OOC
Re: OOC
Putting out a heads-up early. I'm taking a road trip vacation with my daughter across the US from 14-25 June. I will have my phone and may read things but don't expect to make any real updates until I return. I'll gladly respond to any updates for the next week before I go.

Re: OOC
That’s awesome!!
Re: OOC
We culminated yesterday by reaching Mount Rushmore and are now wending our way back home.
I have a much keener appreciation for what 200 miles of undeveloped land looks like. I never properly could have conceptualized it before.
There's about one week left before I am home and begin Chapter 2 here. Please RP with each other to finalize any interactions here. I still need commitment from Báleygr and Talina. I am not taking NPcs forward (unless they convert to PCs).

Re: OOC
Hey all - I'm back and getting things in order once more.
Looks like we're moving to Chapter two with Hansel, Taavi, Emile, and Shadrach as deputized marshals. I see Shadrach advancing to level 2 - I need that from the other three of you.
Talina will not go on this high risk junket and remain in town (RL time commitments are superseding) as will Amalia (assumed the same) and Báleygr. Lira and Faraday's players have been absent for two months - hoping they're well. I'm glad to have anyone back in Chapter 3 or beyond.
I will try to post the Chapter 2 kick-off by Tuesday.

Re: OOC
Hansel has done this as well. Bumped XP, HP, new focus (diplomat), and bumped shoot and talk skills. Unless I've missed something, Hansel should be ready to ride out.

Re: OOC
Báleygr Gangleri is looking for the judge, for a ride, but doesn't see her in the street, or know where she is otherwise. Once he sees someone, he will approach them - but not the town mob.

Re: OOC
OOC you know where the judge is, so I think you just need to narrate looking for him in the boarding house if you want to continue.

Re: OOC
Báleygr knows IC (here) where the Judge is because Taavi openly announced they were going to Anica's boarding house for breakfast. He was invited.
The mob dissipated several posts ago. There's a couple guys with guns standing guard on the porch of the sheriff's office and there's a bucket brigade of citizens dealing with the flaming church. The street is empty except for the Sheriff's corpse.
My preference is that you back-date Báleygr's entry into the breakfast scene so he is aware of the conversations that just occurred. (It isn't necessary to repeat all facts/dialog for his late arrival.)

When I posted this twelve days ago, I intended for the impetus to be on you. Báleygr has avoided interaction with the other PCs to this point -- he needs to follow them to breakfast, introduce himself to Taavi and the Judge, and express why he wants to be deputized as a Marshall to take risk in the Badlands and will be an asset in hunting the cult and their tech. I have no issue with you playing out that IC scene with the other PCs and continuing to Chapter 2, but you need the IC tie in and buy-in.Marullus wrote: ↑Thu Jun 17, 2021 2:40 amIf you want to seek out the judge or lawyer you can join the breakfast scene and get an offer to be a Marshall from Taavi. If you want to hitch a ride to Windfall, I will allow that and we will fade to black on Báleygr. If the group ends up going to Windfall in a later chapter, we can reintroduce him.

Re: OOC
Ironically, I haven't taken that yet for Shadrach- his cybernetics give him a pretty high hit chance, and the rifle does a good bit of damage already. I'd get an extra rank of Shoot and +2 damage, but I think some of the other might be better.
Torn between taking one that lets me have a level-1 spell (Lesser Shadow Ward), Shadow Companion-2 (which lets Grim have some interesting abilities), or Alert (which gives me Notice and improves initiative).

Re: OOC
I was really torn as well. Really wanted Alert, along with several others.
Re: OOC
My power is out this afternoon and I need to shut my laptop down. I'll be camping without any wireless access tomorrow through Monday. Go ahead and finalize all level 2 upgrades (remember to post what you did in Character Creation, then update the sheets on Character Sheets) and I'll kick off the new Chapter when I'm back on Tuesday...
Re: OOC
Hey all!
I took a look at the character sheets thread.

I took a look at the character sheets thread.
Needs update:
- Báleygr Gangleri
- Shadrach (partially completed: check level, XP, hp)
- Emile Khadaji (partially completed: check level, XP, Sunblade Effort to 2/2)
- Taavi Perttu (partially completed: check skills... you have terminal reflection but not Precognition? Also, your level 2 Psychic Training taken at second level gives +2 points towards your Telepathy and allows it to be raised to Telepathy-2 above the normal cap.)
- Hansel Shatner
Re: OOC
Uh oh, I messed up. I edited my char sheet during lunch at work without getting a screenshot first. And my changes were written on post-it, which is long gone.
I'll see if I can recreate Level 1 Taavi from memory. Then list proposed leveling up changes.

Re: OOC
I just want to take a moment to say that diversion was fantastic, and one of my favorite scenes. None of you have Lead, you all played it well, and with three action heroes (two with Diplomat feat) put the fumbling lawyer in charge.
...Now go fix Taavi's sheet.
