwarf. Two were half-elves in life; one wears chain mail and carries a mace. Another was a dark elf; it wears banded armor. The last wears glittering plate mail, its face hidden by a helmet.
The remains of Agrippo stop knocking and look at Castran.

Scarlett awakens, caresses the silver snake chain around her arm and braces herself for some undead turning. She will go and take up a position in the rear of the corridor to the front door.

Re: 9. Five Months Later
Lar says, "Someone make sure nothing is coming in through the kitchen door. Castran if you can't hold the door we all should back up to the hall so we have some fighting room. Clerics be ready to destroy the undead with your gods power if you can."
Lar's primary focus will be to destroy these undead as well as protect the casters. "Fighters, if the house is breached in multiple locations we need to protect the casters. Circle as before, if necessary, in the hall."
Attack of opportunity, if they back into the HALL and are followed where he has room to attack.
To Hit AC0 (15) Bastard Sword +1, [1d20+1] = 12+1 = 13, Dmg vs sm [2d4+1] = 5+1 = 6 Dmg vs L [2d8+1] = 7+1 = 8

Re: 9. Five Months Later
As a reminder, the entry hall is 5' wide and 15' long. That's only enough room to line up single file. Castran is in front, followed by Bragar, then Lar, then Gragog (with Shinyah and the bears behind them in the main hall). The only way Lar would get a sword attack in is if a zombie somehow made it through Castran and Bragar first.

As the gnome feels the door give way he calls to the others that he is losing it and shouts for them to get back.
Remembering the wardings laid earlier the spellblade jumps back out of the way as Agrippo lumbers in.

Zombie Agrippo tries to push the door open. Castran tries to push the door closed. Castran is strong, but his hands slip. The door flies open.
Gragog runs off toward the kitchen door. Castran, Bragar, and Lar back into the main hall. The Zombie wearing Agrippo's face rushes after them, triggering Castran's alarm stone. The stone sprouts a mouth that shouts, "Alert! Alert! Intruder! Alert! Danger! Danger!"

Lar shifts to his right to B8 so his gifts from Ohama will be shared by those on each side of him and says, "Bragar come protrect my left flank. Gragog can you secure that door then cover Castran if he need to back out? Bottle neck them in the hallway they're in so we only fight a few at a time."

Gragog nods "Yes I can Lar. Mind you the only ranged weapon I carry is my spear." the half-orc holds the spear ready incase he needs to use it.

Re: 9. Five Months Later
Bragar moves besides Lar. Attacks the dead Agrippo. We should kill them outright one of them may have the ring we were searching for.
+3 Mace
+3 Mace tohit[1d20+4] = 20+4 = 24, todam[1d6+4] = 4+4 = 8 Critical hit
If I remember correctly there was also a sword and a ring we needed to defeat Strahd??

I thought about that as well and was curious as to why all it did was tell us what we already knew. I thought the glyph would actually harm them.Storm11 wrote:Wouldnt they activate the glyph of warding at the entrance?
