Pete and Mose care for the almost hung lawman, with Mose cutting his bonds and Pete gives him a sip of water to mull over.

Jude takes aim with his carbine but his horse bucks at just the wrong moment sending his bullet into the air.

The two Banditos force their horses to the breaking limits, they know what will happen if they're caught dead or alive.

With a practiced hand, Greene aims his rifle on the furthest Bandito and pulls the trigger. With a satisfying spray of blood the Bandito falls of his charging horse.

Without risking injury to yourselves or your new horses the remaining Bandito will get outside of your maximum range in 2 more turns.

Greene quickly looks to take down the remaining bandito.

Jude slows to aim and fires his rifle.

With Maurice safely on the ground and Ol' Pete tending to the nearly-dead deputy sheriff, Mose was sure he had a steady job as a lawman in the bag. Stopping the bandit would seal the deal for sure. He could envision his mother crying with joy if she was alive.

Mose pulled out his rifle and steadied on a rock. He took aim at the largest object - the horse - knowing that, even a non-fatal shot would slow the bandit, allowing Jude and Greene a better chance at catching the man.

Initiative [1d20+3] = 1+3 = 4 And I made the same mistake with my bonus (only 1, not 3), so the initiative roll is only 2.

The vision of his tearful mother fades as he curses. Double-damn and shit-fire!

Jude and Greene's shots impact into the body of the bandit at the same time, sending the poor man flying over the head of his horse (with a classic Wilhelm Scream)

Mose sighs as he watches his bullet plow into the dirt 30ft to the left of the horse and Bandito.

Deputy Maurice rubs his throat and barely croaks out his words or anger and disgust. "Them damned, good fer nuttin', yeller bellied, bastards! When I gits to hell I'm gunna make 'em regret playing into the devils hand! Closing his eyes for a moment he takes a deep breath and speaks again, this time slower and much less croaky "My thanks to you men, if you'll help me ride back to my offices I think the least I could do is make you deputies under my name, if you'll have it of course."

Greene rides to the body of the slain bandits to look for anything of use or value.

Well, I can't speak for the other'n, but I'm guessing you just got yerself some deputies.

Pete will help the deputy up and get him set on a horse.

Filled with glee, Mose draws both of his pistols and fires shots into the air. Gosh Deputy-Sheriff Maurice, That's mighty white of ya! Deputy Mose! Who knew!? Mose jumped into his saddle, ready to get his pin.

The Banditos are both armed with fancy medium pistols and one had a knife with a handle in the shape of a horse cast in gold, it'd probably be worth $50 to the right person.

After a few moments of rest Maurice climbs up on one of the banditos horses and calls to the group "Welp, come on then, lets get you deputized officially. You'll get your pins tonight, but you'll have to wait till morning before I can make the announcement to the town."

If no one has any other actions they wish to do we can continue onto the sheriffs office.

Ol' Pete beams with pride a little bit, having never really amounted to much so far in his lifetime.

Greene begins to see the opportunity in law jobs. He show a slight grin and follows for his own star.

mose is already saddled, ready to go.

Oh. Don't we need to get Pete's face checked by a doc? And what happens to the cowboy that came here with us? The mcNett guy.

Pete could if he wanted to, but it was only a little bit of shrapnel and he got a majority of it out already. The McNett man's horse was slower and so he only arrived after the action and is now already returning to town.

You arrive at the Sheriffs Office with Deputy Maurice at around 10:45pm, sore and busted, but victorious you get off your horses and enter the small Office building with 3 cells and an overturned desk, papers fluttering across the floor. Maurice motions for you guys to wait a moment as he quickly gathers up the papers and sets the desk right. "Boys I can't thank you enough for saving my hide out there." handing each of you a shiny silver deputy star, much like his own he continues "Alright no go get some rest, because tomorrow we begin a hunt for those bastards that think they can terrorize my town."

If nobody has any objections we can fast forward into the morning of the next day

He then retreats for as restful a sleep as he can achieve.

Mose's father had often accused him of having a "shit-eatin' grin" on his face when he was up to something. Mose was sure his father would be accusing him right now - his face ached from all the smiling. Shore thing, Deputy-Sheriff Maurice. We'll git them hombres in the morning. Make 'em pay. After offering to use the bandits' money to cover expenses for the others, Mose walked his two horses to the stables and made arrangements to have them boarded before finding his own room in the inn.

Roll on, buddy.
