Re: OCC Thread
Hey all, we're waiting on ChubbyPixie's response to the PM I sent. Hoping Chub logs in within the next couple of days to tell me how Oz responds, now that Gary Con is over, but I'm guessing it could take a few more days than that...
Gotta get to GC one of these days...

What's this about adult beverages? I need a vacation, sounds good!
Chub, you still recovering? Probly just as well, been a busy week here, and now it's the kids spring vacation...

Re: OCC Thread
not to rush... (but adult beverages and Friday afternoon together makes me want to rush for some reason)... what are we waiting on? I just want to make sure you arent waiting on Malone to step out of his self-preservationalist shell and volunteer for anything at the moment...

Re: OCC Thread
Nope, not waiting on Malone.
Oz's player got a very specific PM that I would prefer not to have to NPC a reaction to. I think if Chub hasn't responded by Sunday night, however, I may push ahead. Just bad timing is all, with Chub having been away at Gary Con...
Thanks for your patience everyone!

Re: OCC Thread
Oh crap. Sorry guys. Had a great time at GaryCon (more on that later), then returned to double work. It seems I can't take a vacation without being punished for it… yarg.
I haven't even looked at what happened yet (I will after typing this) but in the future, if I'm holding things up, please feel free to NPC me DM. I won't complain even if it results in my demise... (
). It's just that my job is the kind where some weeks are no big deal, then others go by and I wonder what the @#$% just happened. This probably sounds familiar to you all.
Now I'll go check the thread to see if I did die...

No worries, Chubby. I'd normally have NPCed you, but this seemed like an important moment for you to be able to play through. Just a timing thing!

Re: OCC Thread
Hi guys, sorry, real life again. Can't really go into it other than to say it's a personal matter that's ongoing and could keep cropping up. If anyone wants to take the DMing reins at some point in the future to keep this going without so much stuttering, I'm willing to relinquish. Otherwise I'll keep going but I can't say that these delays on my side won't continue to happen...
Let me know what your honest thoughts are, if any.

Sorry OnlyMe, this has gotten confusing I'm afraid, due to the delays in posting if nothing else. Basically, Chubby and I had been going back and forth with PMs due to the fact that only Ozborn can see what's inside the room. I've only been posting what you all can hear in the main thread. And then, again, real life has hit a couple times now. Anyway, Malone hanging back and waiting for a signal makes total sense under the circumstances...Guys, I am totally confused by what is happening. I missed a sentence or something, but can't seem to follow the dialog.
I am assuming Malone is hanging back with halberd in hand waiting for some signal, sign, something... I dont think he would have picked up on anything happening inside the doorway so far. Please let me know if that is not accurate. thanks
Re: OCC Thread
No worries at all. In fact, it is my work schedule that has me skimming posts instead of being able to fully digest them that has most to do with it.

Yep yep, I hear you Onlyme!
Other thoughts anyone? Things have settled here, and (gasp!) I'm actually able to post an update already today!
EDIT: Not your fault Chubby! Just life as we know it...

Re: OCC Thread
Tardy GaryCon report.
Hey, guys. I wrote out this report, then forgot to post it for you. My experience at GaryCon. I was only able to attend Saturday and Sunday, but I had some fun.
Ernie Gygax's Hobby Shop Dungeon was a great time. I played a 5th level Dwarf Fighter in a party of 9 including a Druid, a Cleric, a Paladin, an Ex-Paladin (because he chose to fight with a chaotic, life draining sword), two Thieves (one halfling, one human), a Magic-User (elf), and a human Ranger. Due to a scheduling error involving an overlap with the auction it got cut an hour short, but in that time we managed to disembowel two giant geckos and three minor devils (male, female and cross-dressing - these we defeated with sneezing powder when they poly morphed into mosquitos), and be attacked by but ultimately escape a Xorn. We didn't escape the dungeon, which was the goal, but we got some nice treasure. My character got a magical throwing hammer from the Devils loot (schweet!). Technically, I guess we lost as a party - it was run on a point system and we lost 10,000 when the MU used her Wish to restore us all to full health after the devils fried us with a Wall of Fire. ( she had been saving it to restore her youth.) But Ernie was great fun as a DM - super nice guy. He said we basically broke even with our kills and treasure.
Earlier I jumped into a game of Fight in the Skies that was supposed to be run by Mike Carr, though he was not in evidence. Still, it was great fun. Imagine a way more complicated game of Star Wars X Wing. Then make it slightly more complicated and you're done.
The only other game I got into was a Pathfinder game, a kind of arena battle. I had an ok time (beer helped) but let me tell you, THIS IS NOT THE SYSTEM FOR ME. I'll stick with 1e, thanks. Makes my head hurt way less. I've never seen so many obscure and contradictory rules all jumbled together in one place before. No one could agree on any interpretation. It was "cray-cray." Then one player got frustrated with me because I teamed up with another player to beat the hell out of his Gnome. Oops.
Overall it was very enjoyable. I'll go next year again for sure. I recommend it to you.
