Ugh. I got used to Unseen sending me emails to prompt me to log in. Hopped on this morning and something like 25 alerts piled up. Considering you only get one alert per thread at a time...

This is what I was trying to post in my previous post.

Doos needs a new horse... And not one with a local brand.

I have a list of the loot ready, I'll post it this evening. I'm going to skip some IC interaction and let everyone know that the brands on the stolen horses aren't ones you've seen before. Four horses have one brand and two another one.

One of the bareback horses appears to be an Excellent grade sorrel stallion. The saddled horse appears to be an Excellent chestnut mare. The other horses appear to be Good quality. It seems that the rustlers cherry-picked the goods.

Based on the PCs' backstories, only PCs scout Charlie and cowboy Sebastian are from around this part of the country. They can both roll Observation checks to see if they might have seen these brands in Hays County (San Marcos, Hoffman's) or Comal County (the PCs' present location out in a remote spot on the prairie in Comal County). Doos has already expressed reservations about horses with out-of-county brands, but not exactly elucidated about why....

These rustlers held our own character horses too did they not? While my own horse was a basic and underwhelming nag with little flair or intelligence, it was still my horse.

Sebastian would be happy getting his own back, being released from any parole or bail conditions and having a little money to pay a Doctor to see him back together.

I will take the deck of cards only for roleplaying my gambling skill.

If I have to choose a horse, a 'lazy S' one would be fine. easiest to rebrand ...

Paladin will take his original horse, a lever carbine rifle, extra ammo, and his share of the divided-
up money.

If there are extra pistols left over, we could sell and divide the proceeds.

Paladin would inquire about the branded horses in San Marcos, and turn them in. If unclaimed, he’d trade up his own for a better.

Anyone can do a Law roll to know how stolen horses are handled under the law. (But only Doos and William are likely to succeed).

Anyone take anything else? Paladin has already said that you/he would take any unclaimed firearms to sell. And that you would take the stolen horses. What do you do with any unclaimed stuff? For example, the knives, watch, etc.?
