Dzofin

Dzofin's grenade bursts against and blows through what he now understands to be a foldable partition wall for a "party room". There are human cries of pain and alarm from the other side and then a whole mag's worth of autopistol rounds are fired through the newly blasted hole. Curses and fumbling follow the cessation of fire. On approach he can hear an entirely unmilitary and very animated debate over "What to do next...".

"If its Executive Outcomes... that's just...".

"Not for us - we're non executive!"

"Yeah, fek you!" (This is accompanied by a Collace derisory noise).

Howling, Dzofin bursts dramatically through the hole in the screen and fires a couple rounds into the ceiling (or at anybody threatening him with a weapon). "Surrender now or I will eat your livers humans! I am Dzenae Ungogz of the Kforuzeng!" He is showing teeth and his tail is held high in a dominant position not that the Pinkies would recognize a proper leader. "Face down on the floor now!"

Kit finds he can't immediately access the Security Computer but a sawn off shotgun is applied to the security man's ear and he coughs up a pass key and access code.

First Squad secure the corridor junction as Frank comes up with his escort and their trailing "entourage".

Sword still held casually on his shoulder Ragnar ambles casually northwards "Where do they keep their valuables and the good looking women? We'll look up here...". The "bodyguard" move north when a bobbed head at the corridor junction in the next quadrant telegraphs enemy presence. Three or four security men and an 1188th trooper move out and light up the corridor. Hard rounds ricochet and a las beam pierces the rising cloud of airborne debris. "Shieldwall!" having both given the command Haraldr Sigurðarson and Ragnar Lothbrok glare at each other. Nevertheless they instantly crouch and lock shields with Freydís Eiríksdóttir. Hard rounds and a las bolt deflect off the ceramite face of their defence. Behind them Eiríkr Haraldsson is slower to react and, taking a full burst to the chest, collapses to his knees. The enemy pour fire on from what must be a belt fed support weapon as Haraldr Sigurðarson raises his voice above the din to recite:
"Up into the overturned keel.
Clamber, with a heart of steel.
Cold is the ocean's spray.
When your death is on its way.
With maidens you have had your way.
Each must die some day!"

Ragnar risks a look around his shield and calls "Freydís til vinstri!" Her arm blurs and the axe thrown flat smashes through a SuSAG man's ballistic face shield, removes most of his head and embeds itself in the corridor wall.

Eiríkr Haraldsson gets to his feet and roars incohate primordial rage... and in the process seems to exude spent hard rounds. The torrent of fire slackens and Ragnar calls "Já, núna!" the proto Swordies rise as one and charge. They are preternaturally fast but not as fast as Eiríkr Haraldsson. With a deep deafening roar he is through his comrades in one great bound, landing to scramble forward on both hands and feet he seems to fill the corridor. The view is obstructed by the charging shieldwall but it seems he swats a SuSAG man and the blow is powerful enough to drive his victim's broken body partially through the window into BRIEFING. Haraldr Sigurðarson takes a security man's arm off with his broadsword and then runs him through. As they clear the junction the proto Swordies are lost to view. Screams and gunshots briefly continue then suddenly cease.

The top half of the 1188th trooper flies back around the corner to land, in equal measure, bloodily, messily and lifelessly.

A rather portly female Exec demands "Shoot the pirate!"

In response a SuSAG Security man throws his hands in the air "Sod that for a game o' soldiers! 'Ere, Vargr, eat 'er first - she's fattest!"

Everyone else in the room (~20 to 30 humans) appears to be either a civilian employee, a cluster of attractive and predominantly blonde young women wearing not quite enough clothing or a wounded combatant (there are a few stretcher cases but the majority "walking wounded" have no fight in them).

Across the room to his left he sees movement through the shrubs in the planter then a Security man falls to two near simultaneous bursts of SnubSMG fire. A pair of Klaus' assault specialists move into the junction to his right. A terrified SuSAG Exec nearly cannons into the pair as he sprints from the west he gibbers hysterically "Help me! There's some sort of beast - it got into the barracks! The Proto Swordies are loose too - I closed the blast doors!" Sven Nilsson considers the Exec for half a second and then drops him with a right cross.

To Dzofin's right a thoroughly disappointed Beau sheathes his cutlass as Rifleman George and Specialist Love herd prisoners before them at ACR and (pump) sawn off point (Love has stowed her PGMP 12).

The prisoners are deposited in the open plan DINING AREA/LOUNGE.

Organised resistance seems to have ceased from the Rond garrison.

Freya reports that the (previously troublesome) cargo 'bots seem to have had a change of powerplant sides and have removed most of the charges from Bridge and Engineering and "spaced them". If any remain they will be in areas not yet tactically "swept" by SEMC but these will no longer pose a significant threat to either the structure or function of the base.

This means that any Facility wide threat is now entirely diminished and the local threat can be dealt with and isolated by closing the inter quadrant hatches (now under Freya's control).

I assume that by 'rogue elements' Kit means the swordies as I thought everyone else was taken care of (although I could easily be mistaken)

I did mean the Swordies, but given that I think of it as a derogatory term and some members of our unit are from that area of space I was trying to avoid it.

Dzofin nods briefly in acknowledgment to the surrender of the security officer and heads straight for the female executive. He gets in her face and growls showing teeth while he pokes her in the belly. "You are a nice plump one. I am sure you have a good liver and probably kidneys for the eating." Dzofin holds his head up and sniffs. He is trying to scent the smell of corruption and pheromones he picked up earlier. "Now who is going to tell me where Deputy Director Keening is hiding?" He patted one of his pouches. "I brought plenty of hot curry to go with fresh livers!"

Frank will stick with Ragnar and the other swordies.

Frank moves north from SECURITY and follows the "Proto Swordies". He notes that the glass wall to BRIEFING on his left has been punctured by the broken body of a SuSAG security man. The body now hangs suspended in that bloody glazed breach. In the junction the top half of a 1188th trooper lies looking like it was neither cut nor blasted but instead torn in half. He muses that the SuSAG prefix "Proto" must be significant. However, arguably, any nomenclature that identifies their now abundantly apparent lethality would surely serve.

Turning right at the junction Frank sees a door folded in half and pushed back off its hinges. The interior was once a shower block but most of the partitions are shattered and water streams everywhere from shattered plumbing. There are very dead bodies. A SuSAG Security man slumps vertically held up by the bayonet of the ACR pinning him to the wall. At the door to the barracks Frank sees he can gain no access. A fighting line of Ragnar, Harald and Freydis are effortlessly holding the door against desperate scrum of Security men who are apparently fighting to get out. From the sound of it something like a wrecking ball equipped with frightening level of agility is fighting everyone else in the barracks.

Frank tries a flanking move up to the next junction. He takes a glimpse south in time to see the barracks door buckle outwards in its frame with the definite imprint of a head and shoulders left in the door.

The Security man then immediately volunteers "Keening's gone ruddy Radio Rentals an' bolted up into the "perv palaces". He indicates the eastern northern corridor (above Perna's Green line of advance on the tac map).

He adds "You lot comin' in as done 'em all up! Keening took off with the last of 'is 1188th boys an' few of the Security - them wiv screws loose. The one's 'oo enjoy it too much - you know? Oh an' some bird they 'ad prisoner. They've all gone rahnd the ruddy twist! Keening was with Administrative Assistant (Human Resource) Manager [Corporate] Ms Viki Skint". With "Collace confidentiality" he confides "Now, I thought she was 'is main squeeze on the grounds of 'em both bein' fekkin' 'orrible people but then she snapped an' all! Went completely Cadbury's! Kept chantin'... a name... The same name... over an' over - an' she wouldn't stop... "UrvashGudrunUrvashGudrunUrvashGudrun" - just like that. I think 'e's killed 'er over it!"

Frank seems sure the voice comes from one of the staterooms opposite the ARBORETUM. He slips into the southern corridor to optimize his cover using the corner.

"Sergeant Harrod, sir. B Company, 1188th. I've got MacPherson with me but 'e's in a terrible state... The young girl got 'old of 'im - didn't kill the poor sod though... I think she done 'im up like that just to slow us down. If you could see your way to takin' 'im as a prisoner that'd be a favour, sir... though I realize I'm in no position to ask. The rest of us... well, we know we went all in on the wrong 'and - but you play the cards you're dealt". He gives an ironic chuckle "That 'ole card can really let you down, eh?"

Sergeant Harrod replies "All that's left of B Company, sir. Sergeant Rothmann, Corporal Silkutt, Lance Corporal Players, Troopers Dunhill, Benson and Hedges, Medical Corporal Woodbine is to be considered a combatant at his own request, sir".

(OOC: Steady long service professionals not in Colonel Kurz or Sgt Turner's "inner circle". Frank recognizes a few other names from his service history. He reasons that inevitable "Darwinian battlefield selection" or just the inherent "luck of the Devil" will have made this remnant of the 1188th into men very capable of "dying hard").
