Re: Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp
The cell door proves to be stubborn. Egon is unable to unlock it or force it open.

With all this forcing of doors, Kravoud sets a watch at the most obvious egress point and attempts to listen for any approaching steps or other noises so that the party is not surprised while up to their mischief.

Naught but the sound of silence from the other end of the door into the next room.BaltoBruiser wrote: ↑Mon Jun 02, 2025 12:23 pm kravoud

The combined efforts finally get the cell door open within which lies a skeleton with a shiny thing in it's hands, the skeleton does not move but the door makes a straining sound as it is forced open.

Re: Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp
The skeleton does not move, its long, bony fingers clutch an antique medallion. This medallion sports the sigil of the Cult of the Black Earth. Forgotten Realms cult: The Cult of the Black Earth was a cult devoted to Ogrémoch and one of the four cults responsible for the Elemental Evil crisis. there is nothing else in the cell outside of the same items all the other cells contain.

Anyone with an understanding of history ancient or otherwise would know it would hold value to the right type of collector or historian.

It seems like there is an exit heading West, right? I don't clearly see it in the map, but the description seems to indicate that:

Re: Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp
Sorry DM tabu I meant to hide that but no nobody has entered that cell and searched.
No traps are detected and no sound is heard same as when kravoud checked.

Reywald keeps watch, his sling ready.
He will volunteer to search any walls pointed put by the party as suspicious but is mostly just keeping an eye out for danger.
He also has Ancient History and Ancient Languages if it becomes relevant

Re: Chapter 8 - Into the Swamp
DM liberties taken. Egon moves to Cell A and unlocks it. Reywald searches the walls of the cell and finds a secret compartment behind one of the wall stones and moves it aside to find a leather scrollcase.
