Delgath checks his spell pouches; reassured that nothing is amiss he nods at his companions and waits for the people in front to move out.

Day 1– In the complex -

.

Eyes and ears peeled, none of you note anything as you approach the door. As Phanstern's lantern comes into play, the door is partially burnt, as the others you've seen, though there is a difference. There are some relatively new(er) boards nailed haphazardly on the door as if to shore it up somewhat. It's pretty much the only signs of "fixing" you've seen thus far. Besides maybe the trap you saw upon entering.

There's nothing immediately apparent about the hallway or door other than mentioned. Nothing is heard in this area at all, except your whispers to each other.

I'm assuming that you stop, in MO, right before the door. Elwita and Freda have the best look of it. Ogre, Blodgett and Eljayess can also crowd up to get a look. Unless you do the marching order shuffle to rearrange folks, or you can even go further down the hallway as well.

Updating the map.

HPs: Elwita - 41/54; Ogre - 20/45; Delgath - 25/25; Karraway - 31/42; Blodgett - 25/25 ; Freda - 40/40; Phanstern - 25/25; Eljayess - 25/25; Kayen - 25/25
WIH: Elwita: war hammer, shield; Ogre: Long sword (20' radius light), shield; Delgath: Staff; Karraway: mace, shield; Blodgett: short sword; Freda: long sword, shield; Phanstern: dagger, lantern; Eljayess: Spear, shield; Kayen: long sword, shield
MO: Elwita, Freda, Ogre, Blodgett, Eljayess, Phanstern, Delgath, Kayen, Karraway
Consumables: Bullseye Lantern (Phanstern) - (2 hours, 40 minutes) 80' radius, 10' wide beam; Torch (none lit, 60 minutes), 40' radius.
--------Spells: Delgath 1-4/4, 2-2/2, 3-1/1: Karraway: 1-5/5, 2-5/5, 3-2/2: Phanstern: 1-4/4, 2-2/2, 3-1/1; Eljayess: 1-3/4, 2-3/3; Kayen: 1-3/3, 2-2/2
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

With the memory of the trap door still fresh in her mind, Elwita motions for Blodgett to come forward and inspect this newest door for any sign of a trap.

Once deemed safe and Blodgett is able to fall back into his place in the marching order, Elwita will carefully open the door.

After examining the door, Blodgett turns and whispers "It's not trapped or locked. I'm going to open it." With that, he carefully opens the door.

Elwita hopes for the best, but prepares for the worst as Blodgett opens the door before them.

Day 1– In the complex -

With that Blodgett is back to the front of the MO.

By the irregular light of Phanstern's lantern (only irregular because he is not up front) the folks at the door can see that the room is about 15' deep. It's northern wall ends flush with the northern ending of the hallway you are in. It is looks 20' wide. As you feel is normal for the complex this room is burnt and partially destroyed, much like others throughout the temple. The floor is crowded with debris and it looks like movement would be difficult. Looking up the ceiling is sagging and collapsed, but it still appears to be sound. No gaps or hidden places up there as far as you can tell. Other than that it's quiet and looks to be empty.

"I'll wager two of my good arrows this room is full of trouble..." mumbles Freda as she gets a peek into the room filled with debris and rubble.

"Hey," she whispers after a moment's thought, "I thought we were supposed to be sneaking into an active camp. So far, all we've found is burnt out ruins and meeping ghouls."

"Aye. Yet, I reckon is better to chance a seemingly empty room than return to face those ghouls again."

Elwita, gazes upon the easternmost wall, slightly tilting her head to the side in more serious contemplation.

"Passage may not be easy, but I say we press on. Besides, I suspect there's something unusual about the far wall and I'd like a closer look."

Elwita begins to cautiously make her way into the room, heading towards the eastern wall for further inspection.

Day 1– In the complex -

Elwita enters, does anyone follow?

The room is 15' deep, by 20' wide. There are no other apparent exits from the room other than the repaired door that Elwita entered. That eastern wall is different. As others crowd toward the entrance and the lantern is brought to bear, you see that the wall has been repaired and plastered in spots. It seems, from looking at it, pretty stoutly built.

Freda enters, as well, shield braced and sword drawn. She remains wary of the pile of rubble and trash, but wants to provide backup for Elwita.

Phanstern asks "could someone hold my lantern for a minute?" If obliged, Phanstern then begins checking the North end of the corridor and the West wall of the corridor for secret doors or openings. He looks for thin seams, bits that move, slight signs of disturbance in the dirt on the floor, or anything else that seems indicative. He'll also occasionally spit on his finger and let it drip to see if it does or doesn't fall straight to the floor.

Delgath turns to Phanstern and takes possession of the lantern. He holds it up so that it shines on the area that Phanstern is searching.

Freda sees Ogre pushing on like a trooper and moves over to his side.

Ogre turns smiles and winks at Freda

I always knew you were sweet on me.

His focus then switches back to the room with a grim expression.

Day 1– In the complex - 1:01am

Weird how time flies, you've been inside the slavers temple about 2.5 hours.

Elwita enters the room, with Freda and Ogre following. The glow of Ogre's sword adding light to the dark areas that the lantern, outside the door, can't expose. Freda and Ogre fan out, but Elwita heads straight to the wall, as if transfixed, concentrating on it. There aren't piles of rubbish in this room per se, as much as there's a couple inches of burned and splintered debris layering the whole floor. But the area closest to the eastern wall is a bit cleaner. The wall has obviously been worked on and Elwita is checking out that work while Ogre and Freda keep a watchful eye.

Phanstern hands off his lantern to the Dred one, who is near the door, to inspect the northern end of the hallway. All his attempts do not bear fruit though. The dead end seems just that. Eljayess watches the hallway near the exit, while the others wait to see what might happen.

The close up map in the map thread has been updated.
