ANNOUNCEMENT -- PLAYER CONFLICT!!!

#1 Post by Magnus »

I am really at a loss with this group. I've never seen anything like it.

To be honest, it is starting to cut into my fun, not to mention my time for the game. For the good of the group (particularly those players who have not been a party to OOC conflict) and my own enjoyment, I need to draw a firm line.

Please read the below, particularly 2, 4, and 5.

As such:

1. I am going to let this last set of episodes blow over and give everyone a clean slate.

2. Next time discussion turns overly dramatic, I am going to trim down the group, likely by at least two people.

*ETA the underlined language

3. If anyone thinks that we should trim the group NOW (even by one), PM me.

4. Hopefully, everyone realizes the best thing to do is to be neither a spark nor gasoline when it comes to touchy subjects, and to try and lower the temperature of a discussion. Also, think about when arguing is going to prevent the group from making a SERIOUS mistake, versus when you are simply putting an idea forward that is only a marginal/moderate improvement over another proposed course of action.

5. "Tactical" discussions (e.g., disarm the trap or not, summon elemental or not, round-by-round combat decisions, alignment-fueled discussions) must be done in-character. Yes, this makes the game more challenging. I still will allow strategy or high-level tactics to be discussed OOC.

*ETA the underlined language

*The group is doing better. Players are encouraged to remain IC, but quick decision points may be resolved OOC to move things along. All such posts should be in the game thread.

6. One BIG problem with this group is the perception that certain players are trying to dominate. I don't care if this perception is true or not. But make a conscious effort to give everyone a turn to implement their ideas, unless you truly believe that they will lead to disaster.

7. I am not interested in DMing PvP fights.

8. Don't PM other players unless you are 100% sure that player wants a PM. Any player who PM's another and draws a complaint from the recipient is out.

9. The OOC thread is an important part of the game. All players need to read it if they are going to participate.
