Reven Stiilpahth leaves the crew quarters in search of the Captain. Upon finding her cleaning he pipes up, "I could've done that for you. Just heard the alert about a hacking attempt. I don't have any skills in that area. And I was just wondering if it's possible to review the Queens movement patterns. That may give some insight into the goings on."

Indrani pushes a strand of hair out of her face with the back of her gloved hand. "You've been working hard today, yourself. Go ahead with your research."

Reven Stiilpahth Thanks, Cap. Reven heads to a ship terminal. Queen, i'd like to review your movement patterns for the Captain. We're tying to piece together what activities you were used for, and the locations may provide the clues we need."

Please roll 3d6 - and take the best 2d6 combination from that (Boon for having been aboard for much of the period) - against Astrogation(+2)/END(+0).
Your computer skills aren't great, but are adequate for this. This is a trawl through Astrogation data rather than an investigation (given your lack of investigative skill). This is more of an endurance test than one of cleverness. And you are doing this alone with no team support so no bonuses there.

Pranit gets presented with the bill for the Spaceman's Promise - Cr 120 including drinks and food - excluding tip.

Could I have an Art(Performance)/DEX roll - Pranit +0/+3; Nalani-3/+2 - for the effect your dancing efforts have on the general scene.

p.s. What stuff are you each taking with you to the dance venue?

Pranit hands her another 75 credits, doubling her earlier tip and covering the other 70 owed from the earlier 50.

Pranit qould only have about 50 credits in script, his hand computer, a combo mask and a pair of handcuffs.

He rolls decently for dance.

Dance[2d6+3] = 9+3 = 12

In her Belter accent Nālani comments: Best way to learn, no flailing limbs and jerking about like a Well-Dweller.

Resuming her precise Anglic, with a note of self-mockery: And where shall I drag my gallant escort? A Belter place, or somewhere smart?

You spend half the night trawling vectors and ports of call. Several things stand out -
1) While the Queen ran courier business, she took more trips to Sulphur and Sapphire than a belt ship with lousy rad protection should really do (but that was one of the factors that lost the Queen the PLDES contract - risky courses, long travel times - and the fact that you all spent days in the safe as the best rad shelter); and the last trip in system stopped at Sulphur too.
2) There were more course alterations within 50,000km of asteroid C9633-0128-266 than could be called random - and it's a nothing asteroid. One Nav beacon and automated RADAR station. Not even a manned maintenance station.
3) The ports of call were everywhere. Every planet was visited at some point. As were all the major belt bodies. PLDES messages went everywhere - but he kept the pattern up as a Tramp too.

Belter then, but upmarket, not docks. Somewhere I am dressed for.

Her outfit isn't really designed for dancing, practically or aesthetically, and she is a little too sober to overcome it's restrictions entirely.

Dancing Dice: [2d6] = 6

She is also a little distracted by a text exchange on her comm. After a couple of messages she sends one to Reven: Jinja has been shot at the Port Authority. He is in hospital. Assana wanted you to know. We might need to hide her and Archana on the Queen.

Nālani has a Diplo Vest, her comm, HUD, Stunner and Cr100 in cash.

Nālani sends a message to Reven: Jinja has been shot at the Port Authority. He is in hospital. Assana wanted you to know. We might need to hide her and Archana on the Queen.
Reven Stiilpahth Types the info up, including the message from Nālani, and sends it to Indrani and Pranit. Then he enters his quarters and collapses on the bunk, rubbing his head. He starts to slow his breathing, taking slow, deliberate breaths and falls asleep sideways on the bed.

Pranit and Nalani
The Club is wild and chic. The music is Belt Beat - the locals from the administrative classes, but as it's Tuesday, not so busy about 30 in a space good for 300. A mix of local businesses, trade, planetoid administration and Belt Government flunky all letting their hair down. A birthday party from an office; local singles on the pull; a couple of women commiserating with their friend after a break up; merchant junior officers - even one other pilot (Nalani recongnises him from the Pilots Guild). The bar staff are just two people and they aren't overwhelmed. Jodie and Carl. Carl doesn't look old enough to work a bar. Jodie looks a bit out of place - clearly born in one of the rougher districts of somewhere else as the tats are in what might be Yoruba but she's Hindu to look at. But Belter Tall, and Svelte.

Upstairs is a Karaoke suite, and a couple of card tables. The main floor is overlooked by a balcony of VIP tables - but these are quiet too.

Jodie asks what you are having. No dancin' out there while I'm workin' and twirls behind the bar.

Both. Nālani grins, A drink first, to loosen up, then dancing.

Laughing: Dance all you like back there, just don't spill the drinks.

So where did you get the look - It suits you?

Ah! Strawberries, yes, please, that would be delightful. Let me buy you into this round, as a thank you. Nālani slides a couple of notes over the bar.

This? Nālani looks down at herself It is very conservative, for me. Something my father would have liked. Well, the clothes anyway. We were at another venue, before this. * a small laugh * You should see me when I know I will go clubbing!

Yes, one is probably enough. We have another full day ahead of us, after all.

This is something like home to me, when I am tethered to a rock.
