They're more than welcome to intervene but aboard the Lost and Found are surely safe (as per their intent) but therefore limited by space and time in how they can influence the melee.
Maybe declare what they intend to do and events will catch them up - or vice versa!
Frank nods and turns to Voss "Mr Voss, could you arrange a tour of the air traffic management suite please."
The post where Jaelah insisted Roscoe accompany her and her family.
viewtopic.php?p=740326#p740326
And your call for our rolls.
Int roll for Roscoe please.
Awareness and Int roll for Jaelah please.
So, lets see what you got.
I also thought Roscoe and Jaelah were aboard but I realize that this doesn't necessarily follow as Roscoe can be both aboard and not and both. Although I can't see a post stating where they are.
Their Int rolls (Intelligence not Initiative) were to realize that irradiating the Bartizan and Arcology ecosystem would be bad and were successful in avoiding that issue.
If they are off the ship then they can choose actions as being on the periphery of the confrontation with the Provosts.
If so then please declare actions as per the situation above.

Frank Cross
If this is impossible, or over taken by events, or the Provost makes an offensive move then Frank will attack him.
As it all kicks off Frank draws his (Aslan) blade, he holds it to the Provosts throat "Stand down".Tiglath wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 1:30 am All

If you wish to be involved in a melee make some close combat rolls
Note: pistols that don't go clean through people will work here in concert with melee weapons. If you select a plasma/fusion pistol see below.
If you wish to inflict casualties randomly on random people fire wildly into the melee!![]()

Walt, having been in the Lost snd Found with Tourmaline, Lannigan, and Bilis walks off the ship (wearing his newly replicated Telekinetic focus) and sees the melee kick off. Feeling confident that the Ancients will prevail, and in the process, the mercs, Walt says the code word for the Flying Dagger to emerge from his PD ring and streak overhead the throng to attack the provost groping Aster. Simultaneously, he opens his Telepathy to read the mind of the Provost that Frank drew his knife on…he makes a strategic decision to know the background of the Navy’s motives by Reading Thoughts rather than beating ass at the moment. Ass whooping in a few more seconds…for now, it’s Intel gathering.
He does admire Bona’s ass kicking delivery…
Telepathy: [2d6+8]=5+8=13
He’ll spend whatever points are required to reach the range to the provost.

Oh, ok. The original was fixed via Bilis and the replicator seems to make copies very quickly, so I assumed it had been replicated.
Doesn’t matter because I don’t think Walt could do anything with it yet anyway. He’s Telekinetics 0, and Tourmaline said the device required an extensive attainment process.

You should have your alter ego act.

Prerna looked over the deteriorating situation with the provosts and the VIPs. "Recon team, observe and report if any of the provosts tries to use lethal force." She readies her ACR and then she spots Frank in combat. "Cover me," she calls to her team as she moves to assist the colonel.
She turns her suit speaker up to maximum. "Stand down! I say again, STAND DOWN! Any further offensive actions will be met with deadly force! Stand down, any offensive actions will be met with deadly force! This is your only warning!"

Re: 009: Talking Turkey at the Bartizan
When the shit hit the fan William spun low to clear himself and then avoiding Bona's attack on Philby he drew his ceremonial sword which happened to be a flying sword and lashed out at the nearest trooper between him and Aster. He knew that Ciencia was safe barring the use of weapons of mass destruction and could focus on the local Provost.Tiglath wrote: ↑Thu Dec 19, 2024 1:30 am All
Provost Maclean turns his free hand toward William and jabs a finger in his face "You have no authority here, suka! A fact I will personally demonstrate to your wife!" Eager hands grab Aster (everywhere!) and pull her (like Garvin) deeper into the Navy unit. Provost Philby shoves through the press to back up his comrade.
Meanwhile Provost Burgess, buoyed along by a surge of Planetary Navy troopers, confronts Frank and a nearby Skeet "You UpSpire scum - self styled mercenary royalty! You need to realize that The Shore can not match the King of The Deep!"
With but a first person view William can't tell when or how the fight started. However he recalls Polly Iyhula's pale blue silk dress in his peripheral vision and her very vocal complaints about the injustice of the arrests. Then he sees Philby mouth a foul Avastan insult and shove her back by way of a clearance strike to give himself room to draw his sidearm. Polly seems to slide off the blow and, as the Provost clears leather, scribes an S shape in the air with her fan.
In later recollection William would say that it was when the high velocity arterial spray hit his face that he knew the fight was "on".
The SEMC Rangers providing immediate close protection read the situation and react. Immediately Gauaghan turns to his comrades with a terrible smile and calls "Men of Connaught - the Devil's Own, here's work for men like us". He then unsheathes his falx and screams "Faugh–a–Ballagh!" Outnumbered three to one the Rangers counter charge the Collace Navy.
Re: 009: Talking Turkey at the Bartizan
All
The action develops into a tightly packed melee/scrum about the principals and the prisoners (Aster and Garvin) pulled into the main body of the Navy forces.
Ciencia's mind slides into the mind of Provost named Burgess and reads his immediate thoughts «Бля, эти наемники — сумасшедшие ублюдки! Нам нужно доставить пленных на подводную лодку». (OOC: Has she ever been to Avastan / has an auto-translator / take a try on Imperial Linguistics???)
She notes that as the confrontation develops the SEMC's QSM Henker appears to have engaged the Collace PDF officer in casual banter immediately taking his two squads out of the fight.
Bona attacks Provost Maclaen succeeding in lightly wounding him with a dagger slash to the face and grappling his legs (per grappling she can "do a thing" to/with him next turn
). As she successfully grapples her opponent Colonel Frank Cross draws a straight bladed short sword and holds the injured Provost at sword point commanding him "Stand down". Bona appreciates swords - this one looks like it's an Aslan masterwork quality blade. Interestingly Colonel Skeet ignites an archaeotech plasma blade and slices a blocking gauss rifle in half to hold its wielder at the point of his energy blade. He resorts to low gutter Collace and commands "Jack it in, wanker!"
Walt reads the thoughts of Provost Maclaen «Блядь, эта сука воин!» then «Черт побери, я во власти Кросса!» and «Глупый ублюдок ударил кошачьего посланника. Теперь мы все равно все равно умрем! Черт возьми!» (OOC: See Ciencia above. Local dialect you've never heard before).
As Lannigan backs away Walt hears Tourmaline's cold laughter and sees her not so much throw as unleash a hand axe which streaks in a flat trajectory across the flight deck to smash into the throat of a Naval trooper under his helmet. She joins the Rangers in their charge. While bayonets and sidearms fail to penetrate the Navy troops' combat armour the fearsome falx and Tourmaline's axe suffer no such disadvantage.
Despite being hand cuffed both Aster and Garvin break free and injure their immediate captors (dislocated thumb and stunned by a headbutt) but remain held within the press of Collace Navy troopers. Aster has the extra advantage of Walt's flying dagger harassing nearby Naval troopers.
William finds himself opposed by Provost Philby. He immediately notes his opponent has lost most of his left hand but yet manages to claw his sidearm free with his right. William beats the weapon off target and lunges his blade to take Philby in the armpit and as William recovers the thrust his opponent drops lifeless to the armoured deck.
A PGMP gunner raises his weapon to shoot but even as he shoulders his weapon it bucks and pieces fly from it. Prerna receives "Threat One checked" from Easy. A Navy trooper raises his rifle towards her but his elbow hyper extends and he drops the weapon screaming. As she commands the Navy troops to stand down she's grateful that her armoured visage allows her to either maintain a poker face or mask her reaction to the arrival of imminent devastation. Over the melee Prerna can see the bodyguard of Warlord Ikazuchi “Thunder” drop into a practiced wedge formation. The Aslan are approaching the naval troops from their flank/rear. The Aslan do not roar they simply accelerate using massive musculature to power over the ground at a truly frightening speed for such enormous creatures. While the Warlord remains unarmed his hand picked retinue, each a warrior of awesome repute in his own right, ready their weapons. Actinic light gleams from the plasma and monobladed naginata and yari of Hiei and Kirishima and yet the black metal head of Kongō's warhammer seems to absorb nearby light while Haruna has not yet even deigned to draw his twin blades.
The physical impact of the Aslan ripples through the entire melee. A legless torso lifts momentarily from the fray as massive blades rises and fall. Now the Aslan roar and a primordial wave of the basic visceral fear of predation echoes the physical impact of these apex predators on the melee. Prerna sees the form of a flailing PGMP gunner in his powered exoskeleton rise from the press of bodies gripped by the ankles in a massive fur covered fist. The improvised club smashes down with what she has to acknowledge as truly artistic hyperviolence. It would seem that the Warlord Ikazuchi has found himself a weapon.

Hey, in our defense, the Aslan drew blood first and we're just supporting them. And, of course, we were left unsupervised.

Re: 009: Talking Turkey at the Bartizan
Frustrated by the scramble of word/thought (even a Neural Jacks' Universal Translator might not know a very local dialect), Walt let's the Flying Dagger again attack Provost Burgess (the 14 damage wasn't enough to drop him the first round) while he teleports to the G-Submersible's deck right behind the Heavy Energy Weapon's tripod.
[2d6+6]=8+6=14
As a minor action, he'll draw the Flying Sword at his waist and slice through the power umbilical while mentally commanding his Ancients Body Armor (previously in clothes configuration) to take on the armor configuration.
Power Umbilical Damage: [3d6+2]=11+2=13
+6 Damage (4 from strength and 2 from Path of the Warrior) AP8 (by sword and 2 from Path of the Warrior)

All (but by Character)
Frank
Now grappled by the warrior woman Bona (who clearly has the strength and melee attributes of a Marine) whilst also held at swordpoint by Frank Provost Maclean shouts "Хватит драться! Stand Down!" He is bleeding heavily from a deep slash wound to the face and may be fighting to remain conscious. He's then menaced with but not further attacked by a drone/remotely manipulated dagger.
(OOC: It fortunately made its Tactics (Int) roll...).
Prerna (and Ciencia by Telepathy)
William finds himself facing a rifle armed Naval trooper who seems to be suffering from a lack of faith in his mission. The trooper's pending "mission apostacy" is cured when the massive black metal head of Kongō's warhammer strikes the crown of his helmet and drives it and his head into his chest cavity. William is free to act. Warlord Ikazuchi crushes a trooper with his improvised club and with a frightening speed that belies his massive bulk shoots out his offhand to grasp the face of a trooper aiming at his flank. The human's legs flail until Ikazuchi extends his dew claw and the body goes instantly limp. Aster and Garvin see death take the troopers all around them and then they are overrun by the Aslan fighting wedge. Garvin is about to say something when he is swatted behind the melee while Aster is picked up in a massive paw while its owner seeks targets with what she estimates might be a 20mm sidearm. The Warlord's Bannermen are now killing a broken enemy with ruthless and practiced efficiency. They do not take prisoners killing any enemy in sight and reach of their massive polearms including those attempting surrender.
Confronting Gaughan, who steps protectively over a trooper he just struck down with his falx, Haruna simply offers a polite inclination of his head and sheathes his blades. Kirishima efficiently eviscerates a Naval trooper and, withdrawing his yari, faces Tourmaline who pulls her axe from the shoulder of her dead foe. He roars. She screams primal inchoate rage back at him.
Walt teleports aboard the gravsub behind the energy weapon and slices through its power supply then converting his armour from civilian to military mode. He's aware that his dagger is still attacking the enemy but has left it to its own devices. (OOC: Per random allocation you attacked Maclean not Burgess last time).
On the flight deck the fighting begins to subside. It would seem that more than half of the navy troopers are KIA with a number more wounded. About half the Rangers are lightly wounded.

Addressing Prerna he drops his pretense at "Imperial neutral" and in a thick Avastan accent says "I know you. You are Krasnaya Smert' and so we are all dead because no one survives your will. I am Bratva and I do not fear death but I will speak words with it". He shouts loud enough for all to hear "I demand Parlay on behalf of The King of the Deep!" He pulls off his gaunlets revealing tattooed hands and knuckles and then his helmet and balaclava to show a scarred face with neck tattoos.joertexas wrote: ↑Fri Dec 20, 2024 1:18 am Prerna looked over the deteriorating situation with the provosts and the VIPs.
Aster will do absolutely nothing to distract or disturb the warrior.Tiglath wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 2:13 am William finds himself facing a rifle armed Naval trooper who seems to be suffering from a lack of faith in his mission.
One of the robotic weapons from earlier decloaks and is pointing a VRF Gauss Gun at the offending troopers. It doesn't fire but rather seems to be making a point though they're being slaughtered anyway by the Aslan. Another one appears directly in front of the sub at something a bit closer than point blank range. The pilot is looking down the barrel of a heavy pulse laser gun from a few meters away. It doesn't fire either, just hovering there.Tiglath wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 2:13 am Confronting Gaughan, who steps protectively over a trooper he just struck down with his falx, Haruna simply offers a polite inclination of his head and sheathes his blades.
He's aware that his dagger is still attacking the enemy. (OOC: Per random allocation you attacked Maclean not Burgess last time and then again this round).
Re: 009: Talking Turkey at the Bartizan
(OOC: I had a second thought and after review of your helpful link to Swords (Flying) gave the thing a "saving throw" to tactically interpret the situation / apply the law of robotics (if only to Bona only!terrymixon wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 2:44 amBona bounces up and goes after any threats with her robotic daggers.Tiglath wrote: ↑Fri Dec 27, 2024 2:13 am All (but by Character)
He's then again and apparently fatally stabbed by a drone/remotely manipulated dagger.

In light of the above please feel free to add/alter your post as necessary (not sure you need to) but there it is!

Re: 009: Talking Turkey at the Bartizan
William steps back from the indiscriminate slaughter and toggles his armor to military mode.
