Thordin the dwarf will approach the broken door and the darkness beyond, still holding the rowan shield and keeping the magic sword in his hand at the ready.

Checking the new door our friendly scout jokes: "When we own this place remind me to keep a master key to all these locks."
Saul doesn't forget to check for traps.

Tratiln walks slowly around, poking randomly with his quarterstaff here and there. He will also take this time to search for secret doors.

Tratiln finds no secret doors as he paces about the room. He does, however, notice that the destruction seems to be fairly recent, at least some of it. Some fragments of wood still retain their natural color, not having faded to the silver-grey of old wood yet. There are several discolored patches on the floor where it appears a cask of wine or barrel of beer has been shattered that, while not wet, still remains slightly sticky to the touch.

Marodin
Marodin will follow Thordin closely, or stand beside him if room allows.

Lanny the elf
Lanny looks around at all the rotting vegetation and shattered wine barrels.
"This hardly looks like a crypt. It seems to be more of a wine cellar. And yet, it appears that something has been through here somewhat recently and ransacked the place. Possibly a hungry animal?"
Lanny keep his bow ready as he looks at the stout wooden door.
"Whatever creature it was must have broken through this door to get to the rotting food and wine."
Lanny starts to look closely for any animal tracks or other animal signs in the sticky patches of wine or near any of the rotting food. He will have an arrow ready to fire when any party member approaches or tries to open the door.

The party moves slowly down the corridor, weapons draw and readied. It is about forty feet long, at the end of which is another door. There are also two doors set into the length of the hallway, located about twenty feet from the cold storage door. All three doors have been violently ripped from their hinges and discarded.
The two doorways in the length of the hallway open into empty rooms; nothing appears to be in either. The doorway at the end of the hall leads to another set of stairs, going down.

"I'm not liking the looks of this."
Saul takes a look at the smashed doors and the dark staircase and he worries that whatever is responsible for the destruction they witnessed is hiding in the dark.
"Why don't you stay up here with your torches while I sneak down and see what I can see with my goggles? I'll signal you when it's safe to go down."
I reckon I can use Move Silently and Hide in Shadows here, right?

Marodin will more closely examine one of the apparently empty rooms while Saul scouts ahead.

Marodin examines the two side rooms as Saul slowly eases down the stairs. The two rooms are virtually empty, except for a smattering of debris. It appears as if the rooms were never used; there is no sign of any work having been done to ready the rooms for use.
Saul edges down the stairs, goggles on. After an slight turn around the building the stairs open up into a hallway. A number of rooms lead off from the hallway. Using the heatvision abilities of this goggles, Saul discerns a cold draft emanating from a door at the end of the hallway. He inches along the hallway, until perhaps twenty feet from the staircase the toe of his boot catches an ill-placed rock and sends it flying down the hallway. Saul is aware of the grave-like silence of the place when it crashes with a loud clatter against a wall. Moments later he hears an incoherent, gurgling roar from further down the hallway, and the sound of crashing.

Saul bolts up the stairs and positions himself at the top of the staircase.
"We are definitively NOT alone here!"

The young scout bounds back up the stairs, taking the steps three at a time. Behind him he can hear the same liquid, roaring and the sound of heavy, somehow
liquid treads.

Tratiln will stow his quarterstaff again and draw his sword and shield, taking up his standard position in the battle formation. "Any idea what maybe approaching?"

Thordin the dwarf will move forward, very slowly but making sure he is at point, towards the roaring and intercept anything that is following Saul and strike with
Dannedd Blaidd.
"Steady yourselves for impact!"

It dawns on Saul what's on his friends's mind.
"Do it! They'll draw it it while we attack from behind!"
