she answered that previously. Strahd in the catacombs or so she suspects he spends lots of time there according to her.greyarea wrote:Melampus
Melampus nods at the woman's reaction and slips between her and the other cleric. Please don't be offended, but with the castle itself and our recent encounters, I'm afraid our friends are a bit jumpy. I'm sure he was just casting a spell of healing in case you have any unseen wounds. Mojo is not on his mind. We just need to get you back to your town healthy.
Can you also tell us where the master of the manor might be located? We're seeking ... an audience with him.

"I am quite well," repeats Helga, with a shocked look. "And it would not be proper for any of you to 'look me over!' I—why would you take advantage of me in such a way? Just because I need your help to get back to me mum? Are...are you here to kill Strahd, or help him?"

Tumbler gets annoyed. Yer in the house of a vampire so yes we need to look ye over. Ye can just as easily be a bloodsucker yerself and yer smart enough to know why were are asking what we are. Now let us make sure you are what ya seem so that we can forgo all this bullshittin'
Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
Helga falls to her knees and starts to cry. "Please," she sobs, "all I want to do is get out of here. Why won't you help me without—without—violating me?" She looks up at Tumbler with tear-filled eyes. "You should be ashamed!" she accuses.

Robert says as he consoles the girl, "My dear it's ok as he waves off the prodding hands. Back up a bit and give the girl her space. He winks at Bragar to see if he knows anything? My name is Robert. Tell me Helga, have you seen any unusual rings while you have been cleaning? I hear there may be a very special one in the castle that the master doesn't like? I fear that we may not be able to leave as the castle is surrounded by poisonous gases. Did the master ever warn you of those? I think we'd need to wait until daylight to leave anyway because it's too dangerous to leave at night. Are there any places you aren't allowed to go in the castle? Is there any place in the castle that strahd or his minions won't go?"

Re: 7. There Has to Be a Morning After
There are simpler ways to check to see if she's a vampire. Present a lawful good holy symbol at her, or place some garlic buds in her palm pretending it's a gift. Garlic buds are the material component for slow poison so the clerics would have some in their spell component pouches possibly. There is something about a mirror as well but I can't remember what.
Castran will move around the room as the others stand chatting with Helga. He will look for a mirror in the chamber, check the window if there is one to see if it's closed or open to the sky, and see if the girl has any belongings, and will say as much if Helga asks what he is doing. "If you are leaving here we had best pack your things deary!"

Fendt "That is if the lord captured you and brought your stuff with you. Sorry Helga we are here to kill Strahd not help the bastard. I apologize dear. Anything you need taken with you we had best gather up." the half elf tries to calm the girl and cheer her up. I miss having a paladin he'd be able to sense this stuff without "violating her"

Robert motions for the rest of the party to give Helga some space. He then asks several questions: Has she seen an unusual ring? Does she know of poisonous gases? Is there anywhere she isn't allowed to go in the castle? Is there anywhere Strahd won't go?
Helga sniffles and stands up. She seems confused by the barrage of questions. "I seen no strange rings, m'lord. If Strahd don't like a ring, why keep it in the castle? Everyone in Barovia knows of the mists, m'lord. They keep us from leaving this cursed place. And, begging your pardon, m'lord, but there t'aint anything outside this castle, day or night, but that there's something worse in the castle. I don't know if Strahd don't go anywhere. There is a room I'm not to enter. It's upstairs, next to the study. And I don't clean the catacombs, m'lord, because why clean catacombs?"
Castran looks for a mirror or window. There are no windows in this room, and as you might expect in the castle of Strahd, no mirrors are to be seen. He tells Helga she should pack her things.
"I was brought here with nothing," she replies. "Ain't nothing here I want to take with me. Please, can we leave this horrible place now?"
She eyes the party warily, still suspicious after the talk of looking her over. She looks up at Agrippo. "You seem strong and noble, m'lord. Surely you will help me?"

Doesnt anyone have any holy water. We could get her to wash away her tears and sniffles with it. If she's just a girl it won't make any difference to her. If she isn't.... Well ....
"Fair enough Young lady. What's your mamma's name child? We stayed in the village and may have met her!"The gnome remains in the room at the corner by the bed still looking thinks over and keeping an eye surreptitiously on the conversation and the girl in general.
PS, is the sunsword still shining it's undead alert?

Iluq walks forward, a gentle look in his eyes, "I truly do apologize to you Helga, this place... this place has taken much from us, a dear friend is gone, our wits challenged every night with little sleep due to roaming specters... I would ask your forgiveness at our callous disregard of your privacy. It is true, we are battered and running on very little sleep; Our wits are not full with us it would seem." Iluq then takes out his holy symbol, letting it be clearly shown to her.
If nothing happens he will give her a warm smile, "Do you pray? Before we leave this blasted castle and return you to your home, let us pray to the gods for strength and protection, so that the evil of this place does not stop our exit."

Tumbler's face flushes deep red at the girls protests. I am so sorry and I am ashamed of me own rudeness. He takes a step closer to her before turning to address the rest of the group. I acted the worst so I will take the responsibility to watch and protect the lass. We can't leave her here, shes lucky to still be alive. While looking at Iluq he says to the group, So lets stop puttin the poor girl through the wringer and just focus on the task o' gettin outta here.

Melampus throws Castran a glance then turns to Helga and says, Yes, my colleague is right. We do wish to get you out of here, but we need to find what is causing our friend's sword to glow so. May we search your room, perhaps there is an unquiet dead nearby.

To the whole group he says, So lets go!

Castran shakes his head and follows the party, ensuring he is always at least two people away from her, eying the sunsword to see if it stops glimmering at all as They move, but not expecting it to.
