Iluq, seeming satisfied with his search, heads back to the group, "I can take watch for the night where I am needed. Let us rest and recover our strength, we must find Ireena."

Vorkath helps move furniture to block the north door and west door, and spikes the others shut. The paladin will then pray, replenish the fire with books, sleep and take a watch as necessary. He suggests Agrippo put the Sun Sword in a visible place where any watch guards can see its glow.

simple solution roll for watch order. First Watch Ravenloft[1d6] 1-2 Fendt & Robert 3-4 Agrippo & Illuq 5-6 Tumbler & Vorkath. Results: First Watch Ravenloft[1d6] = 2 1-2 Fendt & Robert 3-4 Agrippo & Illuq 5-6 Tumbler & Vorkath Fendt & Robert for first watch.
Second Watch Ravenloft[1d4] 1-2 Agrippo & Illuq 3-4 Tumbler & Vorkath results Second Watch Ravenloft[1d4] = 1 1-2 Agrippo & Illuq 3-4 Tumbler & Vorkath Agrippo & Illuq 2nd watch leaving 3rd watch to Tumbler & Vorkath.

Three points on that suggestion:
  • You left Tibbius out of the watch lottery.
  • You probably don't want a spell caster taking a middle shift unless you think he can study his spells during his shift and you're sure he won't be interrupted.
  • Three shifts of two each will mean three-hour shifts if Robert is going to get the 6 hours sleep he needs.

was using whom I thought had offered but we can leave Tib and Robert out and have agrippo solo i guess. Change it to Fendt and Illuq/Vorkath/Agrippo something like that I was just making a less debated solution.

So we have the following watch order?
  1. Fendt & Robert: 1:10-4:10
  2. Tumbler & Vorkath: 4:10-7:10
  3. Agrippo & Iluq (Iluq studying during his "watch"): 7:10-10:10

Sorry to nitpick on this, but since you're setting up camp in the middle of a mostly hostile castle, I need to know who will be on watch when the wandering-monster dice start rolling.

Robert says, "Sound ok I guess. I'll rest from 4 to 10 and study till noon, and hope it's a quiet night. I'll check the sunsword occationally but won't disturb anyone unless it gets really bright meaning they are really really close like in the next room?"

Tib is already curled up on the most comfortable shorter divan sleeping like a baby.

Mr. DM: I'm thinking about switching some spells up. Do you want a list or should I just do it on the sheet?

Please post your new spell list in the OOC thread in the same format as I've used in the first post of the character sheet thread. Thanks.

Before retiring, Vorkath flagellates himself behind the closet curtains for not finding Ireena and failing to Turn undead. Though the paladin destroyed a Heart of Evil, perhaps the True God does not find him deserving enough. From these lashes he hopes the True God will find him more worthy of divine strength and wisdom.

Robert begins his watch and surveys the area for entry and stays alert. Not wanting to make noise to attract attention to their resting area he simply keeps an eye on things and listens for unusual activities. He notices that the sunsword flares a bit as Agrippo rips one and the gas hits the sword. He soon realized that staying quiet around the group of snoring and other bodily sounds emitted from the group more than cover any chit chat he might have with Fendt.

Robert says, "Fendt, let's hope we have a good night my friend."

Robert draws his scimitar and keeps his shield ready during his watch while checking the sunsword occasionally.

Location: Castle Ravenloft, Study

Fendt and Robert are on guard. It's been only about twenty minutes since the rest of you made your reinforcements to the security of the study, placed the Sunsword near the center of the room as a warning beacon, and settled down to sleep on the comfortable plush couches and overstuffed chairs.

The Sunsword suddenly illuminates the room like a flaring blue sun. Moments later, you hear thumpings from the northwest door.

The sofa barricade seems to be holding...for now.

Status: Agrippo: 33/52, Vorkath: 36/36, Tibbius: 14/22, Randolph: 4/4, Iluq: 21/34, Tumbler: 24/39, Robert: 16/27; Fendt: 15/15
Effects: None

Fendt wakes Agrippo, Vorkath and Illuq. "Be ready men the sunsword is indicating trouble."

Just to clarify: did you spike the door to Gertruda's room?

Her's was furniture. The northwest door (to the spiral staircase on your map) was spiked. The north door we originally came in from was furniture.

Vorkath draws forth Excommunicator and prepares to fight.

If you want to keep those doors closed, you need to use spikes, not furniture:
Zhym wrote:The two doors in the north wall open into the study; the other two open out.
