By the way, when we're outta here I have some spoilers that I'll drop for you ­— stuff that I thought I had sign-posted but could use your tips on how to make it more apparent for the next time that I run this.

We are rolling toward an end of this "module" I think.

If there's interest in a next module, would you be open to changing rule sets? I have a renewed interest in 2400 Legends, for which I recently promoted a new game in the same world as this one. If everyone likes the current rules, I like them too and will be glad to stick with them. If people are interested in trying something new, I have ideas about how to recast your current characters in the Legends paradigm without losing any of their coolth.

It was a fun adventure, thanks for running it.
I can work with any ruleset. Be it rules heavy or lite like the last one.
So whatever you like to do is fine by me. As for characters I can go both ways as well. Can we decide after you posted the ruleset and the premise for the next module?

I am quite ok with Elcroon's plan! There is so much of this module unexplored ... including the other two WAYS OUT. It is set up so that you can get a big loot haul fairly easily if you want to move on with funding for other adventures, or you can really delve into it if you're the more exploratory type of player. Or if you're the type of player who wants to have their own Dwarf Fortress™ to defend.

Getting salty with a ghost might be quite tricky given all the salt you're wearing. Porcupines come to mind.

One possible deficiency of 2400 Legends, from your perspective, would be the prosaic magic system.

Another thing we could do is keep your quirky spells from Ouroboros and just apply the mechanics from Legends.

In 2400 Legends, I would suggest that you take "Magical (transfiguration)" as one of Black Dog's two ancestral characteristics. Then she could shape shift without risk or penalty …

If it's okay with you I would like to reroll an entirely new character (Although I wouldn't mind gaining that lvl up we had and some gold to stay on par with the rest ).
I have a couple of different character concepts brewing, but I have a few questions about the system before I start making a background/character-sheet to present for approval.

After a quest, players gain a talent (from their class, or another if they have its skillset at d8), gain an incantation (with Wizardry or Theurgy), or raise a skillset (d6➡d8➡d10➡d12)
- Is incantation something different from taking the talent 'wizardry' or 'theurgy'?

- Can you take the ancestry 'magical' twice? Effectively taking up 2 spells.
- How does concentration work? Can you only concentrate on one spell at a time?
- The 'Animation' spell, what are the stats for an effigy? d6's across the board or something else? Same goes for corpses having fixed the stats or what they had in life?
- I saw repair referenced a few times, is that linked to the smith's tools?
- Do stats change or natural abilities change with 'transfiguration'?
- Can we make small changes to the gear if the result stays the same. Like using runes instead in place of a prayer book.

If some of the answers are: just try and find out. I am totally fine with that as well.

Wow! There's a lot of questions here, which is kind of intentional in the way the rules are written.

1. "Incantation" is another word for "Spell" from that list at the right column of page 3. If you have wizardry or theurgy you can learn spells.
2. Yes, you could take "magical" twice.
3. Yes, you can concentrate on only one spell at a time. And no basic spell is "permanent" ­— when you sleep, get konked, etc., your concentration is broken.
3a. But you can use Artifice (a wizard talent that I just invented) to bind a spell into an apparatus. This is how wizards make "permanent" animated servants.
4. An effigy is like an average person. Non-PCs don't have stats.
5. Smith's tools let you repair stuff that smith's tools can repair.
6. Strength and speed may change with transfiguration. I'll let you know. Natural abilities obv change: birds can fly, fish can swim but cant breathe air, etc.
7. Yes please be creative with the gear.

Background is coming along, just one last question as it will influence a large part of the background itself.
Can I let the animated dead fight for me? Maybe someday as a permanent construct/undead as I took your artifice suggestion and added it to the background as a character goal .
I don't care if they are bad at it. If the animated corpse can wield a sword and hold a shield while standing in front of me, well I should be good to go.

Bishop will let the innkeeper or someone in town who is known for handling information know that he is interested in joining anyone that is heading towards Ghostal.
They would know of his skill set and might be willing to share it with any adventurers looking for someone with expertise on ghostly apparitions and the like.
