Edel

"That orc was a source of valuable information..." - Edel started to protest, but his voice stopped short - "Are you... Blodgett? You are still alive... Well if you want to help, there is a nasty fight going on just over there as you can see. Your daggers would be welcome"

I had pointed out I wanted to remain in sight of the fight, so it should be visible from where we are, correct?

Yes, I am fine with Edel being 30'ft into the passage and Blodgett being around the curve part about 60'ft in.

Mortar tries his hand in martial combat once again, having a little better luck hitting the weasel with his dagger this time.

Tunnels: beyond the Aspis Cave.

The fight continues: the two adult and the juvenile weasels continue their savage biting attacks. The one still fang deep into Olleg's neck and shoulder mauls him further, -11hp. He continues to bleed and struggle to render himself free.

Giant Weasels attack: bite damage vs Olleg [2d6]=11

The party attack themselves before the other two strike and Brick & Mortar combine to slay the juvenile predator, -11hp & -2hp.

Elwita & Rogger fend off the other, the cleric hitting the Giant Weasel, -5hp.

Durrant turns his hands into a weapon, touching the weasel that bites Olleg and invoking a Shocking Grasp that spasms the creature, -10hp

Shocking Grasp: [1d8+3]=7+3=10

The attack inflicts more than half its health in electrical damage and taking that much causes the creature to whelp in pain, releasing the dwarf from its grasp.

Galadria adds a further injury, -1hp and Vennar blesses the wounded Olleg +5hp.

Jacupo invokes a Spiritual Hammer wielded it by gestures of his hand to strike but miss the furry fiend.

Edel is halfway up the side passage, seeing glimpses of the back and forth of the combat. He addresses the Halfling assassin, realising this is one of the Icon heroes who entered the Temple complex a few days before.

His protest to keep Chagg alive is futile, the act already done. The Icon gestures a little further up the passage.

"There is a way up into a crypt. It may be safer there, these tunnels bleed Orcs and others have stirred the hornets nest."

Listening to the mage and conflict at the passage junction, he nods, going that way to check out the situation for himself.

"Go up, I will try and help delay things here." he says.

The three sleeping Orcs snooze, those still held in bondage to the divine command remain frozen in place. But behind them, flashes of cine light lantern light dances on the wall as reinforcements seem to head that way.

Olleg, Dwarf, 8/33

Dripping blood from the weasel's vicious attack, Olleg lunges at the beast, taking advantage of the opening created by Durrant's spell.

"Thank you, but not just yet" - Edel replies, following the halfling back toward the others - "Need to make sure the others are well"

On the one hand, Edel wants to keep an eye on this halfling, but also is he able to cast a Web spell behind the held orcs, to seal off the tunnel?

Yes you can cast this spell.
Thanks Straither - then, while also keeping an eye on the halfling:

Edel raised his hand, muttering arcane syllables as he crushed a brittle, empty spider cocoon between his fingers; thick, silvery strands erupted between floor and ceiling, fanning out in layers to seal the tunnel in a web of glistening tension.

Mortar takes the open opportunity to step away from the melee combatants, heading the way Edel just came from.

If he notices the halfling there, he will move to initiate conversation, guessing the stranger may be one of the folks they are looking for in here.

Tunnels: beyond the Aspis Cave.

Warriors combine to get bloody revenge on the Giant Weasel, impaling it and then cleaving it in half with strikes from Olleg & Brick.

Elwita & Galadria add more injuries to the last which severely wounded and bereft of all its companions, turns tail to leap away, shrieking in pain and fleeing for its life.

Vennar blesses Olleg +6hp .

Durrant, Jacupo & Rogger can each take out one of those sleeping guards. A merciless slaying but necessary given the danger they might pose should they awake.

Edel invokes a web spell, spinning threads to close the passage and binding those guards still held in more sticky bonds.

Mortar reaches Blodgett the Halfling icon acknowledging the group as reserves from the spy sloop.

"We should flee this place before we are overrun." Blodgett says, pointing to the north and south ends of the passage you travelled up. "You will only end up enslaved that way" he says gesturing north, "Insect-men down there. A faction of well armed territorial creatures" He says, though you know these facts already.

He gestures again behind him, in the passage where the slain Chagg lies.

"This way is the only hope "

Mortar takes a second to speak with the Halfling while the others catch up.

"Then you are Blodgett, I presume? We were kinda looking for you and your friends in here."

"We struck a deal for passage with the Aspis creatures, if that should change your mind."

"What can you tell us about this path you suggest? The ladder leading up has been broken off, you understand. Why do you suggest we head that way?"

"Do you know where the others you came here with are currently?"

"I am called Mortar, and this motley crew you see before you were sent in here to finish what you started. Savvy?"

Brick

Brick cleans his blood smeared sword and looks around for Mortar. "Where did the Mortar run off to now?"

Edel

Not sure if there is a 'coup de grace' option in AD&D, or if we can just kill the sleeping/held opponents.
If it can be done safely (other orcs are sleeping/held, the weasel is nowhere to be seen, no shots are coming from beyond the web), Edel will want to finish off the sergeant and search him.
