Gaurbal looks at the coins in the trough. He gets out his pouch and looks at the two shiny gold coins within.

He plucks out one of the gold coins and places it with the others.

Sometimes I'm too quick for my own good. While, as a player, I'd love to put that coin to arousing, this is what Gaurbal would do... And he doesn't have any change and it might be frowned on if he took some silver coins out.

"The Saint's Blessing upon you." intones a Priest from behind, the one standing beside the door way you just exited, "May your offering come back to you ten fold!"

Give yourself a LUCK token. There's a 50/50 chance I'll take it back when a stroke of good luck befalls Gaurbal before you get a chance to use it on a do-over roll.

Well, it is Xmas!

Gaurbal shakes his head "No sir, it wasn't by the north wall."

"Ah! Well, no matter." Brother Kerr says absently, "Don't want rats getting a foothold in town by any route, do we?"

"That's you two all healed." says Brother Kerr, "If you exit by that door you'll be in the corridor that goes back to the prayer hall. I hope you'll see fit to leave a donation to The Saint at Her altar on your way out to cover the earthly costs of Her veneration."

Those that were with Brother Kerr (and those waiting in the waiting room) can leave by way of the corridor. If any of you stayed in the Prayer Hall you'll see your companions emerge from a different doorway, the one behind the altar.

As you enter the Prayer Hall you see that coins of various colors fill a trough that goes along the back of the altar where the golden statue of The Saint rests. The coins are mostly the brownish red of copper, but some silver is scattered among them and there are a couple of gold pieces showing, too! You only take a quick glance but you estimate there must be 20 or 30 gold worth of coins in that trough!

Draven will leave two silvers in the trough.

Draven feels his steps lighten and he generally just feels better about the world and everything in it as he leaves the Temple.

Draven also gets a LUCK token! There is also a 50/50 chance that you'll get lucky in some way before you spend your LUCK token. If the gods are real in this fantasy world, then they should do godly things from time to time.

Vesper seems more subdued than usual in the temple but brightens when he comrades return.

Vesper links arms with the two warriors "I am excellent at celebrating! As a new beginning tonight I will not party in my Ordian postulant's robes. They surely pay for a fair few drinks but encourage my exhibitionism... and that leads to dodging the clergy who want to arrest me for "disorder" - and those who don't! Priests are always so "handsy"!" She grins "It's not the dancing they mind so much as my "improvements" to the robes to let me move. To pass the time while we walk to the Guildhall you could guess how high the split I put in the skirts goes...".

Vesper, Draven, Galreth, Gaurbal and Jake proceed down the street back to the Guild Hall located in the back of The Trident and Shield tavern. Jake receives several turned head looks as he sits on Galreth's shoulder. However, you make it there with no incident.

The Guild Master is concerned that there are more, and possibly larger vermin, in the tunnels you found, "I can understand the Baker's concern about telling the Town Guard, but this needs dealing with. I'll go see the Sheriff and let him know the problem without involving anyone specifically. I'll see if he will authorize payment for exploring and clearing these tunnels and post that on the Job Board if he does."

At the Guild Hall you learn that supplies are not available for purchase here! You are responsible for buying your supplies at one of the local stores. A general store is just south of the Guild Hall along Dock Road. You should be able to buy things like rations, torches, lanterns, oil, rope, and so on there. Iron items, including weapons, shields and armor will be found at blacksmiths, iron mongers and finer items at Armorers and Weapon smiths. Arrows and bows can be bought fletchers. Potions come from an Apothecary and so on.

You find that a modest room and board is going to cost you 5 silver per day at The Trident and Shield, that's a Guild discount as it would get you poor food and sleeping in a common area most places. The rooms here for Guild Members take up the entire fourth floor of The Trident and Shield. Each member gets a quite small room most have a tiny window with wooden shutters, a bed, a chest, wash basin, wooden bench, and (perhaps most importantly} a lockable door. The small rooms surround a common area where more comfortable chairs, sofas and a large table are available for your use.

Beyond what you are served with your meals, and at taverns around town, Ale, Beer and Stout cost 5 copper per mug, wine is around 2 silver per pitcher, and spirits (whisky of various sorts) cost 1 silver per shot. Of course, these are prices for common drinks, more rare ones will be more expensive...up to 100 times more expensive for some. Meals around town will cost you from 5 cp for swill, through 5 sp for good, to 5 gp (or more) if you want to feast like an Aristocratic!

Vesper reacts with "Guild Master, with respect, this is our find and we have experience in solving this problem. If the Sheriff wants the matter dealt with there is no need for a notice on the Job Board - let him put up some coin to hire and supply our group. Specific to the problem let him supply metal greaves to ward off the attacks of the rats that we have already bested once. Already you see our knowledge and experience at work!"

When the Guild Master is not in earshot he will say "At the temple they said there are ways into the sewers by the north wall. A boy got bit there."
