One Short Of A Baker's Dozen
Changing Of The Guard
Early Afternoon, Warm Clear

Outside

Gyb watches as the body of the unconscious Meinhardt is roughly carried away by the fleeing Skeletons while he makes his way back down to the lower level ledge in front of the slower Skeletons chasing him.

The red Priest takes the blow from Stobart in stride, but the blade of Bugs clearly sticks him where it hurts. With a look of pure hatred on his face, he holds his attack, pulling the hood of his red robes up over his head instead. As soon as he does this, he slowly starts to fade from view, not going invisible mind you, but......something else. "You maggots can cherish this little victory of yours, as I will remember you both and I promise my revenge will be far more painful."

Inside

Loyn rips apart a few more Skeletons at the cave mouth before finally falling to the remaining threats relentless and mindless attacks. 6 dam As the stubborn hero of the day drops to the cold stone unconscious, he morphs from the hideous beast he had been transformed into back to the cute, cuddly dwarf everyone knows and loves, a hint of stale dog biscuit remaining on his now labored breath.

One of the three remaining Skeletrons is brought down by the archers, leaving only a single monster remaining where a makeshift bone army once threatened to overrun the party.

In a defensive retreat, Daliedhur chases after Tammuz, who just entered the doorway where the fire trap exploded. The Mummy Cat pounces upon its target, biting the elf on the back of his leg hard enough to cause him a minor wound, 2 dam but isn't effective enough to stop him from getting through the door and slamming it shut behind them both. Inside the room, the ugly man in the plague mask is standing in the back corner between what looks like a pair of dead bodies chained to the wall. He is chanting and waving his arms, causing the pair of bodies to squirm and move, as if they are trying to free themselves from their chains. There are tables, shelves, and barrels lining this room, some of them also containing bodies. One particularly ghastly experiment has a pair of figures lying on tables with probes and wires sticking out from their heads, connecting them both to some horrible looking apparatus. Charging at the masked figure, Tammuz appears shocked when he recognizes these two bodies as people he has dealt with in the past.

Rushing back down the hallway filled with dead Gnolls and defeated monsters, Keya arrives inside the room with the frightening Mummy Cat just as the door is slammed shut. The Cat hisses wildly and appears about to leap upon its next victim for an attack. "WWRRRRRAAAARRRR!"

Loyn-Dwarf fighter

Loyn’s laying there unconscious, drifting in and out of dreams and nightmares, as if they’re on an eternal loop.

Ithrandir drops his bow and attacks with his sword.

Daliedhur

Just to confirm OGRE MAGE, I believe Cinder's HP are added to Daliedhur's as a familiar, correct?
So while Cinder is with me, my HPs are 8/13. Right?

Daliedhur will not spare a moment, and he immediately wades in on the masked man, trying to interrupt whatever he is trying to do - "Now Tammuz!"
He does keep a wary eye on the chained ones and those on the tables, to make sure they do not suddenly animate and catch him by surprise.

Longsword attack on the masked man [1d20+3]=9+3=12 Damage [1d8+3]=3+3=6

I think Protection from Evil is still in effect, for whatever that might be worth.

There's only one skeleton left. It's probably dead after Ithrandir's attack, but maybe not. You can make an attack to make sure it's no longer a threat.

Keya thought Tammuz was following due to the poison, but he was not there.

He turns around and runs, taking off his cloak.

Seeing the door closed and the MUMMY CAT! still wandering around.

He takes his cloak and holds it wide and closes in to wrap the cat in the cloak, trying to bind it within the folds.

One Short Of A Baker's Dozen
Changing Of The Guard
Early Afternoon, Warm Clear

Outside

Gyb moves to the trees again, staying in front of the Skeletons following behind him. When he gets there, he sees 6 more Skeletons on the level below his, currently carrying the unmoving body of Meinhardt towards the next cave. (K)

Bugs and Stobart try to stop the red Priest from getting away to no avail. When the Gnome leaps upon the fading figure, he passes right through him as if he were never even there, landing on the ground with a thud. By the time Stobart gets ready to dent his armor again with his staff, the man fades from view completely, momentarily leaving behind the faintest of pink outlines as he vanishes.

Renna suddenly finds herself able to move again, now that the magic binding her in place has run its course. She notices Crobeus and Pimlan lying unconscious on the ground.

Inside

Seeing the door shut and his friends missing, Keya finds a worse problem to deal with upon his return when the Mummy Cat growls as it leaps up to claw at the pius Ranger. Doubting he can do anything to hurt this monster with his mundane gear, Keya does the next best thing, pulling off his cloak to try to catch the tiny mummy before it bites him. Just in the nick of time, he is able to envelop the cat in mid air within his trusty cloak. The cat thrashes and growls, flying around violently inside its cloth prison, desperately trying to escape. This makes even hanging onto the cloak a tricky and dangerous proposal at the moment.

Inside the room, Daliedhur and Tammuz charge for the masked man, who suddenly doesn't seem nearly as injured as he was out in the hallway, likely due to the broken glass bottle at his feet that goes unnoticed. The man grabs the arm of Tammuz when he misses with his attack, causing the Flind to twist and shake violently. The pair of unfortunate undead attached to the wall by chains flail around violently as well, trying to kick at any threats who get too close to their master. Tammuz catches a boot to his head as the jolts run through him, causing him to drop to the ground still shaking.

When Daliedhur just misses injuring his target, the masked man then turns his attention to the Elf and his cat, hearing his own former familiar dealing with the threat outside in the hallway. He begins casting what must certainly be another spell while his opponent sizes up his next attack.

Without another injury, Magdal and Ithrandir are able to finish off the final Skeleton at the cave mouth, noticing the unconscious and badly injured Dwarf at their feet looking much more like himself all of the sudden.

Daliedhur

Just to be sure, I did not hit him? I would hit AC8 :P

"The deck is definitely stacked in your favor" - Daliedhur shook his head and chuckled as he saw Tammuz falling - "Guess all I can do now is try to flip the table" - he added, swinging his sword.

I want to try and avoid exposing myself to attacks by the masked man + his undead + the kitchen sink. If not possible then... Well, then it is not possible.

Longsword attack on the masked man [1d20+3]=1+3=4 Damage [1d8+3]=8+3=11

Sigh...

Keya gets a good hold on his cloak and starts frantically thrashing it around on the walls and floor, seeing if this will kill or injure it.

Thrash [1d20]=18

Ithrandir sheathes his sword, retrieves his bow, and gathers as many arrows as he can. He also grabs his torch and tries to staunch Gyb's wounds. "Hold on there. Your heroic intervention saved our lives. In a couple of days, over a few beers, you’ll tell us where that transformation came from. You’ll see."

"Heya Renna. Good to see you moving again. You did make a fine statue, though." He looks around and tries to figure out what's going on.

Is he able to spot Meinhardt's pallbearers? His action will depend on that. :D

They are 25 feet below you, so you can certainly see them from your elevated position.

Remember that it takes a round to descend these ledges.

Thanks!

Bugs

Bugs spots the procession and points. "Meinhardt is in trouble! I'll go delay them, come back me up when you get them up."

He will scamper down the rise, getting ready to do some dumb stuff.
