“Don’t forget that Mad Dog’s body is still at the morgue,” Metz said.
“We have to handle that, and perhaps there is something about it that will tell you something that they missed. And Treegarden also said his old ship was scrapped. Does that mean it’s gone or might the wreck tell us something, too?”

"Do you think someone could be watching our bay?" Metz asked.
"Without the Marine guards, they might be interested to see what Mad Dog was hiding. Or they might want to tie up loose ends, if this is something they fear he might have left evidence about. I never left the ship until Treegarden came and dragged me out. They might be waiting for us."

Assuming that no one objects, searching Mad Dog's quarters is a disgusting task, but at least he only had five days to get settled in. Other than the expected personal belongings, you find a beat-up tablet that his birthday unlocks, and some sticky notes on his terminal. They seem to be notes to do various things: Set up purchase accounts with the information Treegarden gave him, how much do I pay an android?, Scan the final guild paperwork and set up a filing system in the computer, get a more organized folder to hold physical documents, get crew to TAS offices for their ID, Order more taco meat, figure out where I lost my shades, and finally a note with a name and comm code: Eudoro Lusuro, GLIPS, and a comm code.
You are finished in less than an hour and Roscoe can commence cleanup if you so desire.

Jaelah appears at her new cabin door.
"I found a note with a comm code. Who can run it down without alerting the owner? Also, Mad Dog mentioned purchase accounts, and losing his eye protection glasses. Can someone start checking on those?"

Garvin states
"I'm not a comms specialist but Mad Dog's bins were in the mess" he looks the glasses over to see if (like his own) they are electronically enhanced with additional features or data storage devices.
Checking over the note he comments
"GLIPS is the Glisten Institute of Planetary Studies it's located on the asteroid Was-hin in the Glisten belt. I'll search the public domain data sites for background info on the name Eudoro Lusuro at GLIPS".
OOC:
Examine glasses for "extras" [2d6]=12 adding Electronics 2 (Intrusion) Int +1 plus physical example present as reference.
Public Domain research on name, GLIPS, name at GLIPS [2d6]=7 Edu +1??? Not sure if there's a skill / unskilled for Google-fu.

They are unenhanced. Just a pair of battered, low tech shades.

His name pops up as a graduate student at GLIPS. The image shows a young man, perhaps in his late 20s or early 30s. His studies are a bit obtuse to parse but seem to revolve around locating and extracting rare minerals in asteroids.

Electronics (Computers). This would be an easy task, so INT+ or EDU+ with a target of 4. That means adding one your characteristic mods (your choice between INT and EDU) to a 2d6 die roll and hitting the target. With your stats, you automatically succeed at this kind of basic public google fu.

Jaelah looks at her new compatriots, suddenly realizing that she is the only woman in the guild - counting the ship itself. She shunts that line of thought away, and focuses on the task at hand.
"I would suggest that we surveil him until we can determine if he is a possible victim, or one of the perpetrators."

I'm not sure Roscoe would agree with that assessment.
I know, the whole ship is feminine as to the pronoun. What a complex universe we live in.

Since I'm uploading the data for the robots and just saw something that Roscoe would have commented on, I'm having him speak up.
Roscoe steps over to Jaelah. "A moment, please. Since we tangentially discussed retrieving Mad Dog's body from the morgue, I should mention that the Doc Bot in our medical bay can act as a medical examiner. If the autopsy was substandard--or if one were not performed at all--we could rectify that here and you would have data you could be certain wasn't sloppy or manipulated."

"Very good," Jaelah says with a slight smile.
"Does anyone have knowledge of local laws? Perhaps we can claim his remains as his business associates - or nearest family, if we can determine a way to accomplish that."

OOC: Treegarden said you could, and she would most likely know.
"I have just checked all relevant laws, regulations, and codes," Roscoe said.
"As his crew/partners/employees, we are allowed to claim his body for the purpose of final disposition. That includes the possibility of burial in space, so bringing him back to the ship would not seem unusual. Once your work is done, we could flash freeze him in one of the low berths for later disposition."
