I didn't go away idd But I've restarted to work yesterday.

So did my wife, who teaches in a middle school. My university starts again on the 30th. My brain starts up again the week after that.

we're going back to work on the 6th.

But as I'm teaching freshmen this year, I don't go back to work until at least the 20th.

I am glad to be back now. I was getting a bit bored. And I'm happy to see my students again.

So you get the same ones every year? I get a new batch every year...

I an only teaching in the English department so, except for first year students, I see mostly the same faces every term. I rather like it.

ok, but do you actually teach the same students or the next batch that rises to the grade you're teaching?

As for me, I flip flop every year. Same topic, but it seems one year is freshmen, the next is sophomores, then back to freshmen, etc.

This year is freshmen...thus why the late start for me.

I teach 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year courses so I often have the same students several semesters in a row. Sometimes I get a student in three different courses in the same term.

Uh, I forget: what are we supposed to be doing here and why?
