Remember the hole is only wide enough for one person at a time, and is about 10' up from the platform. There's a ladder going down too.
This is the part that's kicking me in the gut. If we launch our attacks from the passageway, we can only get one at a time, maybe 2, and the chances for hue and alarm sounding rise as more foes are left standing.

Blodgett stops fidgeting, and stands still for a few moments. He then speaks: "I gots it. Turn me invisible, and I go in first, get behind the human, and backstab! He acts out the motions as he speaks. Then in comes the sleep on the orcs... or? ... he trails off, realizing how odd it must be to instantly fall asleep.

Day 1– In the complex – 11:25 a
The Slave Pits

.

The map has the sewage moat on it, with the ladder noted (upper right) and the X where the hole is. Please let me know if there are other questions. Here’s the plan thus far:

Phanstern: two pronged attack using sleep, illusion and invisibility, or some sort of ruse
Freda: jumping out of the hole, shootin’ with the arrows
Blodgett: shootin’ with the sling, or go invisible and backstab the accountant
Elwita: jumping out of the hole, doin’ some hammerin’
Kayen: kill the accountant while invisible, sleep the orcs, arrows for the rest
Dredd: cast slow on the accountant and weasels, sleep and colour spray on the orcs, and attack
Eljay: kill ‘em all
Ogre: quietly contemplating :)

Meanwhile the slaves start to grumble a bit. One in the back pipes up, you’re going to attack? I thought you were getting us out of here?

.

HPs: Elwita - 26/50; Ogre - 45/45; Delgath - 25/25; Blodgett - 10/20 ; Freda - 29/40; Phanstern - 25/25; Eljayess - 17/25; Kayen - 25/25
WIH: Elwita: war hammer (cross bow), shield; Ogre: Long sword (20' radius light) (short bow), shield]; Delgath: Staff; Blodgett: short sword (sling); Freda: long bow (long sword), shield; Phanstern: dagger, lantern; Eljayess: Spear, shield (long bow); Kayen: long sword (long bow), shield]
MO: Lul, Eljayess, Kayen, Blodgett, Ogre, Elwita, Freda, Delgath, Phanstern, Arno 13 slaves…….
Consumables: Bullseye Lantern (Phanstern) - (129 minutes left) 80' radius, 10' wide beam; Torch - (not lit, 60 minutes), 40' radius.
--------Spells: Delgath 1-4/4, 2-1/2, 3-1/1 : Phanstern: 1-3/4, 2-2/2, 3-0/1; Eljayess: 1-2/4, 2-2/3; Kayen: 1-3/3, 2-2/2

.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Eljay is gonna help on the bean counter (always wanted to kill one) using the spear and hold person if necessary.

Yeah, let's do something soon here, or Freda is going to walk up to the opening and just start shooting...

I think spell-casters to the front - they let rip, then the fighters go down and finish off...easy!

Ogre's plan is simple....charge and hack and slash...he's good at that and has decent armor and HP; so I'm happy to be the meat-shield in whatever plan is chosen/randomly decided upon!

Sorry, guys, it's been a wicked week.
you’re going to attack? I thought you were getting us out of here?
Be still! Phanstern hisses at the growing mutters behind him. One of your own said there are more slaves here, and our mission is to free the slaves. ALL the slaves. It would be so much easier if some of you would take hold of a weapon and aid us, as we have aided you, instead of using your new freedom only to faunch.

Returning to his Fellows, Phanstern continues. Right, then. The weasles must be dealt with first, they are too quick and alert to allow chance. Color Spray will take out some, all if we're lucky. Then Master Bookeeper. A Hold spell might do it, but a Slow will also peg any leftover weasles (I was SO hoping we could save that Slow for the Slavers!). He casts his gaze over his shoulder and hushes his tone, so Lul cannot hear. Orcs are brutish and stupid, we can save them for last with a Sleep spell, and save the Invisibility, along with most of our muscle, for the Slavers. After the spells have been cast, our Warriors can descend the ladder and have at anything still upright.

"Sounds like a good plan, Phan," replies an anxious Freda. "Everyone just make sure and stay out of the way when we start taking out the orcs along the wall that aren't standing... Arrows will be flying."

Dredd will creep - presumably with Phan - to the ladder and then let rip with Slow onto the bookkeeper and his weasels.

Phanstern's girth makes the sneak thru the passageway with Dredd seem even more narrow, but once at the opening, if possible he will time his Color Spray to go off simultaneously with his partner's spell.

OOC: My vote would be either for Blodgett so that he can attempt to get into backstab position or one of the spellcasters so that they can get in an area-effect spell from an unexpected location.

As said in my last post; Ogre is happy to be the lead meat-shield/hack-n-slasher.....:)

As soon as he does that, we need to be ready to post our actions... Possibly in the order we need them to be?

Day 1– In the complex – 11:25 a
The Slave Pits

.

Here’s the update if that helps:

Phanstern: take out weasels first with color spray, then the accountant with hold person or slow, sleep the orcs, save the invisibility, then attack everything left standing
Freda: jumping out of the hole, shootin’ with the arrows at anything standing
Blodgett: shootin’ with the sling, or go invisible and backstab the accountant
Elwita: jumping out of the hole, doin’ some hammerin’
Kayen: cast invisibility on Blodgett, kill the accountant while invisible, sleep the orcs, arrows for the rest
Dredd: cast slow on the accountant and weasels, sleep and colour spray on the orcs, and fighters jump down and attack
Eljay: kill the bean counter with spear and hold person
Ogre: charging into battle and killing everything he sees

The slaves are still restless but seem sufficiently cowed by Phansterns admonitions.

I don't want to push you guys into acting, but you are at that point. Just let me know if anything above changes. I'll go with the above plan in 24 hours unless folks post something more organized, or change their actions. Please let me know if there are any other questions. Thanks!
