Chance salesman
inside diner, kitchen
Chance twirls the mop handle around, getting used to its size and weight. This'll have to do" he says softly to himself. He realizes the shit has hit the fan, and that they may be trapped here for a very long time. Cell towers are down, communication systems are down, and it's just a matter of time before power is out. His head swims and he has to concentrate to generate coherent thoughts.
He remembers power outages from his childhood, where the well shut off. He decides to head to the kitchen and begin filling the largest clean pot he can find with water. As it's filling, he'll go check on Norm in the storeroom and see what he's up to.

Chingy
By the bikes
Holy Mary mother of........ Chingy pulls something a bit bigger out of his bags and shoves it in the back of his jeans. He then slides something into his front pocket.
He starts to back away from these things coming towards them and looks around for something to swing at them with. A parking sign in a pail of sand he can pull out? A utility truck with a shovel or a 2x4 in the back? Anything from the wreckage that might be used as a club or blade?
He knows he will have to get close with his knife and he would rather keep these infected freaks at arms length minimum.

Tiny biker
Tiny backs up.
I don't like this man. We gotta get out of here.
He looks back towards the diner, then back at Chingy & Whitey, waiting to see what they do.

Whitey Biker
Parking lot moving back towards diner.
Grab your saddle bags and lets move back to diner! We need to find a building with better security. We wont be safe very long with large glass windows of the diner. He is looking for something larger to swing.

Steve B. - Trucker
If the fire exit closed....it probably only opens out
Steve moves from the back area to the booths to see out the windows. The sight of the mayhem and his burning truck get his blood-up. Seeing the bikers out with the infected, he'll suggest "We should lock their asses out there, [to Norm the busboy] at least get ready to close and lock the door behind them when they get in?" Steve then lights-up a smoke.

Tucker Riley - Night Watchman
Inside diner
With Mel in a state of shock and not answering, Tucker gives up on getting a response and heads into the kitchen. He sees Chance filling a pot of water and assumes he is going to boil it on the stove (I know otherwise). Tucker then moves back into the dining area and heads towards the front door. Once he gets there, he check to see if the door can be locked quickly.

John J. Pongrass – Camera Man
Outside, SE corner of diner (if up is north)
“Alright, Derek, I thinks that’s enough. We don’t need those buggers heading our way!” Looking around the outside of the diner, John says to Derek,
“I think we need to find a way onto the roof. Let’s see if the dumpsters are high enough.”

Derek Lancaster- Journalist
Outside the diner
Derek joins John in checking out the dumpsters to see if the survivors will be able to reach the roof from them. Good idea. This footage does us no good if we aren't around to receive any honors. Look for anything we can use as weapons while we are out here- on the ground, in the dumpsters... There has to be something.

About 5am, dark, cloudy sky, dawn about to break.
The BIKERS grab their bags from the bikes and look about for weapons. You don't see anything worthwhile at all. Twisted bits of metal & wreckage. The bikes themselves aren't in bad shape. You notice one small car, that looks untouched by the crash. An old Toyota Corolla. A 4x4 truck looks pretty smashed up near the ambulance, but it has a gun rack and a hunting rifle inside. But its pretty close to those things.....
===========================================
CHANCE fills two huge pots with water in the industrial sized sinks. Then goes to check on NORM. He entered the food storage room. You don't see him at first, but he is sitting in the dark in one corner of the room behind some shelves, whimpering.
You notice the back door to the kitchen is partly open.
TUCKER & STEVE have the same idea- LOCK UP the front door! Its a small, mostly glass alcove with some video games in it. The lock is a simple bolt that can be locked from the inside. Bad news is- the door is mostly glass, along with most of the walls. But you can tip the machines over so anyone would have a very hard time getting in. (if they could at all). But the Bikers are still out there.
MEL isn't a help. He does a 180 and runs into the kitchen. He disappears inside his office.
FLO keeps blabbering.
We gotta get outa here. Lets run out the back.
SYRUS & DEAN mill about, not sure what to do. They keep looking out the window at the action.
========================
JOHN & DEREK give up recording and head to the back of the diner. You notice the back kitchen door is ajar. The dumpsters aren't tall enough to reach the roof, and the lids are flimsy plastic. You might be able to balance on the edge and grab the end of the roof to pull yourself up. But the roof itself doesn't look that sturdy, and that dark cloudy sky bothers you. You would be pretty safe up there, but exposed.
You look around for weapons- anything usable, but no luck.
You do see something about 100 yards away in a field near behind the diner. Several figures crouched over something pink. It looks like one of those waitress uniforms......

John J. Pongrass – Camera Man
Outside, Near Dumpsters
John motions to Derek,
"Hold on, something is out there." He raises the camera and uses the zoom to focus on the figures and pink object.
Edit: Corrected Location

Chingy
outside by the bikes
Shit man! I don't see anything we can use to clobber these things with. Maybe we better head around back and check on the others inside? They might have something we could use in there.
Chingy grabs the rest of his things out of his bags and heads around the side of the building, heading for the back door.
When he sees what the others are looking at he says Awww hell!!! Aint that one of the waitresses out there? She must have tried to make a run for it? Them things are coming for us! We best get our asses somewhere safe for now!

Its
BARB the waitress. Three of those things are huddled around her biting...eating....
They stop suddenly and get up. The body shudders, then sits up. The dead waitress gets up and joins the other three creatures. Now there are four.
As you pan around with the camera on its highest magnification, you can see other figures in the distance. Its too hard too tell much detail, but the shuffling gait gives it away. More of those infected people. Those things.

Chance, back in the store room, looks at Norm then exits (he closes the store room door if there is one).
He runs to the back kitchen door, which is slightly open. He looks to see if it's safe, then yells "HEY YOU DIPSHITS!! What are you doing out there? Those biters are coming towards us!!! I'm closing and locking this door in 15 seconds!!!"
Chance barely notices that his voice is cracking and is an octave higher than normal.

Steve B. - Trucker
Seeing everyone around back, Steve will help secure the front door. Looking closer at the creepy through the windows, "what the hell is wrong with those things?" Steve gives one the middle finger through the window and then takes a drag from his smoke. He'll then try changing the channel on the TV inside the dinning area.

What are you doing to secure the front door?
Did you catch my description of the Diner entrance?

John J. Pongrass – Camera Man
Outside, Near Dumpsters
“Aw, bloody hell!” mutters John. He looks around for something to wedge the wheels of the dumpsters (crushed aluminum cans should suffice).
If he can find something, John will move a dumpster into position, block the wheels and then attempt to climb onto the roof. Before he attempts the climb, he will try and determine if he has enough time before the “woods zombies” reach his location.
